I did this fan set when I was 3-9 months pregnant with my youngest son at 37yrs old. I didn’t learn it with music. It would’ve helped me remember the set...thank goodness for this video!!! I have been wanting to practice this beautiful Tai Chi weapon’s set:the fan.
9 years...no comments, hardly any views and no mention of archons anywhere...but this comes up because they just deleted tons of stuff and screwed up their algorithms so no one can find anything anymore.

I don't know the name of the music. It accompanies, with different tunes and words, different forms of Tai Chi. I always thought the words announced the next moves. Th music comes from a little red box. Look on Amazon
I did this at a multi-culture english course in Durham last summer! One of the teachers was from China, and she taught us the first part of this... It was really fun! :D
I can't be sure from the grainy video, but the girl in the foreground looks to be one of the late-Madame Wang Jurong's daughter. Mdme Wang was a very respected and master of kung fu and taught from her school in Houston, Tx. which her daughters have continued to run in honor and memory of their mother.
No, the hand fans were an ubiquitous items during pre-modern times in Asia where everyone owned and used. In some places it is still used today instead of air condition. Because it is considered an innocuous item unlike a knife or a sword, self-defense techniques involving its used came into being. Men and women practice the use of it in martial art, although women seem to have a natural knack for it.
