Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from Salih ibn al-Sindi from Ja‘far ibn Bashir and Muhammad ibn Yahya from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from ibn al-Faddal all from abu Jamila from Khalid ibn ‘Ammar from Sadir who has said the following. “I heard abu Ja‘far (a.s.) when he was coming in and I was going out and he held my hand and then said, “Turn to the al-Bayt (house). O Sadir, what people are, in fact, commanded to do is to come to these stones, perform Tawaf around them (walk seven times around) then come to us declare their support to us. That is what Allah has said, “. .I am All-forgiving to the righteously striving believers who repent and follow the right guidance.” (20:82) Then he pointed his hand to his chest -to our Leadership with Divine Authority. Then he said, “O Sadi, would you like me to show you who create obstacles on the way of Allah.” Then he looked at abu Hanifa and Sufyan al-Thuri of that time. They a circle of people around them. He then said, “These are the ones who create obstacles on the way of Allah without guidance from Allah and a clear book. Would that these malignant ones sit in their homes. When people search around and would not find anyone to inform them of the guidance of Allah, the Most Holy, the Most High, and His messenger they would come to us and we would inform them of the guidance of Allah, the Most Holy, the Most High, and His Messenger.” Al-Kāfi - Volume 1, People’s obligation after Hajj to Meet the Imam, Ask them Religious Instructions, Declare and Pledge to them Allegiance and Express their Love, Hadith #3

quran introduces itslef in surah baqara "Indeed this book is a guide for muttaqeen" it means not for those who astray. so to seek guidance from quran we must be muttaqee and to become muttaqee we have to follow imamul muttaqeen. And imamul muttaqeen is the siraat-e-mustaqeem. Mola Ali is the siraat-e-mustaqeem. He is our best guide who will lead us to Hauz-e-Kausar.

Great lecture brother with a good story feel to it. The reason why I did not embrace shiism when I left sunnism was because I felt the shiites had sunnified the shiite doctrine. To me they were like twins from two eggs. When I studied Tafsir al-Mizan by Tabatabai i realised that the Imams interpreted the Quran using the Quran and not outside sources. I wanted to take their methodology to its natural conclusion so I chose Quranism with all its imperfections.

I'm not particularly Sunni or Shia, but your Shia sources say that allegedly Imam Sadiq said that Harun died before Musa and that Yusha bin Nun was the successor. Whilst you use the hadith 'Aren't you oh Ali content that you are to me like Harun was to Musa?' and the Qur'an clearly implies that Harun succeeded Musa, and that Yusha was the one who accompanied him on the journey to Majma'u-l-Bahrain. In the Bible Yusha behaves like Abu Bakr. He conqueres Canaan by war. So either Yusha was the appointed governor of dunya matters, and so was Abu Bakr, while Ali was the appointed imam of spiritual matters, and so was Harun; or the whole story doesn't make sense from either side.

If we were supposed to derive religion from traditions and hadiths, why do we have the holy book? Fortunately, today with the spread of Islam and its globalization, its followers are no longer just Arabs from the Middle East for whom religion is a historical tradition. Instead, its audience is people raised with reason and deduction, and never in history has there been such an opportunity to explore the truth. Religion does not come from the stories of a handful of people from the depths of history! The internal proof is reason, and the external proof is the prophets and the holy book! Referring to historical narratives and traditions is a source of misunderstanding and deviation.

It will be great if you can give us a list of names of successors, say between prophets Jesus and muhammad (saw) after st peters. If your argument holds true, then st peters would have named his successor, then that one will appoint someone, and there will be a documented chain of successors. It's also obvious that even with the appointment of successors, the people have consistently corrupted the message of God anyway. your argument makes no sense, because when Hazrat Ali became the caliph, and Hazrat Ali being just; upright and truly one of of the greatest human beings, he didnt underdo any potential corruption by the previous caliphs. Wouldnt it have been the first thing he would have done, because protecting the integrity of the religion would have been more important there anything else. People unfortunately do not understand the tafseer of the verse which says to do not divide into sects so they say incorrect things such as "no sunni, just be muslim". Allaah warns us not to split into sects meaning Allaah said to follow the Quraan and the Sunnah without rejecting any part. This is how you'll see how many sects came to be, by rejecting the Quraan and Sunnah. Qadariyyah rejected Qadr, Jabriyyah rejected free will, Jahmiyyah rejected the names and attributes of Allaah, Murji'a rejected Eeman (faith) increasing, decreasing and consisting of saying, intention and actions, Shias rejected the beliefs of the Quraan and Sunnah by putting their imams besides Allaah, exaggerating praise of Ali ibn Abi Talib and cursing all other companions except a very few amount, we seek refuge in Allaah from these claims, may Allaah be utmostly pleased with them all. So what is the true Quraan and Sunnah? What must I follow that I do not go to Hell? It is clear that there will be sects as seen from the hadeeth of the Prophet, peace and blessings upon him, "The Jews were split up into seventy-one sects and the Christians were split up into seventy-two sects; and my ummah will be split up into seventy-three sects." So the fact that sects will come was undeniable, but how do we know what to follow and who to follow? This is where the other ahadeeth of the Prophet, peace and blessings upon him, help us understand that they are those who follow the way of the Prophet, peace and blessings upon him, and his companions (Tirmidhi 2641) and the main body of the Muslims (Ibn Majah 3992). So we know who is saved from the fire but who exactly are they? How did they differentiate themselves from groups such as Shias, Jahmiyyah, Qadariyyah, Khawaarij, Mutazilah, Jabriyyah and so on? Because all these sects also claimed to be Muslims so who's the saved group? That is why the name Ahlus Sunnah wal Jama'ah (People of the Sunnah and the community) or Sunni was used to describe those who were upon the way of the Quraan and of the Prophet, peace and blessings upon him. This name wasn't concocted by us in this century or centuries after the Prophet, peace and blessings upon him, this is what the companions, their students and their students referred to themselves as so that they may be differentiated from the innovators such as the ones I mentioned above. It is from this context that in the verse about dividing into sects, we understand what it truly meant. Imam Ibn Katheer beautifully explains it: > فَأَهْلُ الْأَدْيَانِ قَبْلَنَا اخْتَلَفُوا فِيمَا بَيْنَهُمْ عَلَى آرَاءٍ وملَل بَاطِلَةٍ، وَكُلُّ فُرْقَةٍ مِنْهُمْ تَزْعُمُ أَنَّهُمْ عَلَى شيء، وَهَذِهِ الْأُمَّةُ أَيْضًا اخْتَلَفُوا فِيمَا بَيْنَهُمْ عَلَى نَحِلٍ كُلُّهَا ضَلَالَةٌ إِلَّا وَاحِدَةً، وَهُمْ أَهْلُ السُّنَّةِ وَالْجَمَاعَةِ، الْمُتَمَسِّكُونَ بِكِتَابِ اللَّهِ وَسُنَّةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ، وَبِمَا كَانَ عَلَيْهِ الصَّدْرُ الْأَوَّلُ مِنَ الصَّحَابَةِ وَالتَّابِعَيْنِ، وَأَئِمَّةُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فِي قَدِيمِ الدَّهْرِ وَحَدِيثِهِ > The followers of the religions before us had differences of opinions and split into false sects, each group claiming to be following the truth. This Ummah too has split into sects, all of which are misguided apart from one, which is Ahlus-Sunnah Wal-Jama'ah, those who adhere to the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allaah and what was followed by the first generations, the Companions, their followers, and the Imams of the Muslims of earlier and later times.
