Dr. Ziama I feel your frustration. Unfortunately everything that’s happening in Liberia is deliberate and by design. One can also call it corruption. It’s much bigger than corruption. Here is the strategy: keep them poor. Keep them sick. Keep them hungry. Keep them uneducated and uninformed. Etc etc. You can throw your own in there. The guys are saying that in order to be able to control a group of people, one has to do all of the above. It’s the system that was put in place by the free slaves who made their way to Liberia. They put in place the corrupt system. Samuel Doe and his gang of thieves and murderers dethroned that evil establishment. They were supposed to demolish the system. Unfortunately they didn’t do so because they too started to benefit from the system of no checks and balances. Lack of love for country. Taylor, Bryant, Ellen and Weah regimes also heavily benefited from the system therefore they kept it in place. In fact they took the system of corruption to another level. They modified it. Had the TWP established a system during their 130 years of rule, none of these would have happened. Liberia will need a reformer and radical leadership. Corruption has eaten the very fabric of the society. There is a cartel that controls every government that comes to power. The cartel makes sure to keep all of its members in strategic positions regardless of who is the president. All the noise you are hearing about assets recovery and war crimes court is all bluff. The cartel will not allow that to happen. Every president is the ringleader of the cartel. What we have is a banana republic. That country is a failed state. Liberia is not going anywhere. BYO everything.
