Honestly, the dad talking about like being shattered into 1 million pieces instead of the meteor was a good thing, he is strong but he’s not immortal. I feel like that’s a good conversation to have if you’re one of the most powerful superheroes and you have a child, it’s good to not make them genuinely believe that nothing will happen to their parents, they’re still human

Probably my favorite thing about Sky High is that its 'campiness' comes from practicalities. Not just the school nurse having x-ray vision or a hero with super-strength having a drawer full of spare phones, but that such a school would very much need Ron Wilson. The world is amazingly well-fleshed, brimming with subtleties which would be glaring by their absence.

Honestly, the school sort of perpetuates the sidekick hate. So warren peace's villianess tendency almost is true to form. Most heroes become villains just because they have power and the sidekicks cant defend themselves. The copycat kid was normal and then he got a little power and was with the "popular" kids and he instantly picked on the sidekicks. Warren Peace in the grand scheme is a hero according to the skewed logic the school has created and thrives on.

This film is Easily without a doubt one of Disney’s most underrated films and superhero films from the early-mid 2000’s. Just the chemistry of the cast and the action + comedy were worth watching and it’s unfortunate that Disney hardly acknowledges the film’s existence and seems more content with having the Marvel Cinematic Universe instead. I do hope we get a sequel or a Disney+ series based on Sky High someday. It’s literally the _My Hero Academia_ before _My Hero Academia_ Finally some Fun Facts: 1. Mike Mitchell the director of _Sky High_ would later direct _Shrek Forever After,_ _Trolls_ and the upcoming _Kung Fu Panda 4_ for DreamWorks Animation 2. Principal Powers’ quote _"I'm not Wonder Woman, you know.”_ is a nod to Lynda Carter playing Wonder Woman in the 1970’s Wonder Woman series 3. Bob Schooley and Mark McCorkle who served as the co-writers for _Sky High_ served as the creators/show runners for _Kim Possible_ and _Big Hero 6: The Series_ 4. Dave Foley and Kevin McDonald both work together on the Sketch Comedy, The Kids in the Hall with a series lasting from 1988 to 1995 5. The couple who almost got crushed by the Sky High school when they were about to buy the House are portrayed by Tom Kenny and Jill Talley who worked together in many voiceover projects such as SpongeBob and Camp Lazlo, the former where they were SpongeBob and Karen (Planktons Computer Wife). Jill was also on _The Loud House_ as Rita Loud (the kids mother).

to me they are a bit different yes they have the comic book element to them but My Hero (at least thus far) doesn't showcase romance and love like sky high does my hero focuses more on the hero aspect of the show and yes does show what life's like for high school hero kids but they focus more on the improvement of the characters growth and hero maturity whereas sky high focused on will and his continuous pressure to be the best he can be not only because he's a superhero child in trainning but also because he's a third generation superhero child of the most famous paring in the universe... he has double the pressure... and yes so does Izuku being all might's successor but no one beyond a select few knows that he's almights successor they just think he has a super strength/endurance quirk that bloomed late (which when you think about it wouldn't truly make sense since we know children of parents with powers in the my hero universe have a combination of their parents powers so if izuku were to get powers they would have been some combination of telikinisis or fire breath (I believe was the dads) like how bakugo's powers is nitroglicerine explosions wich is a combo of his parents powers

This was the first movie/series reaction channel I ever watched like last summer/fall, now I'm always looking for first time reaction channels. Me too and funny thing is I didn’t know that was Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Gwen/Sue Tenny/Royal Pain cause I Only became familiar with her through her performance as Ramona Flowers in _Scott Pilgrim vs the World_ and then I rewatched _Sky High_ and went "OMG It’s Ramona, how did I not noticed her the first time." Even the same can be said with other actors I first saw but never realized it was them until I saw them in another movie, for instance Anna Kendrick who I saw her in _Scott Pilgrim_ and heard her through _Up in the Air_ and _Twilight_ but didn’t became familiar with her until _Pitch Perfect_ along with David Tennant (who I saw him in Goblet of Fire (but didn’t recognize him), but knew him through _Doctor Who),_ Robert Downey Jr. (saw him Shaggy Dog but knew him as Iron Man), Pedro Pascal (saw him in The Mandalorian but didn’t know he was in The Kingsmen: Golden Circle), Stephanie Hsu (saw her in _Shang Chi_ but knew her in _Everything Everywhere All at Once),_ Asa Butterfield (saw him in Nanny McPhee Returns (didn’t knew he was in the film), but became more familiar with him in Hugo), Chris Evans (knew him as Captain America but didn’t knew nor did I realize he was in Fantastic Four) and Chris Pine (saw him in Princess Diaries 2 (never recognize him), but knew him through the 2009 Star Trek film) and Zoe Saldaña (saw her in Avatar but didn’t realize she was in Star Trek and Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl).

