Hello and welcome to my channel. Dedicated to all things minimalist, green/eco friendly, zero waste and vegan. I'd love to get to know like-minded people so please subscribe and comment. If you have a similar channel you think I'd be interested in please let me know so I can subscribe to you too.
We lost our dog last year, we just had a little girl, Millie join our family this week, they really are such beauties to have around. Hope you start feeling better soon xx
My eyebrows have thinned out a lot. I didn’t realise that menopause could have been the cause! I’m nearly 62 now and they haven’t grown back since. Thank goodness for eyebrow pencils.
Loved the way you used the washing machine and dishwasher to get the most cost efficient cycles. I don't think our energy company ever offer us free energy, I'll have to ask my other half who will be the one notified. I'm liking your money saving videos. I work part time and am hoping to retire in a few years, so it's always good to make savings where you can.
I personally love to watch authentic content, meaning not made just to get the most views. I realize it would be amazing to make a ton of money as a creator, but it's usually obvious when that's the goal, and it ultimately feels like we're being manipulated for views, if that makes sense. I enjoy when you post, you are honest and open, and honestly, as a Canadian, i love to peek into your life in the UK! I love the tiny differences in our day to day. I also love thrifty/budget content, so i'm on board! 😊❤
We lost our dog this year. We miss her. My other half would love a Yorkshire terrier. Your little girl looks adorable. We're currently looking after a neighbour's dog for a couple of weeks. It's nice to have a dog in the house again. Good luck with your new journey. I look forward to following your videos about early retirement.
@@earthangel4166 Thank you! Looks like good quality though. I hope you have a speedy recovery - Covid is brutal sometimes ☹️ Your tips are always so useful, happy to see you more often 😊❤️
Hi🥰Just wanted you to know I really like your channel, and that it is encouraging me to lead a more minimalist, low spend and eco-friendly life. Even if it can be hard🤣Please keep sharing videos! xx
You know what? I am a regular viewer of your RU-vid Channel. I have seen all your videos and your content qualities are very good. I learned lots of things from you. Your channel has great quality contents but still it is not delivering its right audiences due to SEO problems. You should focus on your SEO so that You can get a big fanbase. Thanks.
I appreciate your offer but I am not interested in getting extra views, I’m happy with my little group of regular viewers and commenters. You will notice (if you have watched all of my videos) that I never ask people to like and subscribe. I enjoy reading the comments so do ask for comments but not because I want the algorithm to pick up on them.
Love the rain sounds! Very relaxing :) My latest frugal thing I'm doing is making homemade yoghurt. I find yoghurt can be quite expensive, especially the nicer stuff. Making it at home is so easy and it's as cheap as the milk you use to make it! 🧡
I'd love to hear more about your ideas and solutions to zero waste, minimal lifestyle, no and low spend and all kinds of things really. I like to watch and listen to your videos while I knit or declutter! and I am 25 and don't have children, yet I would love to hear about your sustainable things for children! keep it up - as long as it interests you you will find your people! xx
I love the idea of broadening your channel! No spend challenge sounds great, and though my kids are teens, I would still be interested in learning about eco friendly baby/kid stuff! Honestly, even if it doesn't relate specifically to my life, any earth conscious content is inspiring, and makes me feel there's hope!! ❤ 🌎 😊
I've been thinking of doing this challenge but in reverse 30 to 1. I have a lot of bits and I'm likely to lose momentum, so I'd rather have 100+ things gone than <10. What do you think? Will The Minimalists hunt me down and tell me off? lol x
I’ve got déjà vu, Vicky! ☺️😅 Enjoying your videos, as always. Looking forward to hearing about your house move. Would love to see you declutter the garage. I can’t even walk into my garage it’s so full 🫣
I usually bring stuff I don't want to ladies group and give it away. They also host a rummage sale a few times a year. Handy for decluttering. When I give gifts I always say that if they later want to give it away that there's no strings attached. I usually bake cookies or give a favorite candy. Safer gifts.
Our church has its own little charity shop for bric a brac but not clothes. I love the rummage sale idea. I used to love a jumble sale when I was a kid.
I don’t think anyone minds a car video! 🩵 Fantastic job, I’m surprised it’s taken this long before it got difficult! I would love to see a video on what you decided to keep and why 😊
Good luck with house hunting ☺️ We bought our first home last year and it was great motivation to have a clear out. “It got lost in the move” was also a great excuse to get rid of a few ugly old things I’ve always disliked but felt I had to keep as they were gifts, etc 😅
My mother in law and myself always laugh as we keep regifting to each other with the same gift bag. Not sure whether it's about recycling or just being thrifty with money! I wish I could keep plants alive, I love them but I never do very well with them.
