I've said this before, but I like to think Seven using the Ultra Eye to transform probably was good for at least one kid with glasses' self-esteem back in the day. Suddenly something you feel self-conscious about helps a TV superhero fight aliens and monsters.

You forgot one homage to Seven, at least I think. In Dragon ball, Chi-chi wears some armor as a kid and even has a helmet with an eye slugger. In her first appearence, she even uses the eye slugger to cut a dino to pieces and fires a beam in the same manner as seven.

when I was a kid, my Aunt gave me an original VHS of Ultraseven fight compilation from Japan. It fucking blew my mind even if I cant understand the narrator. Such badassery.

To make an Ultraman ever greater, dial it up to SEVEN! This was my first Ultra series. I watched it on TNT every weekday morning before school.

Dinosaur tank is peak goofiness but my true favorite is Eleking. Favorite episode was actually Nightmare of Planet No.4. Also, I have met Dan Moroboshi in his cafe and had a signed autograph like 5 years ago.

Ultraman may have built the creative foundation of the Ultra Series, but Seven, built the entire house. Also, this video makes me seriously love Daniel Van Thomas.

Ultraseven is brutal my favorite episode is the one mentioned in this video of that bat like creature who's world was destroyed by Earth's weapons test ..Ultraseven ripped off the monster's wing &threw it back at it then kicked it's ass some more then finished him off by cutting his throat the eye slugger with yellow blood gushing everywhere I love this show...& King Joe really kicked sevens ass😆

The original Ultraman and Return of Ultraman are some of the best tokusatsu of all time, but Ultraseven.... it is something else. Absolutely. As time went by i lost my childhood taste for tokusatsu, making many shows hard to watch, but Ultraseven lights that flame bright like a star.

I love Ultraseven! His design, his attacks, his theme song, everything! I just love him! And I love how his design had influenced the designs of several other Ultra Heroes! Taro, Scott, Max, and of course, one of my personal favorites, Ultraseven 21, and of course, his son, Ultraman Zero! Btw, if you haven't seen the Heisei Era Ultraseven sequel series, I recommend it! I've only seen a handful of episodes, but they were pretty solid. They even use the same theme song and opening sequence! Anyway, great review as always, Titan! It was great hearing from Daniel Van Thomas and his thoughts on his Space Dad! Happy 55th Anniversary, Ultraseven!

Regarding Ultra Seven's music. Director Hajime Tsuburaya commissioned the composer Fuyuki. Create something that kids can listen to and understand how music works. Also, since it's after 2001: A Space Odyssey, they By using classical music, they were proud that their work was as good as 2001: A Space Odyssey. When you listen to Seven's songs as an adult, you learn how the chords develop and how the bridge between songs becomes a minor chord. The rhythm tempo also changes, and when you realize this, you can clearly see how sincerely the adults were treating us children. I was lucky to come across this work.

Can't wait to get this. Just ordered Ultra Q and Ultraman the other day.

When the giant, behemoth, enormous talent, superstar Ted Turner began airing this show on TNT. I re-became the biggest Ultraman fan in the multiverse.This show is my favorite show and better than Rock and roll. Not only the easiest best Ultraman show, one of the best TV shows of all time 😛

the king joe episode i believe was more in depth than simple perserverence, just like zetton, ultraman is unable to defeat him however just when it seems all hope is lost the humans find of way to kill him, and this premise is the same with seven requiring his human team to fire an ammo designed to pierce joe's armor, I believe it goes back to the original director's premise of humans coming together and overcoming insurmountable odds even when it seems hopeless.

Great review. Love Ultraseven, and Heisei Ultraseven is a masterpiece to me. For my favorite Kaiju in the series though, yeah it has to be Alien Metron, the fight like u said it so iconic, and the alien demeanor is just so memorable. Still, Alien Pegasus come close just because I watched Geed before Seven and it surprise me how difference the Alien has become 😆 Speaking of Shin Universe though, the way Shin Ultraman have to replace Kaminaga Shinji and learn how humanity work feel more like an adaptation of Ultraman more than Ultraseven huh? And of course, was so cool to see Daniel Van Thomas in your video, love the passion he has for the franchise 😁

Having grown up in the era of the first three Ultraman series (First, Seven, and Jack), I've always been particularly impressed by the stylishness of the Ultraseven series' costume, kaiju, and set designs, which have stood the test of time exceedingly well.

Ultraman was considered second season of Ultra Q hence the appearance of a color version of the Ultra Q logo before the Ultraman logo. Scientist in Ultra Q supposed to have idea to form a task force to deal with monsters and aliens which happens in Ultraman. Yes Ultra Seven originally meant to be in own universe. Return of Ultraman changed that in fact changed its own premise that Ultraman had returned by Having Ultraman who was not the series Ultraman and Ultraseven appear together.

