I wish I had found you when I was a beginner! I am intermediate and I’ve been making a ton of granny stitch scarves when I just want to relax and not think about it. I was looking for something else similar and found this and it’s fun and perfect! Thank you so much. I will definitely check out your other videos!
Hello! On the third row, you're going to put one single crochet in the first stitch and two in the second stitch. Then you repeat that: 1SC in the next, 2SC in the next. So the even stitches get the increases.
I think it would be at least 5 more chains, though I don't remember the multiples you need to chain to make the pattern come out right. The best plan would be to chain way more than you need (like 10 or even 15), then stop when your project is the width you want. Then you can pull out the slip knot and extra chains when you're completely finished.
Tqvm for yr invaluable info n fast response. Can u recommend to me which type of yarn is more suitable for making scarf, I mean the softer n not rigid type. Tq
@@tansiewkhim8360 You're welcome! And sure! It all depends on your budget, color preferences, and how often you need to wash it. Worsted weight acrylic is awesome and can be found in any big box store. It's durable and washes well, though it's not the softest. Hobby Lobby's "I Love This Yarn" is one of the softest in this category though. You can also find size 3 (DK) in baby yarn, and those are usually really soft and washable. The color choices are narrower though. If you're willing to spend more money, you can go for wool or wool blends at a local yarn shop. They are gorgeous, soft, and worth the money, but they wash differently and are more expensive. I know that's a lot of info, but I hope it helps!
Sure! I'm pretty sure this is Sugar (or Peaches) and Cream cotton, which is a size 4 worsted weight yarn. And the hook is a 5.5mm size I (as in igloo).
WHAATT?? I didn’t know when you tied a knot the one in front had to be switched the second time!!! This whole time I’ve been wondering why my double knotted show laces come untied when I KNOW I tied them tight. Thanks girly❤️❤️
Yay! I gotta give full credit to a coworker, Kimberly R., from my first real job. She saw that I had a bow tied all janky and did me a solid by showing me the trick. 😄 Glad to help!
I looked at so many V-shape videos so glad I found you. Just the right speed without all the jibber jabber. Totally showing and explaining every stich. You are amazing.
Hello! I can email it to you; I don't have it posted anywhere unfortunately. You can send me a PM through FB Messenger. My FB page is Simple Crochets, and the profile photo is a red and black ball of yarn with a crochet hook. When I get your email address, I'll send it to you! (Or you can put your email address here, but I understand if you're not comfortable.)
Thank you for teaching me how to read a crochet pattern chart. This v-stich pattern really dresses up an otherwise plain single color yarn and it's easy enough for a beginner like me.
I am super glad I stumbled upon your channel! I love the way you explain everything in full detail but also make it easy and go slow for us newbies to follow! I am excited to try this pattern and others you my have. Keep them coming please! Thank you tons!
I feel you! Yes, to get it nice and tight in the middle, you can just chain 2, then work all 6 SCs into the chain farthest from the hook (the one by the knot). It will be kind of crammy for 6 SC in one chain, but yes, it beats the confusion of the magic ring! I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions!
Hi! First of all I learned to crochet from you. I've taken bits & pieces from dozens of videos but yours just work for me, so thank you. About 100 washcloths later & two blankets I was ready for a different "shape" & I ended up here. I successfully completed this little beanie no problem, with your video. Question, what do I do with the tail left over from the very beginning, just weave it in I am assuming?
Oh my word! I'm so honored!! Goodness, thank you! I'm so glad my videos work for you! Yes, you weave in the beginning tail in the same way you weave in the one at the end. If you have a hole at the top (because you chained instead of using the magic ring, or maybe it didn't close all the way), you can weave the tail into the first row kind of like a drawstring and pull it tight to make the hole disappear. Or just weave it in however strikes your fancy!
I'm sorry I don't have more videos than I do -- I create them for a local class I teach, but we've had some family struggles lately that take up a lot of my time. If you ever have questions or anything (even about a different pattern), the faster way to reach me is messaging me on my FB page: facebook.com/simplecrochets/ But comments here are fine, too. All the best to you!
New subscriber 🤗 Love the stitch marker idea. I’m a new crocheter and there have been times that I have “lost” that end stitch 😬 then I have to frog part to figure where I went wrong. I’ve become quite anal about my stitch count. 😂
I have been looking for a similar pattern, and this is it. Some market type bags have too many or too big of gaps, but yours is perfect!! Thank you for such detailed instructions! What are the approximate dimensions? Again, tysm!
Aww, thanks so much! If I had to ballpark it: when it's flat, it's about 12" wide by 16" tall? And the handles are just tall enough to fit my elbow through (so the distance from my thumb to my elbow), so about 14"? And of course I can't find the one I made! 🤦 I hope this helps!
Thank you very much Summer , I'm somewhat of a slow learner , but you were very easy and fun to follow. I had to start over a few times , but I finally figured out why I wound up with double the stitches LOL ...until I finally paid close enough attention to hear you say no need to chain one before the V ...UGH like I said , I'm slow , which why these tutorial are so wonderful for me . I can just push pause ...which you can't do with a teacher or instructor . Thank you so very much I am going to be a first time Great Grandma or rather ( UrOma) since I am German . she'll be getting lots of cool things
Great tutorial. Thank you for going slowly and explain as you went along. I kept making triangles instead of squares....lol. Now I understand that important end where there are two chains to finish. I too like to go in the back bump... I am able to see my v's easier that way too. Do more tutorials... your an excellent teacher.
Oh my gosh, you're so sweet! Thank you so much! I have a few other videos, but they're a little less beginner, though still fairly easy. I'm going to start doing even easier projects because my local students are true beginners, so hopefully you enjoy those, too! Thanks for the lovely feedback!!
