Wednesday Spirit! World Record for a run in a Single-Segment! Meaning no saves have been used + not allowed to die. Scriptless category Link to run www.speedrun.com/hl1/run/z5ep...
you may think that people play old games solely because of nostalgia but that's not true. those games were simply great, certainly better than many indistinguishable open world games nowadays.
I don’t think anything will beat modern Super Mario Bros speedruns. Unless you’ve got superhuman reaction times, you have NO chance being anywhere on that leaderboard. That said, still impressive stuff on display
@@scottcaramel truee that shit is just beyond human theres no guarantee even after 10k hours that youd ever get a good run. but i think if we see a new peak of half life in the next few years it will surpass even smb.
Imagine if someday someone do the perfect run with no mistakes... the real "20 minutes run" That would be super insane.... for no hearing the runner "that was bad" lol
Average 27 minutes shift of Gordon Freeman at Black Mesa : *> Barges in late to work* *> Creates a massive rift between worlds* *> Refuses to elaborate at all* *> Leaves*
Indeed. And that plus time needed to figure out the puzzles and what to do and where to go. I remember spending weeks playing when i was a kid. had to buy magazines that had the game guides to help me when i get stuck. my pc was also slow as a potato, had to play it in windowed mode at 320x240 resolution. hahaha, the good'ole days. now we have it easy with 4K gaming
no deaths no saves this is truly unbelievable congrats . i remember watching the collab run quadrazid put together thinking how impossible a run in 1 take would be. and here it is!
“Single segment” is what speedruns are supposed to be. The real world time to beat the game should be measured. Building speed runs from segments is cheating, because it takes much time IRL.
Your comment makes no sense. All speedruns are non segmented. If they are segmented they should be catagorized as such. What's more interesting about this run is the no-saves.
I remember being blown away by the precision and ingenuity of the tricks performed in "Half Life in Half an hour" all those years ago, no matter how segmented it is. But a run like this, single segment? Absolute lunacy. Congrats on the WR!
@@wojciechsmierzynski7949it has been like that since he first started to use it. Idk if it’s accurate. The highest I’ve seen it is like 230 lol and like normal resting heart rate is like 90
Your movement is insane for a real time speedrun. I'm blown away. I've heard some people thinking speedrunners disliked the games for skipping content, but you're truly in love with Half-Life to have mastered it so perfectly.
Is it because there are no loads that it makes the flow much smoother? It's funny that this is my most watched video while it's not the fastest way to beat hl1
the sound effects of these automated doors, npcs, destruction, weapons, and all of half life sfx is just something else, i really miss going back to the late 90s
I loved this game back in the day so much, made me happy playing it and it translated into cs 1.6 and csgo later on. Congratulations, your skill is so amazing to watch
@@epicshibexd5049 for sure! and if you like Black Mesa you can always go back and play original. Could actually be pretty cool to experience that way. the subtle changes will leave you surprised whichever one you play first :).
this is fucking impressive, subscribed i dont know why i always watch speedruns before sleeping i can barely follow up whats going on in the screen when im exausted xD
Wow. I know nothing about speed-running, but what was impressive is how many micro-details you need to have perfect, and how much of a variety of things you need to have down, and all the little unique situational stuff you need to have down too. Incredible timing
I laughed way to hard when the helicopter showed up and that meme song started playing. Very sick run! Crazy that there are even more seconds to save in it!
Last night I started watching this video and at like minute 22 I started falling asleep, not because I was bored but I was overwhelmed by all the things that was happening at the same time, as a fan of hl1 who has beated the game at least three times with playtimes ranging between 8 to 12 hours watching this was nuts, congratulations men
I as a kz and surf/bunnyhop mega tryhard nerd who holds still some world records on some maps must say your movement is just godly, i legit had a smile on my face watching this.
