I was 14 when this video was made. I think of this as early rock and roll but as I listen to it now I wonder. It's pretty tame stuff, compared to what Chuck Berry and Little Richard were doing. My notion of rock and roll then and now are certainly different. I do enjoy listening and watching whatever it's called
That guy watching think he is actually a wonderer and with a date or wife. Next song clip he is gone, she is still at the table enjoying life, she wins!
Oh well, I'm the type of guy who will never settle down Where pretty girls are, well you know that I'm around I kiss 'em and I love 'em cause to me they're all the same I hug 'em and I squeeze 'em they don't even know my name They call me the wanderer Yeah, the wanderer I roam around, around, around Oh well, there's Flo on my left and then there's Mary on my right And Janie is the girl well that I'll be with tonight And when she asks me, which one I love the best? I tear open my shirt and I show "Rosie" on my chest Cause I'm the wanderer Yeah, the wanderer I roam around, around, around Oh well, I roam from town to town I go through life without a care And I'm as happy as a clown I with my two fists of iron but I'm going nowhere Oh yeah, I'm the type of guy that likes to roam around I'm never in one place, I roam from town to town And when I find myself a-fallin' for some girl Yeah, I hop right into that car of mine and drive around the world Yeah I'm the wanderer Yeah, the wanderer I roam around, around, around Oh yeah, I'm the type of guy that likes to roam around I'm never in one place, I roam from town to town And when I find myself a-fallin' for some girl I hop right into that car of mine and drive around the world Yeah, cause I'm a wanderer Yeah, a wanderer I roam around, around, around, around, around, around Cause I'm a wanderer Yeah, a wanderer I roam around, around, around, around, around, around, around Cause I'm a wanderer I'm, a wanderer I roam around, around, around, around
Gene Vincent, Joe Strummer, Dave Vanian, lux Interoir, Willy de Ville ou Brian Setzer. Eddie Cochran, Elvis Presley....Les plus grands de tous les temps, non ?
I agree there should be more music like this but the audience is lame AF. 🤣. When Elvis hits the stage it's panties flyin....poor Dion here gets a head nod and a foot shake lol.
It was frowned on to dance and stuff at certain events. Which sucks cause you can tell if they were allowed the audience would have jumped up right away
It's a shame she ran off and married Johnny Cash's manager after her and Ricky Nelson's parents put the kibosh on their relationship, as it destroyed any chance the duo had at stardom (and by some accounts, it was something Ricky never really got over).
Lesson to self- never, never, NEVER, film music silent then add sound in overdub. We all know white folks got no rhythm, but this clip makes it seem like an alien species has infected the whole audience. I mean, they've got the clap, but it isn't the good kind. However, that backup singer/dancer deftly removes the throw rug that James dances afoul of without either one skipping a beat. That's some quick thinking that saved the shot . . . so to speak.
"White folks don't have rhythm"? I mean racism aside that's patently false. What and African American music is tightly interwoven: R&B is based heavily on Jazz and blues both of which have heavily African influence but also white influence as well. You don't have to look hard to see the white influence seeing as instruments from the guitar to the saxophone are both instruments brought over from Europe, hence why French Paris and formerly French Louisiana both see a lot of the same instruments in their local music even though music through the centuries even though African American music like Jazz didn't become big in France until after the world wars.
