never found a more accurate video on yt than this. If you are beginner trust me this the most detailed video breakdown that even 5 year old kid can understand. Recommend this video to anyone who is just starting to learn swimming.
Gotta give some credit to Ben proud - not a comeback story but he went 21.2 in April making him faster than Andrew and Bukhov I’ve loved this video series btw - you’ve created real excitement for these games
I heard a head coach recently flat out tell his 10-14 yr old agegroup swimmers that swimming is Not a democracy, but is like communism... it's why swimmers are so fast! (Paraphrased). Hello ?? I immediately felt sick to my stomach, but held back any verbal challenge to the coach. What's your personal view as to where along the ideological pendulum successful swimmers can be developed as a sport - not part of a type of cult or dictatorship act ?
I guess we would define success differently than a lot of coaches. We've had children who enjoyed swimming better because they were having fun with us as opposed to coaches who were making them cry every day. Not surprisingly they swam faster and have lasted longer swimming than their peers. You can have fast swimmers either way but only fullfiled swimmers one way.
I’m not really a swimmer but more a runner. Just hopefully people don’t fully commit to the hold back until the end gig, otherwise swimming is gonna start to need pacers like running 😂😂
My approach to swimming as a coach is very similar to yours I give the summers some autonomy as to what they like to do on a certain day and sometimes these are only 3K and one day and much longer but by switching it up, I’ve been able to produce numerous state records in the US. And USVI. I would love to learn more about your swim clinics and camps as I often encounter the same thing when I do clinics. Swim. The swimmers get all these different technical adjustments and drills that make them faster and then the coaches won’t let them implement them in their workouts. so I end up working with them privately on many occasions and the personal best times speak for themselves and when their coaches asked the swimmers to demonstrate proper technique after big time drops, I know we’re doing the right thing😊
That is where u need to watch what he is doing in different videos. Calisthenics, different strength workouts and land training. The Professor Cam McAvoy Rocks ❤
Really high intensity swimming with long periods of rest. I remember looking at one of his sets and it was like resistance 4x25s 4 strokes max with 5 minutes rest after each 25 and 30 minutes rest after the 4x25s. I'm very surprised it works so well for him
I did a swim clinic with Aaron Peirsol a few years back, and I remember him talking about this story. The reason the decision got overturned is actually because the official that disqualified him didn’t fill out the disqualification form in the correct language.
VERY USEFULL informations thanks A lot! , not just tips but also making the breakpoints manageable for everyone else. everyone have had that "i cant do that" moments. and in that feeling, knowing little knowledges and details keeps yourself in course.. you didnt miss anything there it really means a lot :)
First we had to deal with A-aron and now this funky name Di-nice? You have a strange sense of humor for a mexican guy. I find it very annoying on all your videos. Takes away from of your eloquent presentation. But I must admit you have good content. It's very helpful. Thank you.
I would love to see Boxall or similar world class coach coach a middle aged overweight and out of shape person with no swimming experience for 3 months and see how that person performs.
Today was day 1 of trying these. Choked on water quite a few times. But it’s still progress. I get really anxious under water. But I was able to take one quick breath successfully in my entire 45 min swim session. It ain’t much but it’s honest work.
