Bucky Dent was not an unknown player. He was a good shortstop when he played for the White Sox and an even better one for the Yankees. He fit right into the Yankees lineup and was a valuable asset when he was there. He was also known for his clutch hitting.
Rest of baseball: RED SOX! YANKEES! RED SOX! YANKEES! Me, an Orioles fan: Oh that’s cool… I’ll just sit over and remember 1983. Oh, and fuck Jeffery Maier
I thought this video would be on the 2023 Texas Rangers. That team was one of the most random World Series Champions of all time. It's up there with the Diamondbacks and the Marlins' championships. NOBODY saw that coming. But the WS matchup was one of the strangest ones. The AZ Diamondbacks and Rangers.. Nobody, not even those 2 teams, at midseason saw that coming at all.
player one: 139 OPS+ 6.4 WAR player two: 160 OPS+ 7.3 WAR Which player deserves the MVP in 1991? One of the most egregious MVP votes of all time. Sportswriters couldn't keep their egos in check, and wanted to punish Barry Bonds for giving them attitude. Sad and borderline criminally negligent.
It was unfortunate that 2 great baseball players had one of the best years ever the same year. Joe DiMaggio was also a great fielder, Ted Willaims was not so this along with the fact that the Yankees won the pennant that year probably made the difference.
You left out that willie in 74 ,was a coach and did batting practice at shea before games and players and fans alike would get a kick when willie would hit balls out....Was loved bye AL
Tom Chaney truly deserves the record for the most strikeouts in one game. Thank you for the well deserved introduction. Many fans do not remember his 21 strikeouts.
I wonder when all you geniuses are gonna figure out that the arm injuries are occurring specifically because guys aren't throwing enough. It's so plain to see. When is some "expert" gonna weigh in on what's obvious, so the midwit content creators can start speaking on it correctly?
@@brainbarz kids hatred of history is why they're so dumb in the present. You watch. In less than 10 years, they're gonna put pitch minimums on starters because they'll have realized that the injuries are coming from not throwing ENOUGH. You'll see.
The whole 9th inning of the 92 NLCS game 7 was one bad thing after another. Cabrera’s hit was the only hard hit of the inning. Pendleton’s double to Lead off should have been caught by Cecil Espy. If the 92 pirates win the WS, Pittsburgh could have been a destination
