There’s no Bb6 present in this video. The highest note actually performed here is a D6 right after the initial Bb5. If you’re hearing a Bb6, it’s just the overtone
I haven't heard Ms. LaBelle hit a note like that since the days of the Uptown Theater. I was about 11 or 12 years old at the time. She was singing in a group called Patti LaBelle & the Blue Bells, meaning she was in her late teens or early twenties at the time. Fabulous she can still hit notes like that!
So I have had major arguments with a musician who keeps saying that aint a whistle note. Me (a die hard Patti fan from Philly) having heard her all my life and NEVER hearing that note out of mouth, even at her highest belt- can not unhear this as "whistle" registar. Who is correct??