So glad I stumbled over this post on youtube. Reasons abound. I´ve been Ultraseven´s harcore fan for almost " since I was born thing". I actually became myself a street performer and of course UltraSeven was my pick . Became myself kind popular in my country and because of that I was able to take UltraSeven´s passion to others,mostly kids from a new generation of tokusatsu Lovers. UltraSeven for me as like a Rite of Passage. Early I lost my father and for some reason UltraSeven became the father I never had . All episodes are some form of art. Score, practical effects, cast, plots, kaijus, UltraSeven´s design, the drama, the concepts of sacrifice and honor, persevearance, love ( dan and Anne ) and stories which better helped understand Japan´s way of life back in mid 60´s. The topics on Climate Change, Space Race, Nanotechnology, espionage, the fears of Artificial Intelligence, political and social manipulation, cloning, mental control were some kind of game changer for me. However, the most remarkable episodes for me are related to EMotional feelings such as Love, Sacrifice,compassion and honor. I am listing my top 10 favorite ones 1 - Episode 5 ~- Vanished time ( Lessons about Trust and Belief ) 2 - Episode 8 - The Market Town ( Pure Freudian Psychology ) 3 - Episode 13 - the man who came from V3 - ( beautiful lesson on Friendship and honor ) 4 - Episode 14/15 - Ultra Guard Goes WEST - ( Well...This post explained exactly what I feel for it ) 5 - Episode 25 - Showdown at 140 Degrees - ( NO hero is invencible - Amazing episode .Also TEAMORK and determination 6 - Episode 26 - Super Weapon R1 - ( Best score for a tv show after the one seen in the last episode of U7 ) 7 _ Episode 31 - The flower where the Devil Dwells ( what a beautiful love story ) 8 - Episode 37 - The Stolen Ultra Eye - ( What a beautiful LOVE STORY and Sacrifice ) 9 - Episode 39/40 - Seven Assassination plan ( Left a mark on me when I was young .Fear Of losing the one we love ) 10 - Episode - Episode 48/49 - The biggest invasion in History ( The most XPETACULAR TV SHOW ENDING ever made in Tokusatsu history ) The Last two episodes have something iin it that I will never forget . Its MONUMENTAL ENDING! A masterpiece episode. a work of art. a work of a visualist ! An Ode to Perfection !! Tsuburaya outdid himself this time. the perfect sync between Piano Concerto in A Minor, 1st Movement: Allegro Affettuoso (Robert Schumann) and the battle between U7 and Pandon cant be recreated not even by Hollywood. What a masterpiece . I remember watching this episode almost 30 years ago and made me cry in a way i had never cried before. not because it is sad but because it is emotionally beautiful. You can feel it ! You can almost feel like you are part of the experience. The pain..the sacrifice..the struggle.....the idea that nomatter what you got to go till the end to save those you love....this is an universal theme. In Rolling Stones maganize I think from 1978m Steven Spielberg once said he was shocked after having watched some episodes of UltraSeven ..this one to be more specific. he also said that one of U7 episodes served him as an inspiration to visually create one of the scenes found in Close encouters of third kind. The scene where the boy opens de door and all that sparkling rainbow of colors shows up was taken from Perolinga episode. Thank you so much Tsuburaya for giving us this masterpiece !! Ultraseven the sequel that inspired evangelion and pokemon to exist

I personally like to think of Ultra Seven as a loose sequel to Ultraman rather than as a straight up standalone series. The Ultra Garrison is a natural progression from the SSSP, the alien invasion/space monster emphasis neatly follows in the wake of Zetton (the only space kaiju from Ultraman that was a pawn in an invasion attempt), and there's nothing in the original series that directly contradicts the idea of Seven being in the same continuity as Ultraman. Plus why do they explicitly mention that Seven is from M78 and not have it be in any way connected to Ultraman?

Honestly I never understood how they intended for Seven to be in a different universe when he is explicitly stated to be from the SAME PLANET AS ULTRAMAN. (Plus I always thought that the Ultra Guard was named in honor of Ultraman)

Do any other Ultras have kids, or is Seven the only one? Yes, I’m aware of Belial, but he’s not an Ultra anymore.

How is that Zeros voice actor? He sounds nothing like it. No rudeness intended. But I’m not a fan of people falsely claiming to be something they are not. In this case, it would be considered something similar to ‘stollen valor.’

Ultraseven sucks in my opinion, the episodes are cheap, weird and boring, there is barely any monsters, i wanna see monsters! Not ultraseven chasing stupid ufos! The og ultraman is way better. And instead of monsters, its all aliens, so bland
