You can read all this in the video description of the run you're talking about but here is my explaination: Half-Life in 20:41 on quadrazids RU-vid channel is a legendary run. However it is a completely different type of speedrun, mainly because it is segmented - meaning it's been done in multiple hundreds of mini segments, grinded to perfection by a whole group of speedrunners(Not just quadrazid), that in the end were combined to a single video. Then there were heavily scripted sequences, bhopscripts, all the stuff you can do to get the maximum out of the game. Additionally the run is done on a modified version of the game making combinations of tricks possible that wouldn't be available in any official release of the game. Because of these reasons HL21 doesn't fit into any competetive leaderboard and also isn't a World Record (There are even faster runs with other glitch abuses)

​@@KaNangaTVi think you got the point, my apologies. Didn't meant to be rude or something, about the segmented part i knew, as i think that's still insane and most record world, yours is outstanding too as you're doing in one only segment and also not editing the loading screen. Sorry for that.

The hp thing you're mentioning is from a glitch we exploit at 21:00 , you get stuck in a door and for mapping reasons it deals -1hp/frame damage, so it actually heals you and can go over 100hp. The HUD only shows up to 255 and then turns back to 0 but the actual value can go up infitely(integer max)

You can simply bind a key to change fps and use a value between 4-100 It's used a lot for different tricks

I'm assuming you're talking about the boost at 8:10 ? First question, how much armor do you have, you should have 24-26. Then it's about being right over the barrel looking fully down and most important, in the moment you take the damage you need to be crouched * also keep in mind you can also do a normal grenadeboost here, have 90hp/5-10 armor for that

@@ghostly6872 ohhh yeah that's a tricky one. You need to do a tiny prestrafe and then jump right before you hit the steeper ramp to get a bit more height, then 180 and crouch to land on the top. It's also just a very tiny time save maybe like half a second over going around

The definition of a script in HL speedrunning is using one key press to perform multiple actions, in scriptless every input only performs one action. You can use scripts for a lot of things, most important is probably the bunnyhop script that allows you to perform perfect bhops without ever slowing down from friction. But there is a lot more, objectboost script, changelevel delay and much more
