I actually still have a Magegee I bought about four years ago, that I use as my emergency, emergency back up, lol. It's red backlit, but feels solid and has taken a pounding. It's definitely not as fancy as the one you have. Always love the videos, Sir!
I have a handful of MageGee boards in my collection now. They are def budget, that's for sure! lol! I am curious to try one of their higher end boards here soon, to see what they bring to the table. Always appreciate your views, my friend. Thank you!
When you really need a budget keyboard.....at least it sounds good and has all of the alphabet and punctuation, lol. That sure is a nice RGB, um, I mean backlit keyboard, ya got there. Still, for 16 bucks. Great video as always, my friend!
This was an interesting board for sure! You cannot beat the price. It misses on a lot of things that frustrate you, but then you have to remember the price tag! 😂
Yes, it is still working. I pulled it out of my closet this week to play around with it a little more and it is still holding up. Unfortunately I cannot speak for consistent use, as I am always switching boards for review purposes. Thanks for checking in!
I was on adderal from the age 18. I was embarrassed to be taking meds to at 19, since I was an adult i stopped taking the meds. I will say I am a pretty smart individual. Due to me stopping adderal i dropped out of high school, got my GED but that was sooo hard to achieve since I was untreated. I am now 39, and have lost out on so much in life due to remaining to be untreated by my own choice. I have 0 concentration, 0 focus, always extremely tired during the day, can’t remember sht and many many other ADHD symptoms. My sleep doctor is about to put me back on adderal due to hypersomnia and obviously it will treat my adhd at the same time. There is no telling how different my life would be had I didnt choose to be untreated.
At least you are getting the treatment that you need now. I am sorry you had to wait this long to realize you needed help with your ADHD, but better late than never. I'm wishing you the best on your new journey, and thank you for sharing your story. Best wishes to you.
Great video, as always, my Friend. It's a pretty cool keyboard, but you're right. 90 bucks is a bit of sticker shock. I thought you going to hit us with 75 or something. I do have to say, though, that I love the color accent keys, and it sounds great.
It shocks me at times how much some companies charge for their boards as apposed to others. I've been learning a lot! I hope you are safe and good after the storm, my friend.
@@PeaJayTheGr8 I'm indeed safe from the storm. I had a large oak tree that started to fall, but it was cut down a few weeks before all of this started.
Another great video, my friend. I think that might be my favorite keyboard so far. There is something about that one that I really like, and it sounded solid. I love the clips you always put at the end.
Thank you, my friend! I truly appreciate it! This turned into one of my favs as well. I didn't think it would, but it grew on me fast. The typing on this board is amazing!
Congrats on your purchase! I need to pull this keyboard out again and work on that. I think you need to get QMK working to make the knob work for volume. I'll try it out here soon and will get back to you. Thanks for watching!
That's probably the most interesting keyboard you have reviewed so far. I would be curious to know down the line how you liked the key cap swap and if it made the RGB less intrusive.
I have this keyboard and its amazing, feels great, sounds great, the best keyboard size, and the volume nob is soooo useful.THE best budget keyboard, Im surprised its not $100+
It has a very solid sound for being such a lightweight keyboard. The design reminds me of something like a Commodore 64 or something from back in the day, obviously without RGB. Great video as always, my friend.
Great comparison! I had a Commodore VIC20 back in the day, and this keyboard does remind me a lot of that! Thanks as always for being here, buddy. Much appreciated!
