A channel dedicated to a few of my favourite things: art, music, culture and media. I make docu-style videos based on the weird and wonderful. From the light-hearted subjects, to the darkest. Basically, I just like to make videos on whatever inspires or fascinates me. Take a gander and make yourself at home.

Are you an artist? I’d love to see your work! Please send me 8-10 high resolution image files of your work and a short bio about yourself (as I want to hear and share your story!) to blinddweller@gmail.com to potentially feature in one of my videos.

If you want to support the channel and in return be credited in a future video or see my videos early, please consider joining my Patreon (www.patreon.com/blinddweller) or join as a channel member! Any donations help me keep these videos going, and you can become a huge part of this journey.

20:35 A child does not develop a "core" personality until age 10 and after. So, technically there is no shattering as that would imply it was once whole. Rather, the brain simply puts barriers between the different facets.

6:26 sometimes we'll know things and not know how we know it, just that it's true. Then we'll double check and 98% of the time we were right. We like to call it our "forbidden knowledge"

Wait, was the "Men Reading" painting initially a portrait? I see a human head in that painting.

The whole "eroticness" Giger's art, particularly that of the Alien, is quite unsettling but that's what will always stand out for me and is what makes it so damn memorable. Its life-cycle is so terrifying when looking at it through those lenses. A violation to the human life doomed to birth them.. it's just.. terrifying.

I put this video in my watch list forever ago and today i finally watched it. Not only do i think that this video is excellent and i could follow it very easily as someone that doesn't know much about art, but this motivated me to actually go and paint again. The part about the self portraits really inspired me, and although i don't feel ready for that yet, i painted for nearly two hours. I kind of feel the need to share that with you 😇

Frida is the reason I always tell emerging artists to create from the heart. Her work is so personal and that is what gives it power. Also shoutout to Fulang Chang the pet monkey.

She’s seen this!!! She didn’t just make these drawings up. She’s gone through this in real life and maybe this is her only way to tell us without getting in trouble with the ones who caused harm.

12:59 @mhunt1094 mentioned the “vulva” image in The Nun being a yonic medieval wound in Christ’s side, which I agree is quite plausible. However, I think it’s very like Hildegard Von Bingen’s 1165 illustration Vision I Part 3: “God, Cosmos, and Humanity” in her work “Scivias.” She drew a model of these 3 things that very much look like the anatomy of a vulva. Having that cosmological and metaphysical image opposite the very earthly and fleshly pregnant woman could represent the two directions the nun is being pulled.

Lol, take it easy with the anti-china propaganda 🤡 For your viewers, the full "Tank Man" video can be seen online, nobody is injured or run over (and hes also trying to stop the tanks from LEAVING the square). Curious why you chose to use the still image (that creates the fake narrative), while the actual video (that shows the truth), practically dismantles your "evil ccp" bs that you start rambling about at 33:00.

Fantastic ! A wonderful film about a sadly neglected artist. Whose work was , quite literally, in a world of its own. Anybody who wants to know more about Daddy and his work (and after this brilliant film, who wouldn't ?) Would do well to acquire a copy of Nicholas Tromans' excellent book "Richard Dadd: The Artist and the Asylum."

This art is absolutely timely. It wonderfully captures the crass, anxious, fixated, and hedonistic quality of our experience. The eyes are too large-- we've seen too much.. .

Hiya I absolutely love these videos. Have you ever covered John Byrne? A Glasgow artist who painted the art work for most of gerry rafferty album covers? They were best friends and gerry wrote Patrick ( was johns middle name) a brilliant song and if you get the chance habe a listen to gerry. John is also the ex husband of tilda Swinton theu share twins together. I find his art beautiful. I think a good candidate for this channel. Amanda blair.

I LIVED for this show every week back in the early 1970's! My parents had lost our nice house to foreclosure after my dad suffered a serious accident and wasn't able to work for close to two years, and back then, landlords could legally say, "no children," SO....yeah, we were hard pressed. In early October, 1970, we eventually discovered a dilapidated old house that had been vacant for about a year, and it was up for rent. I distinctly remember the day we moved into that creepy old place because it was the same day that Janis Joplin was found dead, and she was one of my dad's favorite singers at the time. Our bad luck began that first day as we were moving in; some girl ran a stop sign and totaled our best car, a newer station wagon, and the calamities kept coming. I realized almost immediately that we weren't alone in that place as well, it was heavily haunted, but my parents wouldn't listen to me--at first. We would later learn that tragedy had hit every family who had ever lived there, and kidney disease seemed to hit every female resident of the place, and my mother was also not spared this fate, either. Anyway, you'd think I'd have been too terrified to seek out a television show like Night Gallery, but I did, and I was devastated when the series abruptly ended after Rod Serling's untimely death during open heart surgery, I think it was. Looking back, I think I was trying to learn about the supernatural and get some answers for my own situation, like the little girl who used to appear to my younger brother and I as she would walk out of the dark corners of our bedroom and over to our beds late at night. We were only there for 5 years, but it was 5 years too long for me!

I am lucky to know Zeng on a personal level, having been to his studio in Beijing in 2006. My reaction was immediate : I knew I was in the company of a genius and master in the tradition of a Cezanne . He is by far, one of the most sophisticated painter alive today ( in my humble opinion one of the top 3 of all painters alive today ) easily outclasses other European and American artists working on canvas. He also remains my favorite painter to look for inspiration at ( and collect )
