ASA, So who would be the divinely appointed guide for us today??? The hypothesis about succesors to the prophets seems to have fallen over itself, if this guide has been in occultation for over a thousand years? Sorry if my question seems rude. But there is clearly a gap to be explained???
It will be great if you can give us a list of names of successors, say between prophets Jesus and muhammad (saw) after st peters. If your argument holds true, then st peters would have named his successor, then that one will appoint someone, and there will be a documented chain of successors. It's also obvious that even with the appointment of successors, the people have consistently corrupted the message of God anyway. Are you saying God was wasting His time all the while doing the same thing over and over even if the outcome is predictable?.
Allah and his Prophet PBUH didn't know that there would be a divide in Ummah on the successor of the Prophet PBUH still they didn't choose a successor .....n still Allah said in Quran that he has completed this religion what kind of completion is this that the Ummah divided on a very next day 😂😂

Brother you have a point ,it's possible that Ali bin Talib..peace be on him was in the running to succeed The prophet Muhammed...But as you make out..Samiri is mentioned in the Quran and Peter on the Bible...But Ali peace be on him is not mentioned in the Quran...So you cannot say that he is appointed by God....We need proof..

I think if us Shias portrayed ourselves a bit better we wouldn't be so obscure. Latm and tatbir is not a practice of the Imams (as), neither is calling upon other than Allah i.e Istigatha. I swear if we abandon some of these innovative practices many people would be saved from Sunni Islam
We are far too short-sighted to be able to make such claims. We may think we know better, but remove any of these threads and the voice of the Shia would not even exist.

Ali r.a. became the leader, so what is the problem? It may have happened later than you would have liked, but it did happen. Aron or Peter did not become the leader of the believers, as you mentioned. So, it is not the same. Poor video.
They all remained as the leaders, regardless of how many followed them. The representative of God doesn’t change if mankind follow someone else. All that happens is mankind falls into misguidance and corruption.
Your answer makes your entire logic false. If we follow your example of Peter in comparison to Ali r.a, it is as if Peter followed Paul after the death of Jesus and did not revolt. That was not the case. However, with Ali r.a, he accepted Abu Bakr r.a. and later Omar r.a. as leaders. Peter did not accept Paul as an authority and leader. This can mean two things: Either Ali r.a. was at peace with Abu Bakr r.a. and Omar r.a. being the leaders, or Ali r.a pretended to accept this. If that was the case, then you have a much bigger problem to explain. Because he did not revolt during the rule of Abu Bakr r.a and Omar r.a, while you have called their rule tyrannical. Please explain this.

@@kwurup Well when I actually read your argument I saw (a.s.) after Abu Bakr and Umar’s names. This is extreme and not acceptable at all, especially when you are talking to Rafida who believe these two oppressed the Ahlul Bayt and make a clear stance against them. And the answer was made clear years ago, Imam Ali (peace be upon him) did not revolt because he did not have an army of loyal, brave men, just like the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله) did not revolt in Mecca. Perhaps you should spend more time learning about the beliefs of the people you are talking to before making any arguments.

i appreciate that this is an islamic shia youtube channel and that you are drawing a comparison between moses and muhammad however can you not also see how an athiest (in particular someone who was raised muslim but has become athiest) could see that the appointment of ali is a just a copy paste of past biblical events? most of the quran draws a lot of details and comparisons with the bible so who is to say that the quran is not a legitimate book? i think drawing these types of comparisons shows the flaws in this narration in an ironic way and just looks like as if during the islamic era that stories were taken from other faiths and rehashed and rewritten to benefit the movement?
Islam does not claim to be separate entity from the religion of the previous Prophet’s. The fact it claims to be a continuation means there must be massive overlap by necessity.
your argument makes no sense, because when Hazrat Ali became the caliph, and Hazrat Ali being just; upright and truly one of of the greatest human beings, he didnt underdo any potential corruption by the previous caliphs. Wouldnt it have been the first thing he would have done, because protecting the integrity of the religion would have been more important there anything else. Furthermore, the quran and the life of the prophet is guide, and true guidance comes from only Allah swt. Also why would Hazrat Ali allow his daughter to marry hazrat Umar, if he was corrupt, why would hazrat Ali send his own sons to protect hazrat Uthman during his reign as caliph. You talk about corruption, but dont state what that corruption is.

As a muslim our true guidance will be the life of the prophet and the word of Allah ( the quran). The shia/sunni divide is polital not religious. Allah saw, says in the quran - this day i have completed your religion, so islam was complete. We as muslims are supposed to see beyond the political divide ands recognize that we have more in common than differences. A couple of points for further analysis why didnt the sunnis and shias merge when hazrat Ali became the caliph, also why would hazrat Ali allow one hie daughter to marry hazrat Umar? We shouldnt refrain from criticizing the companion's of the prophet, they were part of the prophets circle because they were meant to be there, if one of them was a traitor or power hungry individual, dont you think that the prophet would have known. Finally, the prophet left no successor because it was test of those left behind to choose unity rather than divide, they failed at that task. On a side note, regarding the paper and pen incident, theres no telling what prophet wanted written down, you cant make assumptions that it was the name of a successor

Are you seriously unaware of the event of Ghadir Khumm? Maybe research the tafsir of Quran 26:214. The Hadith of the warning. Rasulullah pbuh&hf blatantly named his successor on multiple occasions.
