I bought one new back when they came out and used it allot,,,then put it away for a few years,,until now and when I got it back out today,,I forgot how to fly it. lol Just tried and the batteries are no good. They charge up but critical fail as soon as I am in the air. Just ordered a new battery. These are the best drone for the money,,I paid $700 for it at that time. Easy to fly,,good controls and distance. The pics and video are great. Ill be flying again soon.

What a great documentary I was born 1958 and remember these days so well❤ I loved the Jamaican culture and still do I’ve never had a problem with black people, I love their style, their music, their love of sport and fashion…it’s Muslims that I have a problem with and their radical mindset.

Been a skinhead since 1968. I'm well old now lol This is a superb documentary by the great Don. Used to see Don a lot down the Grove and at Acklam Hall. Hung out with him and Mick Jones. Went to loads of gigs back then. The Clash (obviously) X-Ray Specs, Madness, The Selecter, Bodysnatchers, Sham 69 (of course) Desmond Dekker, Jimmy Cliff (R.I.P) so so many. Greatest times of my life. I wouldn't change a single moment of them.

I started riding in 1970, I'm 70 this year and still at it. The bigger bikes are getting a little heavy for me these days, I have a Triumph T100 for the daily ride and a '68 BSA Starfire which I'm rebuilding.

Good vid, although I err to the rock side of things. I remember as a young teen hearing this amazing bass throbbing from a local park. There was a 'skin head' bash happening and the track was Dave Ansell Collins Double Barrel. Awesome. It seemed strange that skins were supposed to be racist whilst liking Ska etc. Also, I always thought that it was red boot laces that denoted a racist tendency? Some docs come with yellow anyway 🤔

I remember Gary Bushell being at a Skinhead ‘Oi convention’ in Southgate north London in 1979/80- John Lydons brother and his band the 4 be 2’s were playing, plus the Angelic upstarts and a couple of others. About halfway through the Upstarts set a firm of West Ham casuals bowled into the venue-about 10 of them, all big lumps in their early to mid 20s, they looked evil ,I learned later that these were the notorious Towners-aka the Snipers/Canning town mob, literally. They’ve seen Bushell upstairs in the balcony bit, obviously knew him via the Rejects & co ,they gave each other a shout, a wink & a wave, and then CRASH 💥 they just kicked right off laying into everyone in front of the stage, all but 2 punters scattered amidst the flying fists. One of them was a bloke called Smithy, the 4 be 2’s manager, a 6ft 4 giant, and a Gooner. The other fella was decked sharpish, and stomped half to death. Smithy exchanged a few blows but was quickly knocked sparko, the floor was shaking from all the Adidas stomping on his head, then these nutters started smashing the p.a monitor on his face as he was laid out unconscious and on his back-he looked dead… I looked up at Bushell while this was happening and fully expected to see the same look of horror on his face that the rest of us had…nope…the arsehole was actually laughing-proper wetting himself. I was a kid of 13 out with a few of my mates and we were all terrified. I thought that they had killed that Smithy fella, miraculously he survived , I don’t know how because those p.a speakers looked and sounded fking heavy when they smashed on his face and head, they were left in bits around his head. Then this firm of psychos calmly walked out. I have never seen anything like it before or since. Gary Bushell, shame on you.

71 now, in '68 I was a tailender mod- a fashion that belonged to an older age group but in '69 I embraced the skinhead style which affected my whole life, then it was as is now all about music and fashion, roughly a couple of SK years with Shermans, Staypress, Martins, Crombies, then Suedeheades- black or beige 3 piece suits, Royals, white Shermans, red hankies- denoting area you lived, now I'm back to being a skinhead again out of necessity but I never lost my love of Bluebeat, Reggae, Ska or soul.

"How can it be racist?" Im a minute in and theyre already lying. Literally every 50+ Jamaican i know used to go into Birmingham town centre and row on a daily/weekly basis with these allegedly "non-racist" skinheads. Its hardly surprising or a coincidence that the skinhead movement overlapped so quickly with far right movements.

I'd say the original skinheads were the Roundheads reacting to the decadence and elitism of royalist cavaliers in the 17th century. Just like 1960s skinheads was a working class response to upper and middle class hippiedom. The skinhead revival of the late 70s was likewise a response to the arty mostly middle class leanings of the first wave of punk, which itself dabbled with nazi themes and then filtered down without the arty posturing, into the basic thought processes of some elements of working class white youth and given structure by the extreme right wing. It then manifested the way it did into reactionary hostility against what they saw as middle class lefties who they never trusted historically trying to preach to them and alienate them, a bit like with all the peace and love hippies in the 60s. I'm mixed race and was a teen during the late 70s and had mates like mentioned in the film, the type of kids who were into punk, 2-tone, skinhead and also flirted with the right wing. Now looking back I think it was more a tendency to reinforce their sense of masculinity and working class identity than any out and out racism. They just had an instinctive mistrust of anything they saw as middle class like leftist dogma or anything they sensed was emasculating their sense of self or for authority or dogmatic preaching as a whole. Which is why when push came to shove they had little time for either the rock against racism leftist ideology and equally for the narrow-minded backward ideology of the extreme right

thanks so much for putting this together so much of this i could relate to the innocents of bands like Bad Manners - Madness - Ska music and the Music of Oi bands that i also followed and listen to even today. At the age of 60 on my next birthday i remember transition through the years , From wearing flares and platform shoes as a 10 year old not my choice but then rock & role music as my dad and his generation were Teddy Boys and then Madness came along so my Skinhead /ska look took over and remains to this day. As some of my mates drifted in to more extreme beliefs i stepped back and kept rolling along with all my friends . Great program to watch and remember the wonderful Skinhead style

Hmm. My spidey senses are tingling. Something _is_ wrong here. It's not OK to swagger _aggressively_ and not be polite. The hippies are annoying. I agree with that. But the vibe is a bit militant. With Enoch Powel recently holding a position of power, racial tensions existed and that posturing is designed specifically to provoke a from literally anyone in the vicinity. It's the whole Ska thing. UK Ska is a bit weird, politically speaking. It's a two tone celebration of Jamaican and British culture. But skanking is also the progenitor of the mosh pit. Half energetic expulsion of energy and half excuse to shove people around.

Choice doco, I love the evolution of skinheads, the fashion, the music from ska,to oi, and skrewdriver. It always represented the workng class no matter where in the world you go, but also the mood of the generation. I don't believe the Neo Nazi evolution is racist but rather nationalist in it's meaning, that is a love of your people and your country, the willingness to stand up and shout OI! , thats why other cultures have adopted it.

Went down to butlins Clacton for a holiday with a few mates we all had shoulder length hair. Met some lads from South London with cropped hair and Ben sher shirts thought this is a better look. Went down to the nearest barbers.rest is history. When I got home my old man said that's a better haircut. Little did he know.

Loved this retrospective view…. I was brought up in Leith (Edinburgh) and all through the sixties had a crew cut at the insistence of my father, so when fashions changed my hair cut was a stand out at school and elsewhere….i know a genuine crew isn’t skinhead, but it was easily doctored to lose the 1963 US college look and turn it into a suede. Brogues, bag trousers, braces and a button down Ben Sherman, I thought I was the whole cheese. Always thought it was a shame that the style became associated with racism and football hooliganism. Thanks for this piece of history.