I'm typing this comment on the exact same keyboard :) While your review is spot on in many ways, it is a bit sore. It is not a perfect keyboard, of course, but it is not as bad either. I bought it mainly becasue I needed something light and small to fit in my handbag, while being light and quiet so that I can use it at work, and it serves well both ways. Also, I needed a small keyboard that does not sacrifice the arrows, home, pageup ... etc. dedicated buttons like in those 60 keyboards, and it has all the keys I need, in a light small pack. I got the brown switches and they are very quiet, the typing clicks are smooth and the sound is muffed enough. It is plasticky but it is not something that would hinder my typing. Also, it is hollow, but I can't find that has much effect on the sound, I mean it is quiet enough not to care really. After all, it is a cheap keyboard that I can take anywhere, and if it gets lost, it is not much to lose. This is my second keyboard, and more are coming on the way :))) but my first keyboard was very clicky with blue switches which was great for a first keyboard and is still great for gaming, but for long typing sessions, I ended up with headaches, that I took it apart and added a layer of light foam inside but that was not enough, it is still clicky as hell with sharp piercing clicks, but for gaming the tactile feel is great. In comparison to my first one (a no big name Motospeed C-674, I believe the whole brand went down), this Machenike is a dream. I baught my motospeed a few years ago, and I had no clue, it was the first time I have ever heard of mechanical keyboards, and I wanted something mechanical and clicky, but it turned out not to be over-clicky :), although it has beautiful RGB and lasted that far without issues, hardly missing a beat that I will still keep it as my gaming keyboard. My only take against the Machenike K500A for this price is the lighting which is a bit dim, and the color shoice is horrible; I do not need it to be full GRB but I just hate the separate color for each line, particulalry with such horrible choice of colors, has it been one color say red or white I would have been very happy. Besides that, the keys feel a bit crammed and smaller than standard that I occasionally mistyupe, but that's probably to keep it as small as possible and maybe I'll get used to it. The left side on my keyboard has a sharp edge so the finish quality is not premium, and capslock light is on the side too so there is no way to see it unless I twist my body to look at the side of the keyboard which is the least brilliant idea ever. Anyways for a travel keyboard, this is great, but for extended use there are many better options of course. Like you, I am not impressed with the keyboard, but I didn't expect to be, but for the overall experince of typing and size factor, it is a very legitimate keyboard that serves certain needs.
Thanks for leaving your feedback on this keyboard. It is great to hear other sides to the story and that someone enjoys it for what it is. I was on the fence in keeping it and doing some modding to it, but I ended up returning it for a refund. But, I am glad you left your side to the story. It's great to have multiple opinions before making a purchase. Nice having you here!
This looks like this keyboard was pretty well thought out, but it does look a lot better with the new keycaps. Always good to see your videos, my friend.
It's been a while since I've used a trackball, but I remember playing games like Unreal Tournament and after a bit of a learning curve, it worked well. I'm using a vertical mouse for work now, but I have to wonder if it's time to pick back up a trackball mouse. Great video as always, my Friend, it's great to have you back!
I always see these challenges pop up with people saying they used a trackball for a week and didn't like it and I laugh. I've been using them so long I hate using regular mice now! lol! Also, having a lot of fun creating content again. It's been great so far!
Man, it really is good to see your smiling face back making videos. For twenty bucks that thing looks like a smoking deal. You almost have me convinced to buy a 65% keyboard to take with me on the road. I love having my number pad, but twenty bucks is a solid deal.
Thank you, my friend! When I saw this deal I thought it was too good to be true! And it would make a great travel keyboard as well. You cannot beat the price!
Interesting that they chose to use the rotary knob as the lighting control instead of volume control by default, especially if the software is hard to install. I love the idea of the mini view screen. Thats a cool idea. Awesome video as always. Its good to see you back in full swing!
Yeah, one would think volume would be the first thing to work out of the box. But I could have overlooked something as well. lol! It's great to be in the swing of things. Having a blast creating content again! 😀
Thanks for the review! I wondered why it has only "10" (which is Chinese RoHS) and still available on international market, but from your video it seems like it also has FC and CE certifications that are on the box (on my box, that sticker is absent). Also, that keyboard is very similar to the Redragon K629 Phantom. the only difference is that K629 has full RGB and different keycap, USB cord colors
Thanks for watching! I looked up that Redragon board and it is similar. I've noticed that MageGee seems to have a similar one as well. I think this one may have to go back to Amazon for me because it's pretty lackluster for the price.
Great video, as always, my friend. You almost have to wonder if they copied the design and thought they would sell it for whatever they could before they had to stop selling them.
That's what I am thinking. This keyboard is a cash grab for the design only because as of its use, it is a pretty bad typing experience. I'm surprised I rated it as high as I did! lol!