I keep my potatoes, onions etc. in the canvas bags I don’t need now 😜 Oh, I am 39 and for a couple of years now I cross my legs when I sneeze if you know what I mean 😅 A lot of other women my age do too.
Jars definitely count. I know i have some that I'm a bit too attached to, (they're so pretty!), but you're right, more jars will come with future food, so we don't need to keep the old ones. Glass is also something i dont feel bad about recycling, because isn't it mostly 100 percent recyclable, over and over again?? Compared to plastic, which can only be recycled once or twice? Something like that! So you're right, we should almost treasure plastic more (but not buy any!)! 😅
I could probably get rid of some glass containers. I bought some with bamboo lids and the lids go all mouldy after they have been washed and stored for a while. I find them very annoying!
I collect jars, too, and use them for all sorts of things like freezing servings of beans that I’ve cooked from scratch, or dividing a larger jar of spaghetti sauce for the freezer. I use tiny little jars for my homemade deodorant or spooning in coconut oil that I use as a moisturizer. I like reusing the heavy ziplock-style bags that contained walnuts I purchased. And, although I regret asking for the occasional plastic bag in the grocery store when I’ve forgotten my cloth ones, I do reuse them for trash. One of my most favorite reuses is that of the newspaper (given to us by a neighbor once he’s finished with it) which we read and I then fold into a shape that fits my wastebaskets. All to hopefully benefit the planet and because I’ve come to detest wastefulness of any kind. Thanks for your video!
I love the idea of freezing half the spaghetti sauce in a smaller jar! We've wasted so many jars that have gone moldy before we use the full jar, embarrassing really 😳. I'll try to remember your trick for next time. 😊
I agree that bladder issues need to be talked about more! :) I´m not that age yet, but someday I will be probably. btw- loved your smile at 14.07 when you play with the fidget toy! :D
Thank you, it is easier to talk bladder weakness with those close but harder in a public forum. What will people think of me? I’ve always worried what others will think of me.
I moved across Canada twice in 2023 for a family situation. Believe me that nothing underlines how valueless your stuff is when you are trying to get rid of it. Free doesn't work, because people are suspicious of free. I tried donating, but charities are pretty choosy about what they take. Screw 'em. A lot of stuff ended up in the dumpster when no one wanted it. I shipped the stuff most important to me in 20 cartons via Canada Post. Cost was abt $1000 each way. Movers would have charged triple. I am extremely choosy now about what I buy and bring in to my new abode. It has to earn its keep.
I completely understand. I really struggle with throwing things away because no one wants them, it seems so wasteful which is probably why I have too much stuff. We are hoping to downsize soon so a lot will have to go. It has definitely taught me not to buy things just because I like/want them but to be sure I actually need them.
I’m marvelling at how well you’re doing! Day 19, that’s impressive! If my maths is correct that 190 items in total so far 🤩 Have you noticed a difference in your home? Is it feeling less cluttered? ☺️
I haven’t really noticed much of a difference yet. Our house has too many rooms we don’t use so it has become easy to ‘store’ stuff without really noticing we have it. I’m hoping now I’m on a roll I’ll keep going.
I love that you get milk delivered! Is that common where you live, or is it something you have to arrange? I wish it was more common where i live in Canada, where our milk comes in plastic bags... not recyclable, but i do try to reuse them around the house. 🥛 🌎💕
You have to sign up and it’s more expensive than buying it from the supermarket but I like that I can get milk and yoghurt (also fresh juice but we don’t drink it) in glass bottles which are returned and reused.
Someone will find these things and will be super happy to have them, much better them being useful than staying for a "just in case" time. I find it hard to declutter the Christmas decor even though I find each year I put less and less out as I feel it looks to cluttered, I always pack it back up and it goes back in the loft for another year, maybe this year I can be a bit stricter!
Christmas decor is something I’m going to have to address too. We have so much and I love Christmas but we don’t put all the decorations up yet I can’t seem to get rid of them.
Love these daily videos, they’re really inspiring me ☺️ Found a few things yesterday that I put aside for the charity shop and although it’s sometimes hard to let go it’s nice to think that it’s going to a good cause. Even if things sell for a few pounds, if you donate 15 things that really adds up 🧡
I completely agree, so difficult to try to reduce the things we have but doing it responsibly. It can really hamper the move forward. I always take the napkins for my handbag! Im the same with sugar if my husband picked up too many sachets, I dont want it just thrown away, in my bag it goes!
