Just went and rewatched the film after seeing this, probably my favourite space film of all time now, brilliant story, film making and the soundtrack is just … ooh yah.
I was wondering to myself: should I make an Interstellar x '39 edit? Has it been done before? ... well, I couldn't have made it better myself! The images and editing fit the song VERY well. Thanks for sharing :)
I've always felt that '39 is the companion song to Interstellar, but I never, ever expected to be so affected by a mashup. This is beautiful work! Two moments really affect me: When Brian sings "Never looked back, never feared, never cried," and you see Cooper taking in 23 years of messages, punctuated with Tom showing the picture of his new girlfriend; and "Your mother's eyes from your eyes cry to me," as Cooper is reunited with Murph. This is stunning and encapsulates so much. Thank you.
Flash… then Highlander…. This should be made officially the third vmovie with Queen music. Is really amazing how well they get together. Hope Brian get to watch it

So, '39 is the #39th song of whole official Queen discography. The composer (Brian May) was 39 years old when Queen made his last live show. 39 years later of the release of the song, Interestellar was released. Also, the planet Mercury is 0.39 Astronomical Units (AU) from the sun. Too much 39...
Not gonna lie, this made me cry. What a missed opportunity Nolan. The part that matches the lyrics "your mother's eyes from your eyes cry to me" with Cooper reuniting with Murph broke me in tears.
Same. It always bothered me immensely in the film that Cooper left the room when the government agent came and said "she has her family here now". He should have refused to leave her and said "I am her family! I'm her father and I'm not going anywhere!"
Cada tanto vuelvo. Es increíble cómo me emociona este video. Excelente trabajo de compaginación. Una muy buena película, en todos sus detalles, una excelente canción y la voz de Brian, qué más se puede pedir!
Watched Interstellar yesterday, and today I was reading about the meanings behind Bohemian Rhapsody lyrics (absolutely not related), then this song was mentioned and I found this. “They” brought me here.
omg, "letters in the sand" Somebody in the movie really loved this song... I mean, I don't get it, everything is sooo relatable! Love Queen, love Brian, love Interstellar.
When I first saw that in the movie, my mind went immediately to this song... even before the ending of the film played out. Yeah; the "call-back" was kind of obvious... to those who were already aware of the song. Otherwise, it was just sort of ... there. Puzzling. But for the aficionados of the obscure... 🙂
Murphy "No parents should watch their child die. I have my kids now. You go" Cooper "Where?" Murphy "brand" ...she pitied her father and told him to go get brand and live the life that was still ahead of him. Once I thought how cold of Murphy to do that to her father, and then my mom told me if she had to bury me, she'd dig 2 graves so I better not die before her. Shut me up real quick.😂
The song was written in 1975. The astrophysicist wrote the song. The film was released in 2014. Song 39 is the perfect movie soundtrack! The difference BETWEEN THE RELEASE OF THE SONG AND THE RELEASE OF THE FILM is exactly 39 years! Coincidence?! Unlikely
