My former roommate and I were at this event. I even got a ticket because the parking meter would only take enough change for two hours and the movie is 2 1/2 hours long. You can imagine how this became a problem when they showed the Russian version of *War and Peace!*
I saw it in theater when it came out. I didn’t see it as campy,(except for the scene when she had Christina on the ground 😅) I enjoyed the sets and clothes . My problem was Faye looked nothing like Joan and her makeup was atrocious and clownish, that was the camp!
That was wonderful! I was fortunate to meet Ann Blyth through her daughter Eileen. She was just a lovely as here in this video. I complimented her on one of my favorite films that she stars in, THE STUDENT PRINCE.
