TRON Legacy is my all time favorite Disney live-action film....(and I loved the original as well). Director Joe Kosinsky did a great job in reviving a 30+ year old film, and has proven himself quite adept at improving on the original tale. (He did, later, do Top Gun Maverick, which went on to be a $1Billion+ success...and in my opinion, the best movie to have come out in the last two decades at least). Kosinsky did great respect to Steven Lisberger's original TRON, and Lisberger was even part of the team behind Legacy. The soundtrack (Daft Punk and Joseph Trapanese...who did the music for the animated TRON Uprising on Disney XD...you can hear the influences between both soundtracks) is beautiful to listen to, and the end titles theme always hits me in the heart. Visual effects are excellent. I love how they redid the tanks, the light cycles and the recognizers.....hi-rez, so to speak. Nice reconception behind the identity discs. Nostalgia is present, but not in your face....most of the time it's subtle.... like the name on Sam's garage/home, seeing the classic TRON video game with "Separate Ways" by Journey pumping in the background at Flynn;s (which looked lovingly recreated for this film). Quorra and Jem are hotties in this movie. Zuse (Michael Sheen) steals the show in the few moments he's featured. I liked the character of Sam Flynn....conflicted son of Kevin Flynn, but comes around. Jeff Bridges' return as Kevin Flynn felt triumphant. I wish Alan Bradley's (Bruce Boxleitner...the original TRON) role would've been more than just a cameo, but hey, I'm sure there were reasons. Overall, this film is far better than critics gave it any credit for. It is epic.
When ED209 foot twitched at the end of the move, the producers asked the stop motion producer to put something comedic in the scene because the movie was so serious and that’s how we got the foot twitch.
It is funny..as an adlib....but where the desert scenes were filmed..the floor of the desert is made up of a million years of crustacions..and Will Smith says…”And what is,that smell?”..I didn’t get it til I read it..
It'll always make me chill how Sam's very presence on Flight 180 is essentially what triggered Alex's premonitions, since Death wasn't done with Sam yet, which inadvertently caused Molly's death, despite her being the sole survivor in Sam's bridge premonition.
I think there was some kinda link specifically between Wendy, Kevin & Frankie, because Frankie took their seats on the rollercoaster, which maybe meant he pushed them to the end of Death's list and inadvertently put himself in their place, but Death probably still had it out for the 3 of them simultaneously, due to that cross of seating. So, maybe Death was trying to end Wendy, Kevin & Frankie altogether in the drive thru by trying to crush Wendy & Kevin in the pickup truck & launch the engine fan into Frankie's head.
One of my faves. The thing that always bugged me though, is that the prophecy said that Hades would fail if Hercules fought. He didn't actually have to have his strength--he just needed to join the fight. But yeah, Meg is my all-time favorite female character (with Lilo and Chicha running close behind).
The sene whare he,s going down the wivver at a fast pace like that kind of reminds like Arlo when he like fell into you guys probably don’t know what I,m tocking about
(At 20:05) This "herbivore" is literally hard-headed, they will kill you upon impact. Think of it like getting hit with a sledgehammer in the chest by 3 of the world's strongest men in our world.
Emily confided to Tom..at some point that she was a couple of months pregnant ..and the armor suit weighed at least 45 lbs…and it was tough ..to walk around in it..
