Aly, your taste in music is fantastic! I LOVE The Cure. Robert Smith is a genius. I saw them in Sydney, 2000 for their Bloodflowers tour. They played with no support band, and the concert was divided into 2 halves. The entire set went for about 3 hours!!! It was incredible. One of the best live shows I've ever seen (and I've seen a lot!!) I hope your new songs are coming along well - Im looking forward to hear the final recordings!
thankyouuu the cure is absolutely amazing they have inspired me to make more music. that sounds so cool i would’ve loved to see that. my new songs are pretty good, i hope other people are gonna think the same!! i’m a bit distracted right now i’m trying out a different daw right now which is fun. glad you’re looking forward to my music!!!
@@totallynotaly Yes, The Cure are very inspirational to me and my music too! What DAWs have you been trying? Personally, I'm an Ableton guy - I can't get enough of this DAW!
@@mrclaytron i’m currently trying logic, before that i had tried pro tools and didn’t understand it well. i’ve heard a lot about ableton tho it seems really nice
@@totallynotaly nice! Logic is amazing. I've only used it a bit, but it's super powerful, and VERY popular. So, I think moving away from Pro Tools is probably a good decision. There are lots of tutorial style videos on RU-vid for Logic, and I think once you get comfortable with Logic, you should find it much easier to use than Pro Tools! Good luck - I'm really happy for you recording your first songs - it's really awesome 👍 Hopefully you can release an EP or album in the next 12 months or so (recording an album can take a looong time!)
At first it’s almost like a Joy Division bassline, then the distortion kicks in and it adds an almost uncanny feeling. It’s an intriguing chord progression. Almost a mix of gothic and Jeff Buckley (specifically so real) it’s sort of nightmarish because of the tone, not for you to take offensively though, but I feel there could be more creativity with the shapes? Just fiddle around a bit and take notes then you’ll find a diamond in the rough but this is still really good
@@totallynotalyalso hears a tip, there's also a lot of creativity in different tuning and plucking or fingerstyle. From what I've seen in your other stuff you are visibly improving a lot which is something you should be super proud of though :) keep it up and im sure you'll find some opportunities if you keep trying. And besides, who am I to tell you anything?
@@MosesNg13 i’ve tried different tuning but people gave me hate about it so i changed to e standard. i should try to tune my guitar again tho and thankyou for the advice i really appreciate it!!
@@totallynotaly ofccc, it's lovely to see a fellow guitarist <3 also there is this gap in learning guitar where you feel sort of uninspired but I think you'll push through :) wish you all the bests and I hope to see you on stage at some point ^.^ Also just listen to a lot of different genres of music. That's what a lot of the popular musicians did before they even considered success. Whether it be from Kurt Cobain, to James Hetfield, to David Bowie, etc. Music comes from a genuine love for all genres of it. Music is an expression of self, it should resonate with oneself, whether it be a disgusting sound or the most beautiful it all has to come from somewhere :).
Oh yea and sorry if I'm yapping but lastly, singing, like all things, need to be trained. Whether it be you find the right tone to cover or sing. Just be comfortable with the sound you have. If your not keep trying to train your vocals. The vocals acts like a muscle, so if you train it the way you want. You'll get to that place. Just listen to a lot of artists and their ways of singing or take some online lessons. If you look they're fairly easy to find, even the free ones. I even find them accidentally sometimes. Overall just keep practicing and don't stop if that's what you want. You gotta find a passion that you're able to enjoy, find some support before going full into though, because you can't just go all or nothing. But I can see the potential and it shines bright. There's still a lot of time anyways :)