Good to see you posting again, man! I ran into a similar naming deal with a mic I picked up at a yard sale. I picked up a BM-800 with a brand name 'Floureon' on it, but when I went to try to find YT videos on it, there are half a dozen names for the same model number and they all seem to be the same mic. (I'll post the video soon on my alternate YT channel because stuff about steaming and gaming does horribly on my main channel. ) BTW- love the dance party at the end of the video, lol.
Thanks, my friend! I'll have to subscribe to your other channel. I learned that my ADHD and gaming videos were destroying this channel so I had to create two new ones! I've heard of Floureon. They also make security cameras and sometimes fall under the name Sricam. It's weird how these companies have all of these aliases!
Not too shabby mate! One of the mods I do plan on trying out is the penny mod. Supposedly it's suppose to not only make the keyboard feel heavier (I like the heavy feel of keyboards) but also dampen some of the noise to give it more of a THONK feel. That, and o-rings and lubing all the switches and stabelizers. Please pray for me, as this will be my first time I attempt to lube LUL
I used electrical tape. And I think I will be using painters tape moving forward. I had seen some people use electrical tape and wanted to give it a shot. Thanks for the tip and watching!
Hey buddy! It's great to be back! Yes, it is a lot heavier than it was before and I am very happy with the outcome! I'll be doing weekly videos again. And I'll be dropping by your channel again soon. Thanks for your support and friendship! 👊
I’m so thankful for this video. Today is Day 1 on Vyvanse from years of being on and off of adderall. I would get on because i needed the focus and get off it because of the “dump” that i was noticing in the evening. When the meds wore off i would get really depressed/angry.
I've never heard of any claims like that before. It didn't affect mine at all but I guess everyone responds differently. I wish your son the best and hope it works out for him.
But what do I do though? Because I'm not trying to use it as a crutch but it is a legit reason as to why I'm failing and coming up short on so many things. I forgot my so's birthday by a few hours instead of 12:00 a.m. I wished him happy birthday at 11:00 and then he flew off the handle at me. But I legit woke up and wasn't available mentally to like realize that I was late. So I'm always looked at as the messed up person because of it but it's like a legit reason. So like what do I actually do even though I set alarms and everything?. Then on top of that it's like how do I not use it as a crutch when it is a legit reason as to why I'm distracted. Why I'm late why I'm constantly forgetting and for losing time and not being able to focus and remember like what do you do then in that regard?
A lot of my friends think I have the best memory because I remember not only their birthdays but their family members birthdays. I don't. I save them all on my phone to remind me a few days before those events happen. 🤪 And you and I both know our ADHD is the cause of things you've mentioned, we just have to find ways to help us out of those habits. We won't succeed all of the time, but most of the time we should. It's all about recognizing our short comings and finding ways around them that works for our brains, all while not using it as a crutch. 😉
I don't like Vyvanse and Strattera was a extremely bad experience , Vyvanse makes my ribs hurt bad just sitting down , they say its the same as adderal but its not its missing like 3 of the main parts of adderal and is way way different, Vyvanse dont really help with any focus for me either , I get the hyper side effects of adderal but after a week or 2 its like normal
Bro! I literally was from straight ABUSING ADDIES for a while (at a huge video editing job) to make deadlines and get promoted. I loved it, but too much and made the switch to Vyvanse 40mg. I am not high anymore or anxious and surprisingly loving it! Game changing medication (especially name brand) . Great insight on ADHD being the underlying cause of depression, I can relate, -Cheers from Orange County
3:00 actually the "Shift" key should be in place of the "Ctrl" key and the "Ctrl" key should be in place of the Alt key. And the Alt key should be where the "Shift" key is on the keyboard! ;}
Cleanings the fins on radiators is always a pain. My sister gave me a cleaning clean, I think for photographers, that has swabs with cone shaped ends and also some small soft bristle brushed that make it much easier. Great to see you posting again!
Ik this is old but brooo when u got to the Norton part and it would let u close it I pulled up my task and closed Norton and it instantly worked thanks bro !!!