honestly i would have loved to see that in the beginning (warren is one of my favorite characters in the end I love a redemption arc for a villan character) Plus it would have backed up his line during the fight "don't think I can take a beating" or something like that

Yoo before I even knew of DC and Marvel- only knew Superman, Batman, Spiderman, Iron-man just a bit, I loved this movie so much. It's literally one of my childhood memories.

Good days onward to you all; this was the perfect ending movie. I saw this movie one time years ago, and thought I won't see it again because it might ruin how much I liked it. But, this proved me wrong it's still so fun, funny, and well-made. I like how each character was done you know I love me some plant power. I've always thought if it's not super healing, I wanna control plants. Movies like this are what you need when you just want something silly and non bothering.

In the schools I've been in, there is usually a no tolerance policy regarding fights on school ground (regardless who started it). I assume this is the case for a lot of other schools as well.

and the school isnt for superheros specifically its for kids with superpowers and super parents every kid is allowed to go there so that they can learn to use their powers in a good way

I love love LOVE Sky High. Honestly, it still holds up. Fun, creative and with very solid CGI even by today's standards. I always watched it when it came on. I'm also in awe of how accurate was the decision for Royal Pain's sidekick/dad's voice actor in my country (Guilherme Briggs). He sounds EXACTLY the same :0

The actor playing Warren Peace did a cover of the song 'One Thing Leads to Another' for the film's soundtrack. It's pretty good. His name is Steven Strait. Also, not gonna lie. I'd tune into a channel of the ladies reacting to stuff. They're pretty entertaining.

I always loved this movie. Not just because of its use of superheroes to highlight the horrors of high school, but because of the great cast and tongue-in-cheek humor. Kurt Russell is always great at comedy, but Dave Foley and Kevin McDonald ("remember when we used to use real citizens?"), Bruce Campbell, Jim Rash, Cloris Leachman. . . ? It's a murderer's row of comedy! RIP, Kelly Preston.

In my humble opinion this is the best superhero movie ever made. The humor is genuinely funny, they highlight the superpowers in fun, unique ways, everybody has a character arc, even people who aren't the main characters. It may be very silly but it is well thought out and just a fun time all around.

This has been a great 3 years. I’ve been here since the beginning and now it feels like it has come full circle. At first I was sad about it but I understand and I’m glad for the moments of happiness and entertainment you gave us. Layla would be a terrifying villain. Her powers are tied to her emotions, which is why someone so sweet can't make something as sour as lemons. When she gets stood up, she causes the flowers to wilt. If she were to turn evil, she could kill all vegetation on the planet.

Let me just say that Robert Townsend did this first in his Disney movie Up Up and Away which was about a family of superheroes and the middle son lied about having powers. The movie came out five years before Sky High.

I just noticed a mistake: If he flies out of the building while the school is falling to the ground, the school would have to fall further and he would get further and further away from the school floor because the school is still subject to gravity and he is not . I hope it's clear what I mean, English is not my native language.

The fact that Layla (Danielle Panabaker) who had Nature Powers ended playing another character with Ice powers (hint hint nudge nudge wont say who incase they havent seen the series) is really cool. i knew Danielle had multiple roles before that but when i saw her i was like yep shes Layla from Sky High lol, Also Thank you White Noise for doing these reactions they have been funny and great. i love rewatching these movies and getting a different take yall will be missed.

this entire movie was like Disney's version of "My Hero Academia" but the school is in the sky due to a hover converter and the Heroe's kids are put into 2 different classes based on their powers (not Quirks) such as Hero or Sidkick (or in their case, Hero Support)

What legends man, such a great reaction channel not just this one but James's solo one too. Glad I got to witness the growth of the channel from Nine tail brush and James to then recruiting Stella and Haley (hope I spelt it right if not I'll edit) which just created this cool, chill vibe group which made it so fun and welcoming to watch.
