In 1982 I taught my first class not knowing how that single step would begin my journey as The Clay Lady®. My love of clay turned into a national enterprise as over the years my teaching style developed into a modality that has changed art curriculum in 1,000's of schools and studios across the country. I am honored to share my life's work with others and I enjoy the far-reaching influence of The Clay Lady Way. I live my true joy everyday when teaching my clay workshops and classes in my studio and growing The Clay Lady's Artist Co-op and Galleries! I’ve had a slipped disc and I think this was partly triggered by sitting badly at the wheel since I started pottery 18 months before. The advice you’ve given today has been amazing and putting your tips into practice will allow me a long life as a potter. Thank you.
Your husband recommended a video from a long time ago and I am so in love with your learning technique. Thank you so much! So simple into the point. I need to learn the science behind everything in order to be able to utilize it and this is brilliant!!!
Your husband posted this on some Reddit and I am so hooked. The way you demonstrate it without the client and your fingers move so smoothly is so relevant to my learning patterns. Thank you so much.!!!!!
Thank you for the so helpful video you post, making our work more easy and help us to understand better all the details of this art!!! I have one question to clarify what kind of wax you use underneath the pot....is it common wax a little higher temperature to be liquid? Thank you!!!
Bought a small shimpo wheel for 70 bucks and got some 20 dollar clay at hobby lobby. I have always wanted to try my hands at pottery. Have not made anything, since i knew i was set up wrong. Wheel was on ground and me bent over to much , so thanks for the tip. Will subscribe and follow
Hi! I been going into pottery for a while now, and I was wondering how would you glaze the bottom one the pot then? I’d you need to wax it so it would not get stuck in the kiln? Thank you!
Thank you for this video! What do you think of profile ribs? When I try them I often end up throwing my pot off kilter. Is it because the whole rib is touching the pot at multiple points at once?
