Here's a step-by-step tutorial on how to make a scarf using the double crochet v-stitch. I even show you how to change colors! (Sadly, the last 3 minutes of me weaving my tails in got cut off {irony!}, but that's all you miss!)
I wish I had found you when I was a beginner! I am intermediate and I’ve been making a ton of granny stitch scarves when I just want to relax and not think about it. I was looking for something else similar and found this and it’s fun and perfect! Thank you so much. I will definitely check out your other videos!
I looked at so many V-shape videos so glad I found you. Just the right speed without all the jibber jabber. Totally showing and explaining every stich. You are amazing.
I am super glad I stumbled upon your channel! I love the way you explain everything in full detail but also make it easy and go slow for us newbies to follow! I am excited to try this pattern and others you my have. Keep them coming please! Thank you tons!
Seriously, your videos have been the only ones I’ve been able to actually focus on to complete anything. Your methods just work for me but it’s your dry sense of humor, love it! Keep them coming please.
Brandy Rieffer, oh my goodness!! You're so sweet! I didn't realize my personality came through so much, and I can't tell you how glad I am that these are helping you!! Thanks so much!
Simple Crochets by Summer Danae yup, they help. Also I don’t mute you like I do everyone else haha. This is the first project I’ve done that I haven’t ripped out and started over, I’ve gone through a ton of yarn since I started trying to learn. I want it perfect or I cut it off and start again. But this time I was following along and enjoyed it. I had a bit of trouble seeing exactly where you went into the turning chain but I think that’s just because I don’t know exactly what I’m looking for. After 100 pauses and rewinds I think I got it! Thanks again.
Brandy, gosh, thanks!! Good to know about the turning chain. Sorry. I'm glad you got it, though! I think I showed the chart for this one (I love charts because they tell me exactly where I'm putting each stitch), but I'll be mindful of that for the next one.
Really, I've made these videos to go along with a local beginner class I've been doing at the library, so almost everything I'll do is geared toward beginners (so you might get tired of me. Lol). I definitely need to talk slower though! #excitedpeopleproblems
Thank you for teaching me how to read a crochet pattern chart. This v-stich pattern really dresses up an otherwise plain single color yarn and it's easy enough for a beginner like me.
Thank you very much Summer , I'm somewhat of a slow learner , but you were very easy and fun to follow. I had to start over a few times , but I finally figured out why I wound up with double the stitches LOL ...until I finally paid close enough attention to hear you say no need to chain one before the V ...UGH like I said , I'm slow , which why these tutorial are so wonderful for me . I can just push pause ...which you can't do with a teacher or instructor . Thank you so very much I am going to be a first time Great Grandma or rather ( UrOma) since I am German . she'll be getting lots of cool things
I think it would be at least 5 more chains, though I don't remember the multiples you need to chain to make the pattern come out right. The best plan would be to chain way more than you need (like 10 or even 15), then stop when your project is the width you want. Then you can pull out the slip knot and extra chains when you're completely finished.
Tqvm for yr invaluable info n fast response. Can u recommend to me which type of yarn is more suitable for making scarf, I mean the softer n not rigid type. Tq
@@tansiewkhim8360 You're welcome! And sure! It all depends on your budget, color preferences, and how often you need to wash it. Worsted weight acrylic is awesome and can be found in any big box store. It's durable and washes well, though it's not the softest. Hobby Lobby's "I Love This Yarn" is one of the softest in this category though. You can also find size 3 (DK) in baby yarn, and those are usually really soft and washable. The color choices are narrower though. If you're willing to spend more money, you can go for wool or wool blends at a local yarn shop. They are gorgeous, soft, and worth the money, but they wash differently and are more expensive. I know that's a lot of info, but I hope it helps!
