High notes resonate naturally in the head space and carry further. So it’s not unusual to see someone pull the mic away when hitting something with intensity. That being said Patti is a seasoned vet and knows completely what she’s doing.
@@Dukkyjames200 its not because of the high notes. Her voice is much heavier .She is a dramatic soprano. She could even sing without a microphne. I saw a concert ,where her mic went Off For couple minutes you clearly still heared her singing and the voice . Not every high note are clear to hear in such a noise .and whistles are actually pretty Hard to hear in such a loud place
@@feridedogan7653 No doubt Patti’s voice is amazing 🤩. But what I mean is she’s pulling the mic away because of the intensity of the sound. Mariah does it too and Jessie J in fact they take the mic back because and intense sound can cause the mic to ring out and create feedback. Not just high notes but any sound with a lot of power behind it can do that.
@@Dukkyjames200 well mariah and Patti are singing over 30 years .Patti even longer .They Know their voices. But mariah carey is vocally not stable AS patti. Mariah careys voice isnt as strong AS Jessie or Patties. Never was too .
@@feridedogan7653 Well I don’t really know or care about the technicalities of it all. They are all great singers and they know their voices. That’s good enough for me.
The same thing sort of happened with Kelly Rowland on the voice during the performance of dream on sung by the coaches. Anyway, when she hit this certain note pretty much at the end of the song, some people said it was a Bb5 in mix, but others were saying it was a Bb6 in whistle, when I heard people saying it was a Bb5 I was like "really?" cause I heard the whistle but then I started to focus my ears more and then I started to hear the Bb5.
I've always said she's a vocal phenom. Being a singer myself i've looked to her for a lot of vocal inspiration. She truly is gifted beyond measure. And i don't think we'll ever see another singer like this again.
@@maryhaunny944 if you don’t think Patti has parts of her voice we haven’t heard you are sadly mistaken . She was playing around with the note that’s why she distanced the mic
@@MrChampagne94 Because any vocalist that is singing out of their comfort range knows that there’s a chance that things will go wrong. Like I said, she probably thought the note wouldn’t come out right, so she moved the microphone away. And for the record, that is not a whistle. She just hit a high note in mixed voice and placed it in the nose, which is why it has a small, sharp sound to it.
Sounds kinda like a whistle but it’s definitely a belt. It was extremely resonant but the mic, given the distance, captured mostly the higher frequencies.
i think because her voice was so tired she did almost accidentaly a whistle... she try to do a super high head/mixed note but its cracked that slip to a whistle register even if its Bb5 or Bb6 this is a whistle register.
That's a belt..you're just hearing the top end of it because the mic is far away and other vocals and instrumentation are blocking you from hearing it clearly.
