Just want to say thanks for this video. Im going to try to fix my pot as well. The disc does spin. And i know when the gamecube is on long enough, im assuming its heating up. It finally reads the disc. So im thinking its the power of the pot weakening.
It seems that the fuse is discontinued. I added a link in the description for a site that has it for $6 but the reviews on Trustpilot are not so good. I can't seem to find a substitute with the same specs...
I bought a PS2 Slim today for $20 at my local flea market it’s turns out there’s rust inside of it when I put a disc in it and turn it on I don’t hear the disc spinning when I lay my ear on top of the disc tray not sure it’s repairable otherwise i am out of that $20 it’s one of the last version of the PS2 it’s a 2007 model which was made the year after the PS3 was released.
Might be water damaged or stored in a place with high humidity. Does it power up? If it doesn't, you might want to look at the power supply. Worst case, you can sell it as-is for about the same price you got it and break even
Hi, after watching your video I realized that my device might have the same issue. I have a WaterPik Water Flosser Model WP-660UK and it stop working suddenly. Where can I get the Part Number for the thermal Fuse for this model? Thanks for the video it is a great help!
Got mine from Amazon, but here's another site that carries them: www.nextwarehouse.com/item/?2076868_g10e. I've never purchased from them, so I don't know if they're a reliable source.
Help! I have this model PS3 and tore it down because the battery needed to be replaced. I was the first person to disassemble it. I’ve had a fair amount of experience with PS2s servicing my Test station, but this was my first time with this revision. Upon reassembly I’m getting no picture output. Scratching my head as to why….
My GameCube's clock is dying so I go into the menu to set it up but then I notice that the game has not loaded and gives me a reading error but after trying it a few times like 1 or 2 times maybe, it works! Is it because of the battery or is it that I also need to adjust the laser power?
@@TRUFixes Thanks for the late response... but I replaced the battery already, a new problem has come into place however. The GameCube no longer plays audio... I have tried different cables and different TV's so I can confirm it's the Cube...
@@pacthesir The most obvious thing to look for is to make sure that all the connectors/plugs are seated all the way in. If that looks good, then there might be an issue with the audio driver or the actual port (make sure that there are no bent/broken pins). Unfortunately, I've yet to troubleshoot a GC with audio issues, so I don't have any first-hand knowledge. Good luck and let me know if you are successful!
@@TRUFixes Everything fits solid, I have seen a lot of people say it may have something to do with the digital A/V out port having a "voltage overload" and it can affect the analog A/V out's audio chip.
Great video. I think you should have strapped the thermal fuse to the body of the motor like it was from the factory. The purpose of the thermal fuse is to open if the motor gets too hot. Just my opinion.
Oddly enough, your teardown and your assembly made more logical sense than others I had seen. Found it largely helpful in my own attempts. I found trouble in certain steps along the way but your teardown and reassembly side steps all the issues with one minor exception the power button but I'm thinking even in a PS2 Fat that is an Ntsc-U/C I'll be able to do much the same even though the power button is attached to the top shell. Thank you.
@@TRUFixes it was leaving the one screw in by the fan to hold the board together while having the top shell put back on to invert it to remove the bottom for the sake of a little more hands free access. It made it a little simpler in regards to not having to necessarily remove ribbon cables on the DVD drive. Not really a fan of messing with older ribbon cables unless absolutely necessary. If I had a steadier pair of metal tweezers then maybe I wouldn't mind so much. More of an access/steady pressure issue due to the fragility of the older ribbon cables. Granted I found a way to make lifted pins on a ribbon cable look like a fun fix by lifting a pad on a board completely off 😂😂😂😆
Thank you,I fixed my water pik but it was't the fuse. Was the little pump on the botton with mouthrinse crystalised inside,I pull it out several times and it come off. Cleaned ,little vaceline and works perfect.
I can't read the brand, but I got it from Amazon. It comes in a syringe container. If I can figure out the exact brand, I'll post it in the description
So far, I haven't seen too many issues with the board itself. If the board is the problem, then you would need to get a new motherboard and drive from another unit. I've read that you can try to transfer the main drive chip from the defective board to the donor board, but I've never tried it.
Not sure what nails you're referring to, but most of the parts are pushed in with some effort. If you have a jewelers hammer with a plastic head, that'll will help too. Good luck!
Dude I repair consoles. I can’t stop laughing from the record scratching and the F-up. I hate when that happens and the e is the hardest case to get open. Hahahahaha.
Hi, I have the exact model as you in this video, I truly do not know why, but it has a little rust near of the control connector. Exactly in this minute of the video 8:54 you grab the part of what I am talking about. What kind of scotch pad did you use? I mean, the grade of that scotch pad. Thank you very much for upload this video, and I apologize for my english, I hope that you can understand my comment. :)
@@TRUFixes Thank you, fixed it. I had over tightened the two small screws at the base. I have now reassembled the hose and it works like before. Thank you so much!
I wonder if the old DVD-fixing trick of hot water might help to reduce the appearance of scratches on that top piece. You'd need a large pyrex dish with a flat bottom. But since it's nothing more than plastic, you could use boiling water and a longer submerged time. NIce video.
thanks for the video, decided to revive mine and your video was the only good one that matched my ps2, managed to change the battery and clean it a bit
Well done and thanks for the video, i opened my ps2 today to change the internal battery and I'm using your video as a guide. Hope everything will work after i put it back together Sorry for the bad english
Hi. Thank you for the view. I usually make it a habit to replace it, but I was out of thermal paste and since I'll be adding this to my collection, I can add it later.
Hi TRU I bought this water flosser in the US and used it in Europe in 220V outlet, my resister looks Burnt, & i'll replace it. If i'll use a transformer can i use it in 220v outlet? And can i replace the motor to a 220v dc motor without using transformer? Thanks
Thanks for the Video TRU Fixes! My Gamecube is a DOL - 001 and also can't read disks. Hopefully I can fix the problem! Just gonna figure out what Value ohms I'll need to aim for lol
