I remember attempting a run of Chrono Trigger a long time ago where I was only fighting boss battles (made it all the way to Lavos, but couldn't figure out a way to configure my party and equipment to survive his opening attack). And on that run, I remember reaching Spekkio, and being like, "What the hell is that?" when I saw his frog form.
Wait a sec... only boss battles? Sounds like a cool challenge, but you cannot skip all fights right? Which version of Lavos did you reach and what level were you then?
I replayed Chrono Trigger last year and I completely forgot how great charm was, thanks for reminding me. I guess I get to beat it again now. Right after FF6 and 7.
I am doing a low level run of ff6, and a lot comes out of the game from trying it. I follow no specifc guide on who gets what experience (some put it all on gau to make him powered and breeze through.) Finishing floating continent now with every character is in the single digits, and not resetting 256 times to get the perfect minimum mag roader exp or anything like that. It is very doable and shows another side of the game I highly recommend. I will have a second save file in WoR for maxing out Celes, Edgar, and Seltzer speed stat and finishing with those 3 for that ending.
You have to go into the Omen first in 1000 AD and beat Queen Zeal. Then the Omen disappears only in that and future timelines (2300 AD), but its still there in earlier timelines (600 AD and 12000 BC). If you go into the Omen in 12000 BC first however, it disappears in all future timelines immediately and you cannot go in again... But like I said, when you enter the Omen a second and third time in earlier time periods, not all enemies (like the panels) and bosses are there again. But you can always fight Queen Zeal at the end (some crazy stuff about time convergence or whatever).
I had a small part in the initial script about twin charm and also the Alluring Top for Ayla that increases her success rate, but I removed that part because I never felt the necessity to use either of those. Maybe I should have included it for completeness...
Haha yeah I forgot to mention that the pants go on the head, confuse the wearer and drain hitpoints :D So whats the most ridiculous outfit that you can wear in Chrono Trigger? Ozzie Pants, Charm Top and the Mop?
@@TobiContinued93 this was clever, I’ve been playing CT a long time and didn’t realize some of these charms. I like your style of editing and you voiceover work feels authentic! Keep up the good work!
i dont really bother because, to even survive, you have to be overleveled (thus breaking the difficulty curve), you cant use the sword for long for storyline reasons, and its not that great anyway.
The 18 year old me spend hours and hours to finally get to lvl 99 and the game glitched. These days it is much easier to play this when you can save the game anytime and any where and restore it.
The game glitched on level 99? Man that sucks, sure it wasnt just the graphic glitch on the NTSC version? Well, you can only save it when you emulate the game. :)
I remembered fighting the red dragon and beating him. Took a few tries. Didn't do that potion, 1 attack hack. Yeah there is this other boss fight that I found. Those were the days back in the 90s that since you don't have so many games and options that you can spend much more time on the few games that you have :). And also that time no job and a family to support.
I remembered playing this game back in the 90s after finishing my night shifts. I could not go back to sleep and kept playing until I needed to go back to work again. This was an amazing game. Lufia 1 is also great. Never had a chance to play the other Lufia games.
Hey, thanks for the nice comment. That is Phantasy Star 4, a JRPG released on the genesis/mega drive. Its awesome, I made a video showing some tips for beginners, so if you want to get into it..... :)
Happy to hear. :) Its sad that I cant put more time into it right now, I am limited to like one video per month. Need to find a way to speed up the process...
7:44 I would love to see more content on Chrono Trigger. I am sure that you have other ideas in mind, maybe you should start a poll! Nice video btw! Gruße.
So far I am planning for a guide through all character side quests, a "secret compilation" and how to aquire all triple techs. Maybe I can weave in some lore into them. Thanks for the hint!
Nice video - have some fond memories of Lufia back in the day. I often stuck with ‘Foomy’ as I called it (the white blob), but the healer could be useful in the ancient cave, if you got the right materials to upgrade.
Thanks for the comment. Foomy is really good if you develop him early, but i preferred the fire or dark monster because they looked "cool" :D Yeah the healer can be useful in the early parts of the ancient cave, but later I would always switch to darbi because of his strong abilities. I discussed this in my Video on how to beat the ancient cave btw. :)
I managed to kill him with a full party at LVL 22 . Made a challenge out of it xD. By the way it is verry helpful to get some statues from the gambling machines. It heals every party member 200 hp
Hey, thanks for the comment. Gaining levels of course helps to survive the tricky first two rounds when Gades can potentially one-shot your Supports. Farming the core enemies always feels so disheartening when 90% of them flee. But man, the level ups you get when you manage to kill three or more in one fight though... :)
