I got the Xbox series x 20th anniversary controller, and according to Google, some batches had the spring for the d-pad make an annoying slight sound like a guitar string. Personally I really don't want to take my controller apart because it's a collector's item, so what do you think the noise is and what do you suggest?
I have the same problem, the dpad on the sides and the one on the top are pressed well but they don't work, and the one on the bottom doesn't hear the "click" but it's the only one that works, does anyone know what it could be?
Thanks, worked like a charm. The hardest part was taking off the side panels. Was afraid of breaking them since it's my Cyberpunk 2077 controller. But now its all good. Decided to use a q-tip and some rubbing alcohol to also clean out any dirt/dead skin that built up in the controller while I had it open. Working perfectly fine now.
Mine is still working all the way around but the left direction is not clicking. I'll give this a whirl. It's a brand new controller (a replacement for a one with a bad "Y" button) so it shouldn't be dirty. I'm defintely going to watch your full breakdown video too. Thanks for this. 😎👍
my dpads button are all fine whenever i took the faceplate off, but when i put it back on the down button becomes all mushy again.. i have no idea how to fix this?
my left dpad registers a long press even tho it clicks. In other words, it feels great but will fly across the screen if I push it . I cleaned it, etc. Can I use electrical spray?
This is the best video on this subject I’ve come across, but does this work with a Xbox elite series 1 My down on the dpad won’t work sometimes. Can I reference this guide or is there a better one for said controller
To think I was about to buy a new controller when fixing mine was so easy. I had to bend the spring a good bit for it to work again, but it did! Thank you so much for this.
After taking the controller apart and trying the bending of the metal suggested in the video. Problem was right d-pad wouldn't click. Still won't click after trying this video method
Thanks for the video luckily my d-pad wasnt broke i just cleaned it really well and bent the springs back and it works like a charm i liked and subscribed keep up the amazing work
