Breaking Bad definitely took a lot of lessons from The Sopranos. Besides the obvious parallels between Tony and Walter White being murderous anti heroes and the drug addled sidekicks (Chrissy and Jesse), Breaking Bad's Juan Bolsa is a direct Spanish translation of Johnny Sack.

Juan is Johnny in Spanish and Bolsa is Sack in Spanish.

Loved Spike's synopsis of the episode, as always. Funny when he says Sil tells Tony about discontent in the crew. Reminded me of The Weight when Chris says "create a little dyssentary among the ranks" when he meant to say dissention among the ranks, lol. The malapropisms in this show are hilarious. Here's a video with a collection of them: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gsqf6IY-3oo.htmlsi=YFtR-YX7DRBAs3w_

You guys read my comment two weeks in a row. (I was usersomething something until I changed my screen name). Anyway, you guys have been a daily listen for me since I discovered you a few weeks back. Can't thank you enough for the fly, black perspective on my favorite TV show. Also, I'm 54, so thats why I remember seeing Angie Dickinson in that shower scene in Dressed To Kill and why I've seen the Godfather 27 times. You guys are my favorite Sopranos podcast -- I like your show more than even Talking Sopranos.

I lost it during the beginning of this episode! Your podcast is the best recap and perspective on my favorite show, I’m on my fifth rewatch and your commentary has made it the best rewatch by far. Can’t wait to hear your take on Test Dream, that episode is nuts! By the way, I think Ro is the better friend to Carm, she is the only person Carm can be open and vulnerable with. You know that Gab is going straight back to Sil with everything Carm says lol. Love your show! Excited you will be there for my sixth rewatch ❤

Not only is this podcast from a black perspective but in this episode mo reaches down into the deepest darkest depths of his soul to show us what it is like to be truly insane. I believe by recreating christopher getting clowned on for 35 minutes by his best friends this was a meta commentary on the episode but frankly im depressed and ashamed to say i love u mo!

This is off topic, but I was just watching the godfather for the 27th time and I noticed that Calo repeats everything Fabrizzio says when Michael is talking to Apolonia's father in Sicily, just like Ally Boy Barese repeats everything other people say in the Sopranos. Another cool Gofather homage.

Just found your podcast a week or so ago and Ive listened through season 3 episode 3, and I'm loving every minute. You guys really seem to get the show and it's fascinating to hear your perspectives on what I consider the finest piece of art (not just television) ever made. I've never seen anything more complex, deep, or rhought provoking about every aspect of life than The Sopranos. And every re-watch teaches me more about life, death, relationships, human nature, and myself. And as I get older and more experienced and life has happened to me more, the show just hits harder and harder. Keep up the great work!

Cool show. Short enough, comment? lol. Love your show, the longer the better. People who work work to or sleep to podcasts really like the long running times. You thinking of doing The Wire or something else when Sopranos is over?

When this podcast ends, it’s gonna hit different. What are you gonna do .. I use to listen to Talking Sopranos., but to hear y’all describe it from a black perspective. I can relate, it’s entertaining. The way y’all collaborated the intro makes me super dramatic throwing the kitchen sponge and all lol 😁 “your suppose to be earners, that’s why you got the top tier position!” Salute gentleman! Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in…

@@ShotCallaT My feelings aren't hurt. Just speaking facts dude. Doing that only really just adds a divisive tone to whatever you're saying, if you ask me. You don't see Asians, Hispanics, Italians, Native Americans constantly making everything about race and injecting it into the facet of everything they say... We're all Americans at the end of the day
@ShotCallaT

@@yofasassburgers5 this is a podcast though.. i don’t see anything wrong or causing division by presenting a sopranos podcast as that. Add to the fact this show is constantly making jokes about black people, and it’s hard to find any black people talk about the show, I think it’s interesting to have three black men discuss it.

I always took the comment about the gun as he smuggled it into the country. Tony has the Italian mafia connection. I don’t think a mafia boss is giving bootleg gifts.

My broken balls award goes to the Asian people as a whole. Kim was played by Henry Yuk, who is Chinese American and born in Brooklyn. I felt he was doing the Asian version of minstrelsy with that accent. I bet he’s a nice guy and a great actor, but dude sounded like Elmer Fudd more than a Korean immigrant. The most Korean thing about this character was his Cobra hat in the scene where he got his ass beat (Spike might know this bc it’s a golf brand lol). But Paulie’s line of “Remember Pearl Harbor” always has me dying bc of how over-the-top racist it was. Prob my favorite line of the season 😂 Fun fact: Liza Lapira, who played Kim’s daughter, is Filipina American and just got a Disney check for being in Inside Out 2, which dropped this year.

