Watching this in 2024 makes me so sad. Those back to back cup teams were really special. Such a great group of guys on and off the ice. It just doesn’t feel the same now, especially after losing Jake too
1:06 underrated. I didn’t really think about it til I watched it but with hindsight being 20/20 you put us down 2-0 I doubt we even have a chance at that series so that win was absolutely fucking massive imo like on par with game 7 senators in crucial 🤷♂️
The Kunitz double OT game 7 goal has to be number 1. I was at that game and that was the first time Consol Energy Center was as loud as the Igloo playoffs. It was deafening inside and the mayhem in the streets as we all poured out was electric. Easy number 1 for me.
How about parking karlson top left ovi hash. Same spot ovi is. Karlsson has the best shot. Right hand as ovi is. I do like Tanger and karlson together. Right Right sets up this ovi 1 timer. Get malkin in front of the net why is he always playing hash or point? Just dumb. He needs to be in front. Crosby staying put and have.
i feel like sully has to go. He is trying the same schemes trying to get the same play out of 5871 from 5 years ago. Issue is whether we want to admit it or not those guys aren't the players they once were they arent fast or physical so why keep trying to get that fast phsical play out of them? Gotta adapt to what skills they STILL have not what they DID have
I will say I love Sully but I unfortunately in sports coaches seem to have a shelf life or reach a point where their voice doesn’t carry the same weight as it did before.
It’s honestly hard to really pin point why this is a problem year after year. It’s so frustrating but really I think the team as a whole just seems broken. Mentally too they just don’t seem to be great with responding well anymore when things in a game go wrong. Idk it’s really hard to say.
Hinostroza (13 goals in only 62 games in 21-22, Nieto (11 even strength goals last season), Pitlick (15 goals/37 Pts in 66 games in 21-22) wow massive talent upgrade for bottom 6. Malkin is such a beast on the PP (36 PPP last season)...I can see him getting 45+ with EK....also Crosby only high 20's in PPP....should go way up...high 30s at least. Reilly Smith 26 G 56 Pts on a very bad offensive team (Vegas) last season. Pens potentially could have 7 guys pot 30+ goals (Crosby, Malkin, Rakell, Smith, Guentzel, EK, Rust)
I didn't mind jan rutta. He did his job. Clear the crease. My worry is the penguins have one defenseman with ability to clear crease in front of jarry. All in all, im happy with the trade. Karlsson will improve the pp and the offense side of game
I agree. I think Rutta is the only player they lost that they'll miss. They'll need to find a replacement, but I think they can. They have some cap space too now.
Forgot to mention in the video because I was so hyped for Erik Karlsson but I do also think Rem Pitlick, who was just a throw in on the trade can actually be a little steal and no one will pay attention because who cares he's part of the Karlsson trade 🤣
Elliotte Friedman said last night on Sportsnet Central (in Canada) that he thinks the Penguins are looking at Tomas Tatar to be a depth addition and be able to fill-in up the lineup while Guentzel is injured.
If you would have told me that dubas could move granlund and petry and get back EK, i would never have believed it. and i am really happy that they did not come back with a jarry/desmith tandem. AND got $3M in cap space back??
I've literally never been more excited for anything in my life waiting for this season to start. Penguins Hockey is one of my very few things in life that I am truly passionate about. I went to 30+ games last year and just thinking about how different games will be this season makes me so Insanely excited. I'm just Picturing Erik Karlsson skating around in a penguins uniform and it doesn't seem real. October 10th can't come fast enough.
@@andersondavis8826habs may have done the best out of all 3 teams! Got a 2nd for shipping out a couple forwards they did not want, got another goalie and their old player cheaper... their gm has been quietly killing it for his first gig.
The one that wins this trade most is Geno. Hes been dealing with whoever is out after tanger for his entire career. Now they have 2 legit transition studs to get the puck up ice to the forwards.
Still concerned about the bottom 6 + Guentzel injury. If that goes on longer than a month or so we're fucked. Also, if Jarry's injuries continue we'll be screwed. Doubt we make playoffs.
