Wow first i just wanna say great production value on the video. But... I disagree with just about everything you critiqued in terms of gameplay loop. I played through the entirety of the story and going through the rda outposts without the use of any cooking or hunting and I was always over leveled. If you spent any reasonable amount of time exploring and finding Tarsyu Saplings and bellsprigs you wouldve been easily overleveled. You also get new, more powerful weapons at the end of every outpost, so I don't even know why you bothered with so much hunting and crafting if you didn't enjoy it. And the new weapons and armor would in turn increase your level without any hunting. You can also buy weapons through the clan favor currency by doing side missions and just buy weapons and gear directly from clan homes bypassing hunting, crafting, and crafting. Also, I spammed the use of special ammo, but at the end of every outpost and facility there are a TON of spare parts. I always came out the outposts with 10 more spare parts than I came in with. The reason you were probably using so much ammo was because you self admitted you were underleveled for the missions and outposts you did do. You also need to be smart ammo conservation and when and where to use your ammo. Also I found it really odd your one positive in the first section is that the combat is fun. That is the one place the game was sorely lacking. Barely any enemy variety, weapon variety, special ammo variety, and level design variety. "Who wants to explore for 2 hours after an outpost?" Dude this is the critique that made least sense. You're in a beautiful pandora who wouldn't want to just be in the world and explore. Especially when the combat is so dry and could have so many improvements. Also if anything, there are way too many damn RDA outposts and stations. I just got the platinum and it was exhausting getting through all of them. Idk why you think there arent enough combat opportunities. Again, good production and I will definitely check for more of your videos. But I just felt like you wanted to rush through this game if you were constantly underleveled, running through spare parts, and constantly cooking to get through the game. I was literally solely underleveled for laser ore processor all without hunting, crafting, and cooking.
the sever lack of player agency in this game and oversaturation of essential flags made it unplayable to me, to a point where this video feels like youre talking about a different game
You know, i like the "Ubisoft formula" type of games. But their games are so boring in writing and downright embaressing in animation (witch they used to be one of the best at in the insdustry for fuck sake) that they bore me to no end.
There are some good story beats to the game, and a few points where I felt legitimately invested in what was happening. Some of the puzzles were fun, but overall the game was a little too much on rails. One thing that’s fun and actually pretty challenging: being at the highest wanted level. I felt like the Empire really wanted me dead.
Trying to watch a Star Wars outlaws review and suddenly I’m watching some mecha robot anime thing, not complaining, seems cool, might need to check out the other reviews for the lore Would be nice if there was a playlist with the videos containing story (unless all of them do) or maybe just a storyline video itself?
I honestly actually like Far Cry 6. I don't care how other people see how bad it is, I enjoy it thoroughly. I really love experimenting with different builds and doing all the bonus stuff when taking outposts to get more resources. The game just generally rewards you for actually thinking and taking your time. Plus I just also like the crouch slide. It feels so nice to just slide down a huge hill. I could say more but I don't want to write an entire goddamn essay. This is just my opinion so no one has to agree with it.
I thought Far Cry 5 was pretty mid and I played a couple hundred hours of it anyway. The gunplay is good and I like hunting/fishing and whatnot... Lmao
For the far cry die hard fans, it's a miss. But strangely for me it's a hit. I found this game so addictive I play it a lot. I like to find the boxes and upgrade my weapons. I like stealth and enjoy the open world to explore. The mode for easy is really good if you want to take your time and just explore around the map. You can delete the save and start a fresh game. That's just me, could be because I am autistic. But I do wonder if we will ever see fat cry 7?
Far Cry has a really good formula/central game loop. The gunplay is good, the environments look great and the hunting/fishing is surprisingly addictive. The stories and characters are the biggest "hit or miss" variable IMO and I don't really care about all that in the first place.
I think the problem was that they had too many agendas for this character and tried to smush them all together along with the needs of the plot, and so came up with a mess of a character who makes no sense. As a general rule, they seemed to lose track of the fact that someone who has the capabilities people are hiring for these jobs wouldn't be that timid, though to be fair a degree of caution is always going to be needed when dealing with organized crime sorts who logically wouldn't be exactly kowtowing either... It's a difficult balance to write. There is a problem though when someone like Kay can of course pull of Ninja-like stealth, and then seamlessly move on to kill more people than an 80s "Macho America Body Builder Vs. The Dim Witted Foreigners Who Can't Shoot Worth a Damn" movie (they made a lot of those) and then behave that timidly. Perhaps in a more progression based type of game they could ramp it up, but it's one of those situations where the story only occasionally matches the gameplay realities. They should have looked at say the writing from "Old Republic Online" and their smuggler storylines and such, for some tips on how to pull this kind of thing off given the hero's capabilities are consistently similar, even if it's a different type of game. SWTOR did a good job of making the smuggler, bounty hunter and agent gimmicky mere mortals, acting and being received as such, without losing track of the fact that they are mere mortals who are still apparently capable of engaging groups of well armed thugs, or even certain superhuman opponents, and willing pretty reliably. Sure, crime syndicates won't take too much shit, but they did the interplay well in most cases making it clear your playing a very dangerous individual, even when down on their luck, and part of the balance is both sides want something from each other. A more vulnerable character like Kay is a lot of the time could be workable... in a different type of game, with a different storyline. I mean if your going to single handedly invade a base and kill 150 guys, some cartel button man acting as a fixer probably should be acting different, as should Kay. Perhaps it is a minor thing given the gameplay realities, but in world, someone who can do that should be a pretty big deal.... sorry to break that news to Ubisoft. The fact that guys like Boba Fett or Cadd Bane could apparently get away with that sort of stuff and fight real badasses and win, made them a pretty big deal.
I still hate Square for shutting down the studio behind Secret of Evermore. It was a nice little game from a new studio. And Square closed them down after their first title already. And as far as I know, it was the first title Jeremy Soule worked on, well known for his work on the Skyrim OST.
As someone who played the 2009 avatar game on pc, I was pretty disappointed there wasn’t a 2 campaign option in this new game. In Avatar 2 they just briefly touch on the idea of humanity looking for a second home due to earth dying, although it was done poorly. Which is funny as that’s what I felt the first film should have done to make it more nuanced.
This game sucks for sure, but one thing I will always disagree with in these types of reviews is the revisiting of planets we know. I grew up with video games and books and comic books of the expanded universe. I don’t want to see Tatooine for the hundredth time. I don’t want to see Hoth again, or Naboo, or Yavin. The whole draw of Star Wars is how vast it is. If I see a game retread the same ground, I see the corporate meddling. We’re sick of the Skywalker line as much as were sick of the same eight planets. Stop saying how we aren’t in the planets of the movies is a letdown. I’ll take a lame planet made up for a game over another Most Eisley any day of the week.
Not only does this guy look like Sentinel Prime, but I NEED to see how this story got to where it is as this my first video from the guy and I’m HOOKED Oh, and also good review, disappointed to hear ND-5 isn’t an actual character until the climax, and those lines telling her to run, absolutely hard, was really hoping this would have been good as my previous Star Wars experiences were Jedi Fallen Order and Jedi Survivor

