Hey man, great vid. Since you skate with marsblade chassis, can I ask do you think you'd keep em on for league play, or do you think they'd be too heavy or not as stable compared to a straight or hi lo setup?
Couldn't give an honest helpful answer since I haven't skate in a hi-lo set up in ages. The idea behind hi-lo is very similar to that of the marsblades, however , with the marsblades you get more constant contact with the ground for more glide. On top of that I've only had the training chasis. If you get the roller one, it could be stronger and lighter for game play.
I went to buy some supreme skates but they didn't fit right. I felt pain in certain spots. I was about to leave because I tought both supreme and vapor are for the same foot shape and the difference is only the forward pitch, stifftness and design. Some guy from the back of the shop told me to try vapor, because there are some differences in the foot shape they fit. Bang! The vapora x2.9s were perect fit, like socks.... So it's not only up to your skating preferences. The suoreme mach came out with a wider toe section, so I went to try .... Still no good. Hyperlite, perfect fit. So ther's still differce between them. I still have my x2.9 vapors and I love them.
Great video and skills demonstration. Cheers May I please know the brand and type of street hockey puck you are using in the video. Thank you in advance.
I have super flat feet also. Im heading to Pure Hockey this Friday and hopefully they have that Bauer 3D scan there. That takes a lot of the guessing work out! I dont want to spend 300 to 400 dollars on skates for them to fucking murder my feet on the ice
Would love some more ideas for dryland goalie work. I have a ton of things for skaters but like a lot of coaches, my knowledge of the goalie position and drills to improve is lagging. Thanks!
Suggested a 9 but I went down to an 8.5. And these are Bauer Skate Sizes, so its independent of US, AUS, UK etc foot shoe sizes. Hope that makes sense.
Holy shit what an incredible video, and the progression from basic skills to advanced make it simple to apply in practice or games. I wish you still made content, well done!
So all I ever see is the reviews and personal feelings on the Pro Level skates. What about some m info on the one step down like the Bapor 3x Pros etc. even the guys at Hockey Tutorials always say the Pro NHL boot would be too much for the normal beer leaguers, yet that only talk about the Pro NHL level skates.
Could you do a video about catching passes in stride? On my offwing I’m consistently switching between skating backwards through the neutral zone to present a forehand target for the pass or skating forwards and trying to catch on my backhand or dig a pass off the wall. Any tips would help and be appreciated.
I've only watched a few videos but so far so good. Clear and concise with good explanations of how the concept of the video applies at different levels. Great work.
