Very cool bro! I'm seriously thinking about building one right now. An idea; thinking motion control and adding a parabolic vector tracking to allow rotation. Just set a distance from Target and the camera stays locked on the target. That would be super freaking sweet. It'd be some serious batteries to get that speed out of a stepper though lol.

I would love to, but that's a lot of work. However, the principle is quite simple, but with a lot of custom made metal and carbon fiber parts. The system is based on the same roller and rail as most 3D printers, only scaled up to get 1.5 m travel range. The propulsion is provided by an air rifle spring and a push rod, and the braking by a spring and buffer assembly. At each end of travel there is an catch trigger and a corresponding sear on the slider, both hardened. Maybe, but if it's the test by fifth gear your referring to then you might have to take into account that they removed the engine from the Volvo and it's has somewhat of a structural influence for offset collisions. // Best regards Daniel Nilsson
@@sgt.mckenzie91bomber36 i also believed there was no engine but if you pause at exactly right time you can see the engine was there. there was also a claim they chopped off the chassis to make it easier to crumble but who knows
@ Daniel Nilsson Engines are liabilities in collisions, not assets. Engine mounts aren’t designed to take those stresses plus have to isolate vibrations from the chassis. The engine of course is very strong but with nothing to restrain it it will give you no advantage. One of the most difficult parts of a frontal collision is ensuring the engine goes under the firewall rather than through it... not an issue with no engine and the ability for the engine to be displaced in such a manner is a hallmark feature of Volvos crumple zones. The 1959 Belair in the IIHS test is also often erroneously cited as not having an engine... but it’s the engine that actually pushes the dashboard in in that case. The 740 was never designed for a frontal offset collision. It’s relative child’s play to design for a head on collision (Volvo only decided to do it... other manufacturers followed suit quickly when it became regulated). The frontal offset made for a far bigger challenge and many vehicles not designed for it simply couldn’t handle it. Honda abandoned their amazing double wishbone suspension for MacPherson struts partly because of lower manufacturing costs but mainly because of the better offset collision performance. And they went even further to the small overlap.

1: its 200km/h. Nothing is built to absorbe that speed. 2: cant see the damages as its outside the camerawindow. 3. Rear end are softer than front to avoid neck injuries, but the Ascona was terrible.. believe that its friends also are (Escort, Starlet, Sunny, Polo, 323 ect..)

Sorry, I can't help you with that. I would recommend that you search for a simpler Arduino Camera Slider, ie. DIY, and use there code instead. The most difficult part about this printer, which I still have problem with, is to keep both of the nozzles at the same height over the whole print bed. And that is because of play in the bearings, especially the linear bearings which are, at least on mine, quite poor. As advise I would recommend you to start by leveling the bed to be totally perpendicular with the Z-axis, i.e. horizontal. Later ease of the screws that hold the mount for the diagonal rods, and move the mount slightly up or down until the two heads are level on the whole bed. The you are ready to calibrate the end switches against the print bed. Also try to remove any play in the mounts for the diagonal rods by using small nylon washers, preferably before all the calibrating.
