Method cleaning products have been discontinued in Australia because they ARE toxic and they were falsely claiming not to be. It's a shame as I used their products all the time but can't buy them here any more. Can't wait to see the new house.
It's funny how when you said it was the last video in this house it made me instantly sad. I have no idea why because I'm super excited for your next chapter. I LOVE doing the empty house clean, but it is so exhausting. I'd love to see how you set up each room and all the new things you add. I'm not sure if Mrs. Meyers cleaners are natural or not, but I do love some of the scents. I love that it makes my house smell like a flower garden. Some scents aren't great, but for the most part I love them. I also love the JAWS cleaners. Their window cleaner is my favorite. I think it does better than the Sprayway. I've never tried Blue Land cleaners. I also love some of the Method products as well. I hope the rest of your move goes smoothly!

Hey Friend, Happy Friday. I enjoyed watching you tackle things around your house. 😊🥰 awww the move is not always easy especially for kids. I moved three times when I was a kid and it was always hard on me. 😢
I think something we all have to remember (myself especially) is that we are the author of our own book. You cannot wait for someone else to make us feel loved, happy, motivated, inspired, grateful, etc. If we want to feel loved, we have to give love. If you want to be happy you have to find ways to bring that feeling into your life. We just have to be on the look out for the silver lining amidst all of the clouds. Sure, life is far from perfect, but there is always something to be grateful for. We just have to take a step back, take a moment to mindfully breathe, and find the amazing things that life has to offer. And remember to even be grateful for the lows because they truly make you appreciate the great things in life even more.
I know I'm late to the "raising a teenager" discussion, but I wanted to chime in. I have 4 children, ages 18, 14, 6, and 2. The absolute best piece of advice that I can give is simple, raising teenagers starts when they are young. I have never had any "major" problems with my teens. They are respectful, do well in school, play sports, have friends, etc... (my oldest just graduated high school last week). The people that your children will become begins when they are very young and will transition into their teenage years. We don't scream at our kids, we don't use physical punishments, however, we expect respect. Actions have consequences (time out, losing privileges, etc..) and these are things that you start when they are toddlers. I'm also a big believer in "pick your battles"; we don't fuss over the little things. If you are consistent in following your morals and values and your children have a clear vision of behaviors and consequences ("if I do A then B will happen"), the teenage years won't be much different except they are bigger and want to be around you less, lol. You tend to hear a lot of horror stories about the teen era, but to be honest, I find it easy and refreshing. By the way, I have experience with both boys and girls, I have 2 of each. My older 2 (girl, boy) then my younger 2 (boy, girl).

I have no motivation today. I went to the doctor yesterday and was diagnosed with the flu. I don’t realize you could get the flu in the summer, in Georgia. I’m hoping to be over it soon. I did do some laundry today. But that’s it. I bought myself a bread maker for my birthday. I did the first step to cleaning it. I also bought a new vacuum. One with a cord that the battery won’t die on. It’s still in the box. I’m not in the mood to mess with anything right now. I try to use plant based cleaners. The only thing I use that’s not great is Clorox cleaner on my white sink when it won’t come clean. I use something called ECOS. I buy it from Amazon, and it smells citrusy. Then I buy a different ECOS to clean the bathroom. And I use a steam mop on the floor. I’m not sure it gets the floor clean. But I don’t use chemicals if I don’t have to. And I’m really sensitive to smells. Don’t go with mini blinds. Our house came with them and I don’t like them. I have three small dogs and my house is so dusty. The blinds are always gross. Mainly in my living room and our bedroom. Where the dogs are the most. I have curtains at my kitchen window. Because I have plants in the sill and can’t close the blinds. We live in the country and if the kitchen was in the back of the house I wouldn’t care. But it’s in the front. A person would have to eight foot tall to look in there. But you never know what could happen. So I got a tension rod and put cafe curtains on the window. I can imagine your exhaustion. I’m tired just watching you on this video.
Empty House Tour will be great. I'm looking forward to organizing with you when you move to your new home. Take your time. I'll be here when you're ready. May the Lord bless you and your family on the new chapter of your lives. Also, the best cleaner is 1 part cleaning vinegar, 1 part water and blue dawn dishwashing liquid. Shake well, spray on tiles, tub, sink, glass shower doors and especially chrome fixtures to get rid of water and calcium buildup. Let sit for 5 or 10 minutes before wiping and its like a miracle has happened. The vinegar can be loud but the smell doesn't last long.
We put flooring in 10 rooms of our house last year( including the bathrooms) professionally laid.. I have Berber carpet in my living room and HATE IT! I just vacuumed it twice today. I get it professionally cleaned right before Christmas every year. This winter, the carpet is going BYE, BYE. That will be the last room. That will be the best Christmas present I've ever had when it's gone😂 18:55
I think watching this made me feel 2 different ways…excited for your new place but sad because of all you have done with the house…from the massive declutterring, room makeovers, yard makeover…it just seems like all that work and now you aren’t going to enjoy the fruits of your labor in that home anymore. I know, I’m probably being weird 😂
I’m excited for you guys. New homes are fantastic but if I had the opportunity to do it again I’d go with roller blinds. They are just so much easier to keep clean.
It is exhausting after the house is empty just that fact that you end up cleaning the whole house all over again, yes, I feel your pain! I only had that afternoonn and had to be out by midnight and left at 11:50pm. As furniture was moved out of a room I got to work with the sweaper and cleaning baseboards where the furniture was against and I could not move. Checking the walls for marks with my Mr Clean sponges. Bathrooms all 3 of them giving a once over, kitchen took the longest I ran a deodorizing cycle for the dish washer and washer and dryer. And of course did a once around the property and checked the garage plus scrubbed the floor since we had all the boxes in there. I feel like I did after that day watching you Michelle! LOL! You are so right! Once you can move in it will be will worth the hard work!
I was going to ask you why you didn’t hire professional cleaning services. Bless your heart! Moving is hard work in itself. Congratulations! We’ve built 3 times and bought a home like you were describing earlier. The frame was up when we bought it. We are getting too old to do it again. Maybe 1 more time. Idk lol.
Just curious. Do the new buyers know you are removing the light fixtures? I thought you sold the house as is. Removing all of your belongings of course, but light fixtures? What if the new buyers loved the fixtures?
I can’t imagine how totally exhausted you were Michelle. I know it was with mixed emotions when you packing and moving out of this home but you are taking those memories with you as you go to your new home. Try to get some rest! 😊❤😊
We love our Plantation Shutters. We got the wider ones so they would be easier to clean. We chose white and they are easy to clean. Enjoy your new home. 🏡
I’m so sad, I love this house, but I’m looking forward to sharing your new home and the adventures of decorating. I hope you have a wonderful vacation. We just hit 25 years in our home and a paid off mortgage, we are gonna hang out for a little bit more, I think. Good luck 😊
I will recommend plantetion shutters I have them they are awesome and very easy to clean !!!! They are timeless little pricy but is worth it ❤, beside everything you put will get dust !
Suggestion here lol try only blinds first and let window treatments be the last on the list...I have taken every curtain in my house down and love it!!
I would love to see however much you care to share Michelle. These are my favorite kind of video's . Seeing how someone goes throu the moving process. Each individual is different in how they go about it and I would love to see how you and your family "move" through the process including the unboxing.
