The Florida orange species has a very destructive fruit disease that has destroyed thousands of acres of fruit trees. They are banned from leaving Florida. Trucks leaving the state are inspected by Florida Department of Agriculture
Fruits grown from seed, usually don’t taste like the parent fruit. They can also take longer to mature. You’re better off ordering cuttings from a mature tree.
Great points, I notice that the pomegranates are taking longer to mature than the 3-5 years duration that is prescribed. One question on the taste side though, what if I plant more from stems of the existing trees I have, will they taste good? I'm assuming you meant those grown from seeds won't taste as good as the parents.
@@xity no. A cutting from a tree is a clone of that very tree. It will taste exactly as the tree does, grow and fruit faster. This is why people often buy potted fruit trees and transplant in their backyard.
Looking forward to seeing how many fruits these will bear, and how the fruits taste if they do. I imagine that the change in environment alone will impact all of that.
