That’s how I was taught to solder, and it applies to copper plumbing the same way. The guy who taught me had about 50 years experience, and it’s always worked for me.
Btw, the nasty looking grease on the hub spline you wiped out is a special grease and the one that should be used. The Honda service manual calls for it specifically. Molybdenum disulfide grease containing more than 3% molybdenum disulfide, NLGI #2 or equivalent. Example: molycote BR2 plus/ Dow corning
We watched a video about installing a signal light conversion kit so your sxs tail light would work as signal light brake light.. . It’s suppose to work as a trailer hooked to a truck. So the sxs tail lights work like vechile lights. But my husband says he is afraid since no one gave step by step directions he will burn the wiring on the whole sxs. I bought this exact ATV, used. The previous owner did not know what the right lever was for. I cannot find any info on it specifically. One forum said it was a front brake, but I see no cable and there is only an electrical connection and tip point of contact when levered.
I get to fix my cousins stuff, he got the 1000 in 2020 and breaks everything. About 20 tie rod ends so far. a few axles, a few ball joints, etc. Well he tells me his havent been working right for a few months, then front axle flew out. I go to assess it, and turns out all 4 wheel bearings went bad, the lose bearings caused the brake issues from floppy rotors, and made the front axle cv fail and fly out. The upper a arm bushings on drivers side are failed, along with all 4 a arm bushings in the rear. LOL at the bearing prices mentioned at the end. They ain't 25 bucks a piece anymore thanks to Build Back Better.
The bearings are sealed so you're not actually greasing the bearing. The grease is just filling the inside of the hub to keep dirt and water away from the bearing. I believe the tool is a 40mm for a 1000 Pioneer. I bought a 44mm off of eBay and it won't fit inside the bearing.
its split in the center, and as you see on the tool, it pushes grease in the center split and forces old grease out. Yes it's called a sealed bearing, because its technically not greaseable, but this tool he has is how its greased.
If you don’t want to do the mile marker 2wd conversion right away. Does it makes sense to just do the locking hubs install only? What are your thoughts on that?
I have the Kawasaki spare tire rack and a spare tire and the tender springs gave out fast. Was not impressed. I decided to replace all of the springs with Shock Therapy springs and have not been disappointed. They are holding up great. Our KRX is a 2021 and it's been holding up great (except for the stock springs).
I am curious why you chose the Kawasaki after having a Pioneer. I last spoke with you when I asked about the pioneer in the dunes. I told you I had Pioneer 1000-3 LE. After I started buying stuff to get my pioneer ready for a dune trip. I sold it and bought a Talon. I am just curious what made you go to the Kwai after the honda.
Feb 02 2024.. I just picked up 2024 Kawa krx 4 1000 se I live in SW Mi. I seen ur video on nose reduction on the panel top above filter. I'm was wondering if you or anyone has tried behind seats in my case would be back seats between motor & seat.. l haven't even 20mi on my unit, picked it up 30 Dec 23 As our Temps warmed to 20° I installed windshield with snow on rds I was able to get it out of garage. I had put 2 drinks in cup holders. One just Gatorade the other a Yetti. I was surprised how much Gatorade warmed up. I could feel warm air coming up thru shifting area. It felt like heater was on. Ya the cold made it feel warmer than it was but heat never less. Have you or those you know tried successfully to block heat transfer into cab area.. Tks.. jmh
I have a old school eiger automatic. Have trouble with the the starting . Hard hard to find someone here in central Ohio to work on the Suzuki. Even even the Suzuki shops anything over five years old. That's crazy.
