Did anyone see "submitted for your approval"?. He fought in ww2.It doesnt take a crystal ball to have knowlege of dictators,( he was brillient). They guy who made the comment about him trying to be nostradamos, did that before biden took office. Probably still puffing on a bong
serling just described maga and the gay lobby. the left and the right. the dems and the GOP! we've recieved warnings of the coming of this day for centuries and we ignored them. now the police-state is here. those on the left blame the right. the right blames the left. when the reality is BOTH sides denounce fascism unless it enforces THEIR agenda. humanity is now a slave species. its lost touch with all reality.
Well said, Mr. Serling. This man not only articulated his thoughts with poise and eloquence - while doing so he also managed to smoke one-hundred-and-fifty filterless Chesterfield cigarettes per diem...now THAT takes true commitment!
0:14 Serling is one of the main reasons i bought a Hamilton Ventura as one of my first real watches. Him, Elvis, and MIB made that watch so cool to me.
What amazingly accurate, succinct and eloquent words Mr. Serling gave us. Key words: not a future that will be but a future that might be. He also gives us the two key concepts that *do* define every dictatorship: (i) logic is an enemy; and (ii) truth is a menace. May I humbly suggest that we all collectively wake up and smell the Java? The "future that might be" is seemingly uncomfortably close.
Cool video!! Were you 3/7th Infantry Div? I was stationed at Ft. Benning and trained against an OPFOR as a member of the newly reactivated HHC 2/14th 10th Mountain Division at this particular MOUT site, which at that time was brand new. It was our first FTX as a unit in Januaryof '86, as we had just returned from Christmas block leave. I'm just wondering if this is the same exercise from that time and if you were a member of that OPFOR. I believe we were defending the "town". Do you have any thoughts or recollections on this particular exercise? 🤔
Yes, I was in C co. 3/7 infantry. This video was taken in early 1986 but I'm not sure which month. In this case, our opfor was another company from the same battalion, I think it was b co.
Do you remember a large scale training exercise at Ft. Hunter Ligget in California in I believe it was June or August of '86. (July was block leave). I believe we ( 10th Mountain) trained with you guys as OPFOR in the 7th ID.
God I miss Rod Serling, You can tell he was heavily influenced by the likes of Mark Twain or George Orwell, such a beautifully poetic way of talking that immediately grabs the attention of those who are listening. Sadly gone.
The only better ending to this Rod Serling saga is that he would say: one that would be, and not might be....welcome to 2021. I believe that Rod Serling was an optimist. He could not have known how prophetic, he might be. :(
nibu nibu: I reckon Rod Serling emerged from his Mother's womb smoking a Chesterfield (and delivering a monologue). Rod: "This womb wallops both a good whoopie and a whopping me."
But they can try. Bear a couple of things in mind about Rod: The (original) Twilight Zone was effectively the first Stateside network television show produced by a writer...that's the way he wanted it...and he was a paratrooper in the 11th Airborne, principally fighting on Leyte and in Manila.
