Thank you for the series. How much clay did you start with on the vase/cylinder?

I often struggle with levelling the rim with the needle tool as you demonstrated, when I bring the needle to the pot, it just gets caught and gets worse. Almost like the clay ends up too soft to be cut? Maybe I’m using too much water and the clay gets too mushy, is that a thing? Over worked clay? Thank you!
