It is only those ignorant a## BLK Bush Queens, who are highly jealous of that WW and embarrassing themselves all over the world and proving what people say about therm is true.
There is always a way to fix something. An All Star Weekend is an easy fix, but it takes balls to do it. First those divas have to learn that this is a job like any other with the difference that they get paid and absurd amount of money for it. And in like any other job if you don´t perform your contract will be determinated and you are out. Put an extra clause in the contract. If selected for an All Star Game you got to participate and bring at least 70% of your maximum. If not so you are out of the league. I bet my life on it that every player would bring at least 90% effort out of fear to fall under those 70% and lose hundrets of millions that way. You´ll get an health check by leagues own doctors so you can´t fake an injury. If they would come up with something similar like this I bet my life again that in 5 years the competitive integrity in All Star game would come back organicly and players would see it as an privilege to participate in the game to messure their skill with oter best players in the league. I would also cut any votings. Most fans are just casuals and don´t know a damn thing about the game, most reporters are bias just like players are with that buddy buddy attitude. Coches are also not the right choice for the votes. Maybe they coached a player in the past and had some differences so they don´t like each other and that coach won´t vote for that player. Bring it back to positions. 2 PGs, 2 SG, 2 SF, 2 PF, 2 C based on their performance before the weekend. That years coach has the right to select 2 other players of his choice to fill up the roster. Not only will that improve the All Star Game but will also improve players performance during the season because then they would want to participate in that game. This years 3pt contest between Steph and that girl was a disgrace. First, them girls got their own league and their own All Star Weekend. Second if she wants to participate in men´s 3pt contest then do it wit ball size 7 like men do. Wanna be equal the be it 100%.
they need to make it like a charity based thing where hard play is rewarded through charitable causes. Don’t know how it would work but players not playing hard would be awful for their brand
from what i heard i think the east and west teams play for their respective charities already, maybe individually the players play for their own charities ? idk, sumn gotta change though
It’s gotta be Lebron or Darvin eventually. Tom and Jalen and the rest of the Knicks have a cohesive strategy for success right now. They’re hustlers. They’re grinders. They’re action not words. I think Lebron and Brony both on the Knicks would generate revenue but not wins. Also, Brunson is a superstar. I don’t know why anyone would think otherwise.
When I was a little kid after a death in the family hit me really hard, a family friend saved up for like 3 months to take me to see a "real" basketball game in person. I think the biggest name who played in that game was Brent Barry and I only remember him bc he went off that game and he won a dunk contest. My grandfather had gotten me and my sister into basketball and we followed the local team really closely. We scrapbooked news articles, collected all the stuff sold at stores, players cards, etc. So when he passed, we stopped paying any attention bc it was so painful. I'm sure that family friend would have preferred we had also seen the bigger names play and I probably was robbed of something special bc they didn't. I won't know, I'm still happy w/ what I got, but I REALLY wish more players would adopt that mentality that Allen Iverson had. That there is probably some kid in that crowd that is seeing him play for the first time in their life. That kid might not get to see him play in person ever again, or may not even get to see another pro game. It might be just another day at work for the players or a night out for the wealthy season ticket holders, but EVERY game is special to some person in that crowd. Some parent saved up, went hungry, worked an extra job or something else absolutely ridiculous so that their kid could experience something special. That's a lot of pressure to put on someone, but there's a reason why those guys get paid better than the CEO's of the biggest corporations in the world. And almost every person you'll ever see dressed to play has signed a rookie deal that guaranteed them more money than some of the people in that crowd will make in their entire lives. No one is asking the players to kill themselves, just to remember to someone in that crowd, that night is going to be one of the biggest nights in their entire life.
It's also worth examining that exception with Walton's 78 season. Even at the time, there was a lot of criticism for that MVP, which I consider justified, but we have to look at the context as to WHY he was MVP. First, not only did Walton lead his team to a league best 58 wins, his absence made it clear that his team was hopeless without him. They went 10-14 without him, but with him they were on pace for an all-time 68 wins. If you look at the award of determining regular season impact, determined by the position he put his team in heading into the playoffs, you can't get any better than being the difference between the first overall seed and missing the playoffs entirely, which he was. Doesn't matter if he only played 58 games, that was enough, and any more would have just been padding. While the 76ers are 4-11 without Embiid, most of those games were road losses vs good teams. In 2023, they were 11-5 without Embiid. However, the MAIN reason Walton got MVP was that it was kind of a 'make up' MVP. When he beat the MVP Kareem in the playoffs, won a ring, then led his team to regular season domination the following year, he was kind of viewed as 'deserving' the MVP the following year. There was also MVP fatigue for Kareem, who had just dominated the ballots in recent years. It's stupid that his previous year's playoff success factored into the following year's MVP voting, but there always has been and will always be narrative factors for MVP races. So yea, that's the context for Walton's 58 game MVP in a full season. It's rare enough for a single player to be the difference between 1st overall and lottery in just 58 games, and when combined with the narrative it created a perfect storm.
I did the math, if you assume a 5 day work week (52x5=260), that would be equivalent to expecting full pay for only working 205 days out of your work year, THEN wanting awards from your boss the same as someone who put in all those days. I get that there are legitimate grievances about being incentivized to play through injuries, but there’s a clause to help that. Imo, accolades should go to THE most valuable player, and playing more games at a higher level is more valuable to me than higher production in less games
I'm not trying to be an old head but back then, take MJ for examples, he made sure not to miss games if he could help it knowing there's a lot of people out there spend their hard earned money buying tickets so they could watch him play, feeling an obligation to give back to the fans of the game who kept this boat afloat. That's PROFESIONALISM. These entitled players, who have the privilege to earn waaay more than those before them, saying this 65 games rule is stupid? Man, miss me with that bullshit. These stars are getting paid an insane amount of money billions others would die for, so the LEAST they could do is to do your fuckin' job that reflect their salaries, if you can do 80%, then get on the freaking court. (yes, I'm talking to you Zion and Ben!)
Ahhh simp’n ain’t easy ! lol I appreciate the try but….?? lol these girls need 9 inch rims . Otherwise you just simp’n . Think there’s been 10 dunks in wnba history .people will only tune in to see Steph curry simp and let a girl beat him ! Lol the men are tired of paying these girls salaries . Hoping they can get some viewers off this .earn these girls some money .without taking it out the nba’s pocket.
i’m saying! if ur hurt, ur hurt that’s different for sure. but, if you can play there’s no reason why you should be sitting out on a job you get paid MILLIONS to do. this has been a problem since like 2017 almost.
