So after some time hunting for a gs, i found one that suited me and with the spec i want. When i say spec i mean history of the owner who didnt use this as a town commuter but actaully used this for its intentions, the previous owner was a really great chap to deal with and i got this at a super price so im over the moon and some adventures to come soon on it.

I went to a big car bike dealership, they had a 07' BMW r1200gs and a 2001 BMW 1150gs, took me about an hour to make my mind up, both of them were in beautiful condition, I bought the r1200gs because of low kilometres, later I decided to go and buy the 1150 also, but it was sold, the sale guy told me another customer was lurking around hoping I won't take the 1150 and snagged it up 🤣👍

No way… that’s a crazy story, I love the 1150 it’s a proper tractor, but she is heavy and never missed a beat also water doesn’t seem to be an issue for it, I’m not overly keen exploring on something with to much electronics, I would love a 1200 though… also have to take the comments of “you heading to Starbucks now” hahaha

@@stealthline I had a proper 05 Gen 1 Klr650, so yes I know all about tractors 🤣 the 1200 is amazingly smooth and so refined, yet has all the shake rattle and rolls of that big boxer motor, my daughter told me I joined the Red wine and steak club (BMW) 🤣

would have disabled the abs as it is very problematic on the early GS snd very expensive to fix

Yeah, he did say he had a sensor failure when he was on the continent, ABS would have great benefits but I've never had a bike with one so will just carry on using my normal riding style, something not to rely on and yeah can be costly to sort out, so especially when we start clocking up more miles something less to worry about l.

tank internals - perished pipe stranded me last week (46k on it), battery the month before shocks can be rebuilt by Paul at TWS Poppleton York - if they're OEM they're gonna be tired AF at that mileage

Thanks for the heads up, I’ve got to sort the front shocks out but I do need to keep an eye on the tank internals etc
