Where my dream next Godzilla film after Godzilla Minus One " I would like if they kept Godzilla look in Minus One but will take place in modern day. In Sapporo , Strange UFO sightings are seen. Meanwhile, Godzilla washes up on the shores of Nagoya, dying of some strange fungus or starfish. Out of no where a new monster named Bagan starts to show up on earth. A girl " Ayane Takahashi " will be the new Miki Saegusa. Mutant Starfish, Bride of Godzilla winch is just Ayane Takahashi as a android robot, Liopleurodon , Mogu , Ghost Godzilla since Godzilla dies in the film with Godzilla Junior also showing up.
just wanted to follow up and say I’ve watched the first few episodes and I was hooked ever since the first. Knowing that this has over 100 episodes and only gets better has me so excited, I really think this can become my new favorite.
Kamoebas is pretty badass. Would have been cool to see him do more. I made a prop of him for an art contest at G-Fest and won first place in the 3d art categorux
Love yoshio aramaki. Made the novel series big wars and deep blue fleet. Both have ovas. His sci fi ideas are always wild. Deep blue fleet is an alternate history world war WWII with experimental and modern weapons, so if you wanna see attack helicopters and modern missiles and gigantic science fiction submarines. It’s for you big wars is about a godlike alien race starting a war on mars with land battleships. Pretty awesome
Thanks for mentioning Ikeno’s modernist score. Of the many Japanese composers I listen to, his music is the most influenced by Bartok and other mid 20th century euro composers. Only Takemitsu might be more daring and innovative in my opinion. Ikeno’s concert works also show a penchant for low brass writing as is on display in Spook warfare. I love this movie too. It’s such an unusual genre mashup and in some ways foreshadows The Exorcist.
This movie is nowhere near the worst, quite the contrary. It's a true work of genuine art, and if someone is willing to disregard it all simply because "mUh ReAl cOrPsEs!1!!!1!!", than this person is a pathetic, simple minded, idiot.
G Gundam isn’t just my favorite Anime, but my favorite show in general. My brother and I grew up on it, Gundam Wing and a bunch of other Anime shows on Toonami.
For an introduction to mazinger z, I had the best experience reading the manga. The Toei anime can be fun sometimes for a monster of the week show from 1972, but it is quite a slog to get through to progress the story, even if you use a skip-list. The 2009 anime can be quite dialogue heavy and for some reason the action didn’t quite hit for the episodes that I watched, but I may still revisit it for another try.
7:12 Checked my 5th grade math book, which I never returned to school at the end of the 1974 year. Turns out $5.5M-$6.2M is still less than $10M. So no foul here.
See my larger comment for specifics, but I think this stream panel was in bad faith even if I ultimately would put the film at around a 4 or 5 out of 10 and say it's the worst Monsterverse film as well. There are so many substantive criticisms one could make of the script that trump "they clearly didn't try and I will give no source for that, even when one exists or would eventually exist depending on when the stream was"
About the GvK stuff in the 15 and 16 minute marks, GvK has issues, but I don't understand the argument "I stopped paying attention so the movie is bad". You're kind of just proving that you're a bad audience member. More importantly, people weren't claiming it saved movie theaters as an emotional goalpost shift. You can actually check and see that investor confidence and investments in theaters went up after GvK. It did save movie theaters in a measurable way, and I think it's disingenuous to argue otherwise simply because you don't like the film 21:56 that is a big accusation to make that they did not care. You need to prove that, and if you cared to do research you could with GxK specifically since the audio commentary admits that the crew stopped caring to answer and account for the plot. Please do a little better to honestly represent the film, because I want to hear out your points without caveat. Around the 27 minute mark, you reference the previous draft for GvK, and I don't think it's entirely accurate. The differences were Lind mourning his girlfriend rather than brother (and most of his scenes are actually in the movie as is), and I dont really recall greater emphasis on broken people repairing themselves. The main other difference is Ren Serizawa using Hayworth to kill Walter and take over until Bernie can kill Hayworth to save the kids, and Ren would have survived. Where in there is broken people repaieing thenselves to a greater extent than exists in the final film? Bernie and Lind remain the same, and maybe Madison would have had PTSD but I think it's in bad faith to assume her arc would be that much better in the original draft than here 43:18 again I have no issue with that. Just based on what I've noticed, I don't see "honest" criticism on these films (I don't mean to imply dishonesty, just that it seems you're speaking more to vindicate your feelings than reflect the actual facts when you reference any part of the situation outside the films themselves), which is a shame because when you guys hit, you hit hard on good criticism 45:49 if you are criticizing a film, talking about what it feels like is less significant than what it actually does. Skipping over the effective characterization for Kong in the cold open with the parrot frog (and a teleporting Wartdog corpse) straight into the opening credits, Godzilla was fast in KOTM (the issue here is the flexibility in leaping onto Scylla since Godzilla's Evolved form exists to be more agile, it is strange