Hey Fellas How all y’all doing?Good Episode Review and Input/insight Commentary… To me majority of this episode was (Just a Envelope ✉️) rating.. Mainly due to AJ’s Idiotcy in this episode… But the interesting part of this episode to me was the Feech Parts… Despite Feech being a Bag Chaser Tbh…probably one of the best…Compared to Richie who was fighting for every nickel and dime especially with beanies 🧑‍🦽.. Feech had a “Ralphie” type hustle despite being one of the oldest members.. (looking at paulie 😒) Tony definitely did the right move sending Feech back… Dude had the poster face of “Hating “ especially during the card game lol 🍞🧈🔪 Another interesting part that i noticed during “ The Shut the 🤬 up” Bada Ping Scene is in the beginning “ Notice when Feech walks in that Box 📦 if you pay attention he says “expiration date 2007” which could be a foreshadowing of the ending of the sopranos considering that 6B takes place in 2007.. Thank you guys for your hard work and shout outs and looking forward to next episode..

Hey Fellas sorry for being MIA RU-vid notifications will leave folks in the dark about uploads… Great review and interesting insight on this episode…. I rank this episode as a “Made” episode mostly due to how it set up a trail of disasters ready to be knock down like dominoes… regarding to the New York power vacuum… Tony may have not noticed but considering how intelligent Tony is maybe he knew… but Tony bringing up The Trio power sharing instead of one mob boss practically put targets on the back of Carmine jr, Angelo, and Loraine…I know Tony was tryna look out for Johnny but he should of known better and stay completely neutral and away from the power vacuum considering how he almost lost his life in his rise in becoming boss… The Paulie/Feech part had me rolling especially the tree cutting part…. Fun Fact there’s actually a deleted scene of this episode that can be found on RU-vid where paulie call Tony About feech and demands for a sitdown you guys should look it up… And without a doubt Junior loves Tony it’s just complicated between Bobby does admit this to Tony in season 3 Pine Barren But Thank you guys for the shoutouts and keep up the hard work and looking forward to next episode… btw which team you guys rooting for in the NBA playoff?

Hey Fellas Excellent review and Great Discussion of one of the best episodes of the sopranos “White Cap” cant believe we’re already at season 5… But on the topic of “whitecap” the whole irena phone call situation was 1000% Tony’s fault ain’t no way in hell your side chick should even KNOW your family home number in the 1st place give irena your trap number hell give her the number to the bada bing smh…. Between the fingernail, the money in the bird feeder Tony was moving sloppy this season… But in hindsight maybe the irena phone call situation worked out in Tony’s favor because had Carmela never received the call, Tony goes thur with “the carmine hit” and we could be looking at a earlier version of “blue comet” But great review appreciate the shout out and congrats on completing season 4 Salute 🍷🫡

Good episode (Made) and a goodbye to one of the best stand up guys in Sopranos universe Furio… The man showed great restraint and thought with the head between the shoulders in regards to the carmela situation lord knows what Tony would’ve done had he been in furio’s position And the thing that impressed me with Furio is he had enough wisdom and self awareness to know that had he stayed New Jersey it would of been too much complications between Carmela and Tony and would most certainly ended badly for him so he left a toxic environment and went back to Naples where he was happy To me Furio was the only member in the soprano crime family that got a Win in terms of being happy and was closer to Gary Cooper than Tony Soprano Great Review and commentary Fellas Greatly looking forward (understatement)to the whitecaps episode and one of Tony’s Greatest Fumbles in the series 🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️

Hey Fellas Good Review Didn’t Care Much for This Episode (just an envelope for me) But the best/interesting part of this episode was the table discussion of Ralphie’s disappearance and pie-o-my’s death and how EVERYONE even Albert was able to figure out what happened to Ralph You guys slightly touched on the subject @50:55..Tony’s murder of Ralph Definitely affected the loyalty/morality of the Dimeo family and Patsy definitely is keeping note 📝 and adds weight to his involvement to “Cut to Black” Thanks for the shoutout and congrats to Spike’s newborn 👶 looking forward to the next episode

Great Review for One of the Best episodes of the series…and a good farewell to ralphie one of the best characters of the series… and yes he was involved with that fire the writing was on the wall since the last episode and it was a retaliation for “Vet Bill” “Valentina“+ “The Tracey Situation”+ “promotion for captain “ Ralph’s death will have lingering consequences for Tony in the future ESPECIALLY in that “Aprile” crew Appreciate the podcast looking forward for next episode