I stumbled into this game with Playstation Plus. Y'all, I enjoyed Everyone's Gone to the Rapture and Firewatch. This kinda feels like those but faster paced and with more interaction. Also a "rogue light" vibe. If you absolutely hate "walking sims" I understand. But give it a shot. Especially if you've got PS+. It's worth your time.

The dialogue and writing is absolute garbage. I'm shocked you got that much out of the opening. It was just bland CW level stuff. And that's the story at it's best. There was nothing redeemable about this game. Terrible and bland story, bland combat, horrid stealth, brain dead AI, meaningless choices, ubisoft open world, bugs galore, etc. This was a 3/10 at best. And that's simply because the graphics existed. So...it gets points for things having textures and meshes that did the job well enough for me to recognize this is a video game I can walk around in. Otherwise, this is nothing. We have better and can do better. Move along.
Never been a fan of ubisoft i liked FC3, Division 1, & watch dogs but open world games aren’t their thing I had a bad feeling about outlaws from the start
Keep you subscribed to ubisoft + until shadows comes out. RIP that plan 🤣 Never did see any value in ubisoft + even before I stopped buying or playing their games. AC Valhalla annoyed me with the XP booster, Division 2 left to die is what tore it for me.
It's fascinating that Ubisoft is responsible for at least PUBLISHING ghost recon and Division, but this is the level of tactical stealth we get in Star Wars.
I just finished road 96 and I haven’t had a game always be on my mind when I wasn’t playing it since Elden Ring. I love this game and it’s one of the best games I’ve played. And that “you play as Petria” and the whole thing is amazing. I loved this game from beginning to end and I will probably have many more playthroughs.

the bumbling idiot going through the mess they are in is pretty much a good way to tell about this character whole being it fucking bonkers. Plus the open world marker of gaming is just not fun anymore, so many quest just eat up your fucking time and there almost nothing to do but look at the pretty visuals in a broken half bake game, asking for the high 70$ to 60$ price tag. I am sorry but fucking ghost of tsushima had better exploration, and side quest that were fucking engaging and fun. An i spent days just exploring and doing quest missions, this is just a big, WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU UBISOFT!!!!? to add to this ever notes how most of ubisoft games take less then an hour to beat if you just did the story missions an nothing else, does not surprise me cause they are just patting out time.

I'm going to tell you exactly how this game became what it is. "Guys! Guys! We got the license to make a star wars game!!" "This is amazing! Wow! what can we make? let's do what we're best at, an open-world game!" "Yes! I am [Not a real person's name here] the lead on this project and we'll make a smuggler game, it's never been done before!" Game gets trashed twice about mid-way though development, re-do more and more systems, Stealth isn't rewarding so Not-real-person decides that more sections of it, will improve it. drop a dozen different storylines because now not-real-person wants to add space combat, lock the game on rails to develop seamless flight, fail that in time for release, back-up plan of masked loading scenes instead. City planet gets cut too late and now left with small empty planets, trash the bountry hunting system and fourth faction for the sake of 'remaining pure to smuggler' playstyle.. drop the cargo system, drop the item system, drop the social system. More than 300 people poured their love of star wars into this game, and all it takes is a couple guys in management to 'decide' for a new direction every 4 months to fuck it up.
