Here's an unasked secret: until the A minor part, I had written the whole piece in F minor, but then I remembered (or misunderstood 😂) the suggestion that @rowanbelt3612 gave on my last video, so I transposed the next parts to other keys in a positive chromatic progression, and I WAS SHOCKED WITH HOW IT TURNED OUT!!! It fit really well. I hope you enjoyed it anyway.
My friend, this is a wonderfully energetic piece! Your interpretation of my suggestion is actually quite different than what I had imagined, with many sudden key changes rather than a larger number of chords within one key. The effect of freshness to the ear is the same though! Thanks so much for taking my suggestion, I really appreciate that you did that. Keep up your good work!! Also, sorry I did not comment on this yesterday. I watched it then but I was in a rush. 79memory345 (looks like nobody else read everything haha)
I'm sorry I couldn't get what you meant by the suggestion, but I tried. Thanks for clearing it up, though. Thank you for your kind comment nonetheless, Also, it's never late to comment on ANY of my videos, so don't worry about it. Oh yeah, no one read it for sure. Thanks for being the unique one, as you're already VERY unique.
I think the phrasing/pacing of var 2 in the first memory is especially good. Also, somehow the second memory almost sounds to me like it is a third variation, even though I know it is not! Very nice work. Do you mind if I give you a little suggestion? I don't want to be rude by giving suggestions unasked.
@@peternewseterforever Okay, my thought is that you could explore using a broader range of chords...it seems that most of the time you are only using two chords, tonic and dominant. I think it would be very interesting to hear what you do with other chords, even chromatic ones that are not in the key. I'm curious, which composers do you like?
@rowanbelt3612 Sure, I'll try that in the next piece. I like Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Liszt, and Beethoven for the most part, but I do listen to other pieces from time to time.
That's very kind of you to mention me in the video description, I don't think I deserve that. The beginning reminds me of Brahms' Hungarian Dance No. 5...was this intentional? As always, many interesting choices with dynamics and tempo! Thank you for sharing your work.
First, you *do* deserve it. Second, I get why you hear Hungarian Dance no. 5 there, even though I referenced a different piece (that I forgot🤣). Lastly, thank you so much. It took me a while to make this.
I think the part when it switches to 80 bpm will sound especially good with real instruments! You seem to have a good understanding of how cello works...I am curious, what instruments do you play? Nice work! Thank you for sharing with us.
Thank you very much. I love when people ask this question 🤣: I only play piano, but I always see professional violinists and cellists playing in RU-vid videos, so the inspiration for adding these instruments is from them. I then find the sheet music for the pieces they play, take some of the details found in them, and paraphrase it in my pieces.
I especially liked the firey atmosphere of the third one. And your idea of correlating a dynamic (ff) with a tempo in the last one is very distinctive and interesting! Good work!
