Thanks for this surprising patch. I follow the entire tuto, I must read many times the end part, MidiGate in S&H in Att1 CV, the idea killed me (but it's ok now). It's a great idea but ive needed time to understand it. Hope, 4 years later, that you go better now and that you're healed.
Have you considered making a video showing things worth mentioning that you learned since The Neutron playlist Era? Using banana cables in interesting ways / feedback loops comes to mind.
I learned a lot about synthesis making those videos and I still have the neutrons but not sure I have anything further to contribute on them. I'd like to think I know more now than I did then, but when it comes to the Neutron I don't know, hopefully revisit them one day though.
Thank you for the interesting video, The sounds are great! :) I'm interested in starting with Behringer's synthesizers. Could you recommend whether the Crave or the Edge is better for a beginner?
Hi the crave would be more ideal..as the edge drum orientated. The crave is based in the moog mother 32 and the edge is based on the moog drummer from another mother.
@@avrilcadabra Hi. Sorry to bother you again, but I just found out about Arturia MiniBrute 2S The price is less than the Crave and the Neutron together. Would you say that it is the better choice to start with semi-modular synths?
Simple idea, a litle difficult to follow the patch way and the role of each, but the good point is that I can replay the vid to understand ! A good idea to have volume at same level for each shape wave. Cool. Thanks for this video.
I know 80s and syntheave but can M8 Tracker MK2 do more than these? It seem like everyone buy it just to make these even rhe promotion ads, also if I want my first music learning and making device, should I get it or OP-1 Field, just one without getting any extra addition to make music like ultra modern music?
I am mostly a chiptune musician, but to try an explain in one comment, chiptune requires very precise powerful sequencing, very few hardware sequencers can do this. can make whatever music you want on the m8. The op1 workflow, is more about live play and committing to tape. that might be more fun for some people. not everyone wants to stare at hex numbers all day like on the m8. ( I do though)

Just meaning you can change all the parameters of a sid chip at 50hz in Assembly using irq interrupts to sync to screen refreshes or faster if you don't. A track like Rob Hubbards Commando has quite a bit going on and a good showcase hardsync and ring modulation being turned on an off at a very fast rate
Great vid. I've got only one neutron, but time I've masterised it, It will take me few years. :^) You write "move LFO Uni Out to ENV2 out", you mean to "ENV2 In" ? GReat drum and Neutron on this rythm. Thanks for this video.
That's badass!! Great work all round. The snapshot mode is so powerful for live exploration. It's a huge part of what makes the Machinedrum and other Elektron gear really fun - the ability to save a good working state, completely fuck it up without worrying, then immediately reload it. It lends itself to a lot of fun tinkering, and it's amazing to see it here on the M8! Does the snapshot mode only work on the OMX-27?
sorry for the late reply, you can use the snap shot just on the m8 itself, its done by pressing the copy combo on the mixer screen to copy, and paste combo to reload the snapshot, its pretty much instant, but its ever soooo slightly not as tight as on elektrons as they are storing in ram. I have a digitakt an yeah messing stuff up with control all was a blast
Happy to help if I can, jump on the discord and ask, sure lots of users have different methods. Though I feel like the M8 really makes it easy to finish songs vs making loops (though sometimes you make an epic loop thats hard to make into a song)
I have posted the full song render there, directly from the M8's sd card ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vE_OAc_NsIA.html . M8 is extremely good at doing chiptune / post chiptune genre stuff
I kind of get the notes down when writing a lead like this, then go in do the fine detail stuff, Just try and make every single note the best it can be in regards to vibrato, bends, legato, slides etc leave no note unturned.
Great work, I can hear the tapping and those wild bends that go an extra step or two further that are a signature to Steve's style. You even got a couple hits on the whammy bar! 👍
It's incredible ! The synth which make sound instead of silence ! or the synth you can play sound without playing sound. Or whatever, it's fun. Thanks for this video very impressive. I'm not sure to understand how you can self oscillate the filter but I can try with three oscillator. :^))
nice, I made the Digital Destruction tutorial a week after making this one, and had a much better understanding of what was happening here, if you like this one you will love that one.
Thank you, I grew up listening to Sid music on my c64 games and I think if you listen to stuff like Martin Galway and Rob Hubbard did at that time can hear that stuff inspired me throughout my life. Example, Galways wizball ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-i5HvBapWKAE.html