to show him off as being more agile already in base form). That is how I would phrase that argument, and it's not reliant on "this is how I feel, but I guess it's also an argument since I'm not indicating I'll accept your feelings if they are different" You raise an interesting point about the licensed music clashing with the sound effects. I'll have to check for myself next time I watch these. I agree about poor editing, but the Godzilla vs Scylla scene is the opening credits, so I'm not sure how you forgot that. The greater poor editing is the movement between the subterranean realm and Malenka the Iwi village in the last third of the film, where the ugly ape One Eye can make it back to Skar King from there in the time it takes Trapper to walk down a hill and look at Kong's arm, but Skar King's army takes like half of the third act to get back there (in the meantime Trapper runs to the HEAV, flies to Outpost One, hooks up the Glove to the MULE plane, flies that back to Kong, evacuates the Iwi, takes the MULE back to the HEAV and flies around to bring the Vertacines back to Malenka Your point about the dialogue is imprecise. Trimming down Bernie's dialogue from rambling into efficient exposition would be out of character and like an actually bad retcon that destroys the character. With some exceptions, the exposition in this film actually makes sense because it would be far stranger for the characters, as they've been established to remain silent, especially the people following Godzilla or Trapper and Bernie who don't understand sign language or Iwi script 1:03:24 why does everybody say this? Skar King's kingdom not being new and not being an empire should disqualify it from consideration. Think about the tripartite pact between Godzilla, king of the monsters, Mothra God queen of the Iwi and Kong eventual king of the apes in Egypt, and tell me that isn't a more likely fit for the title before you jump back to Skar King again. So yeah Mothra retcons KOTM here in a few ways (in Kong Skull Island, an Iwi had Mothra's marking on their makeup, but we can agree this is a step too far). When we last saw Mothra, she had dematerialized into energy, and here, she rematerializes from energy. Outside of the Chens being gone, I don't see a large issue in retconning the KOTM end credits which really unfairly limited storytelling potential going forward and also are such a minor part of the movie And I don't recall a time frame for the prophecy, just the Iwi from Skull Island specification. In fact, the film implies that they thought the prophecy was coming to pass in the 70s and 2019, hence the energy signal being sent out The found family part of this film is expressed better in the Kong and Suko plotline, which is again why I consider them the leads. This is like judging the use of the motif of self unaliving in Minus One by every character except Shikishima (let's not get it confused. Minus One is a much much better film, but you are looking at GxK unfairly in a way I doubt you'd accept for Minus One). I don't like you calling this not a movie. That just seems like it would come with a burden of proof you're not meeting. 1:39:49 this confuses me. Are you still talking about KOTM, because uses his arms to help him run in Egypt in GxK. I think the eyebrow thing is a nitpick (especially because the people who missed that and the squinting at Mothra right after complain that this movie didn't show off Godzilla's connection to humanity or Mothra), but we agree about the run Stop with the subjective soundtrack memorability points here. In GvK, I like Kong's suite as well as the Throne Room and Mega, and in GxK, I really like Skar King's theme that appears during the scene of the ape kingdom and the Egypt and anti gravity tracks 1:51:10 they specifically drill into it and analyze it's energy signature in GvK. What more would you have them do? 1:51:45. They mention in this film that the HEAVs have heat shields for that. But the MULE vehicle and Glove were already in Hollow Earth. You can see the yellow vehicle there in the background when they go to Outpost One So how exactly do you justify complaining about the exposition but wanting more of it for Godzilla liking the coliseum? My whole thing here has been if dialogue is in character it is good. The people who witnessed Godzilla's home in KOTM aren't here, so it would have been bad writing to include that exposition. The people that were saying the cgi would be finished when the movie came out are still in the right, because it is in very bad faith to assume stuff will be bad before the movie comes out. It wasn't just cope; it was actually good faith media criticism. But yes you are right that it is just as unfinished in the film as it was then (but certain dialogue takes and even whole lines in the trailer didn't make it in the same so don't pretend it was a done deal from the trailer alone) GvK and GxK were Kong focused. You should assume that Godzilla would be like Kong there. That's what Wingard is implying. Again pkease stop taking the worst faith interpretation here where Wingard didn't care without evidence, as you also did that again
There's is a reddit post that disect the movie perfectly, but i just can't find it no more. What i like the most is his interpretation of zoffy characters.
Jiro accepting he has evil inside him is truly human. He now has a stained soul, showing it is real and hes sad he did what he did. Jiro is now fully a real boy in his own way.
Yes, it is true that power rangers is adapted from super sentai. But super sentai is not the first power rangers. Spiderman is the first power ranger. Because super sentai is adapted from Supaidaman, which was a Japanese tv serial. And Supaidaman is adapted from Spiderman of marvel comics.
