a fun bit anyfans who dont know. the Developers modled each game based on the personality of the horseman you play! War is young stubborn and needs to learn, so basic puzzles and upfront issues also.... a test. Darksiders 2 you play Death, and Death has many forms, lots more customizations you can play how you want, lots of versatility. Darksiders 3... its like bashing your head on wall and failing over and over again as is Furrry, once on the war path the only path is forward, but maybe not... that lesson is hard learned for Furry and so it is for the player.... how to do strife.. i honestly have no idea... but one i thing i do know.... no other game franchise is anywhere near this next level that has been presented by Darksiders! even though it is now a Cult Classic... the story Deservers an ending and not a half assed ending! a true ending!
this dudes.... its a game that is now 20 years old that was catered to the OoT crowd...... not some no puzzle, quick sliding, everything is rouge like type crowd
The sequels are about the same quality combat wise, just a bit different. Though from what I remember, the pacing is much better with less annoying puzzle segments. Especially in 3. There has been another teased that one will exist but nothing properly announced about it yet. I have always hoped for a co-op one that acts as a sequel to the first game where you can play as all 4 horsemen. As 2 and 3 take place before/alongside game 1.
Hand down one of my favorite JRPGs ever. It’s not perfect but man If they can continue with sequels and make improvements in key areas like fleshing out the main characters and more combat skills to especially flashy ones. It will be perfect.
Agreed. I wasn't expecting to love this game so much, it's definitely my own goty for last year ! I'm now patiently waiting for the Dlc set to release in spring next year, we just got the first trailer during last week's Nintendo indie world and it looks promising!
@@hourliche yes sir! I’ve been keeping track of this one patiently waiting for the DLC announcement. Thankfully it looks like it will even exceed my expectations.
People who don't like the Black Throne, I often find it's down to either a skill issue with fighting or a lack of intelligence when it comes to puzzles, either way please get good
I've been playing these games since the first one dropped. I feel the first three are very much products of their time. I think Darksiders 2 might be my personal favorite.
Its interesting that the levels you.like the least IS my favorite, i love the portal puzzles Of This game and even the extra stuff arround the Works you can find with the portal gun
Ah yes honestly portal stuff definitely wasn't my cup of tea, and you're the first one I see who says this ! What was your least favorite part of the game then ?
@ATigerShark this... so many times have I said this. If you are gonna invade be prepared to fight multiple people. If you want to fight one on one then go to the coliseum where is it supposed to be.
I suggest you to play all the games, but instead of following the release date I suggest you to play them in the order of the event. You played the first, so I suggest you DarkSiders Genesis (it's a prequel, not a spin -off. You need to play it for understanding many stuff) DarkSiders 3 DarkSiders 2
i dont think ive ever seen anyone wear the radahn helmet, and actually be a good player, not a single one xD im convinced that people who wear it are missing a few essential motor functions.
The Crossblades may not be great for damage, but people have found some fun ways to use them in combos. When the Crossblades keep spinning against an enemy they are essentially locked in position, taking small damage and unable to block, allowing you to keep hitting them. Thank you for the video and the effort to make it. I'm glad you had a fun experience, and wish you fun on the rest of the series as well.
Oh I see ! Interesting, I never thought about it like that, thanks for the tip :) Thank you for the kind comment too, I'm sure I'll enjoy the other games as well, I'm very excited to discover how the story unfolds !
@@hourliche You're welcome, and thank you for the reply! In hack-and-slash (or sometimes called character action. There's a lot of debate on the "correct" genre name) games, people who are strongly into it will often want to try to find ways to challenge themselves with all the moves on offer. Making combos, "styling" on them. In stuff like Bayonetta, Devil May Cry and Soulstice (that last one is one of my favourites), there's Style Meters, which may encourage a bigger public to try out more weaponry and can have bonuses in gameplay. Darksiders games don't really have a style meter, but the base combat feels good and there's still neat things on offer. DS2 is a bit more on the RPG side of things, BUT the ideas of the combat in Darksiders 1 are expanded too. For example, multiple different kinds of secondary weapons, all of which have a unique Charge - Perfect Release attack. And the gun you get there refills a bit of Wrath on every hit. I personally want to replay it with underleveled gear to really make the most of the weapons & magic rather than the numbers. All this said: I hope you don't feel like what i describe is the only right way of playing it. Older fans of any game may be a bit... zealous in ensuring that a newcomer doesn't misunderstand anything. You have fun with the game however you want. And I hope it's a lot of fun. The Darksiders series has a lot of ups, downs, and in-betweens and fan opinions can *strongly* differ from one another, yet as a series it's still generally something special and beloved. Wish you fun and fortune as the tales of the Riders unveil themselves!
Hi again! Honestly this is a new genre for me, I've played tons of games but rarely got a hold on hack and slash ones, except for Diablo, but it's super different from what we're talking about. I remember watching my cousin play DMC back in the days and always wanted to try it myself, guess I'll grab these too if I get the chance but yeah, Darksiders was a pleasure and I'm looking forward to seeing more, especially since you tell me the second one is aiming more towards the rpg aspect of things ! I admit that I often find myself in a situation where I'll aim for efficiency more than style - but I'm curious to try, I might actually discover a new way of playing ! (Also, I might've played many games and have good sense of what I'm supposed to do, but my skills aren't definitely the best which means styling could make me feel like I actually have some skills haha) Since I posted that video I only get positive feedback and the community is super chill - thanks for the welcome !
@@hourliche Beware with DMC2 if opportunity allows for it.i It's generally considered the worst game in the series and recommended to avoid it. Despite your issues with the Griever's lair and the Black Throne, seeing you describe it as a pleasure is a heartening sign. I definitely want to recommend Soulstice too, since it's one of my favourites, though it's not the easiest game in the genre to get into and drags on a bit during levels. Still has a lot to offer in both gameplay and story. Go for it, I hope you'll have fun in trying to experiment! There's no harm in trying... at least, not for you. There's a lot of harm for your sparring partners :P You may be slicing and dicing and swooping and sweeping enemies from left to right and back again before you know it. Slamming foes away with mace swings, pulling them back with a ghostly arm, shoot them with a gun before they're at the halfway point to stop them, then dash forward and jump up to hack at them a bit with your scythes before swiping with the mace again, and more fun stuff. (no worries there, there's many games i like a lot and am hardly an expert at. I wouldn't like them as much if i didn't have fun with them regardless. Glad that the community is being chill. May that keep up, and may any rougher encounters be dealt with well. Have a good one and take care!
This game still has one of my all time favorite game endings. If you enjoyed Darksiders 1 then 2 is definitely worth playing to get a more refined experience and some more lore.
As someone who swears by this entire series/franchise, welcome!! The other games are wicked fun and binging the story to place pieces into the right slots is so, so enjoyable. I would love to see videos on you playing the other games or even theories you may have! <3
@@hourliche Yay!!! This brings me overwhelming joy! I can't wait to see that video!! And any subsequence video you make! I thoroughly enjoy your commentary and I KNOW you deserve more love!
@@hourliche plus you're coming in at a GOOD time with a new game being teased! (Nothing to spoil or say other than FINALLY!!) So that agony of waiting for more won't be as bad! Sorry, I talk a lot, but I'm so glad you're here! ^_^
@@darknesseternal2473 Haha right !! I was the first one surprised because since that teaser, this video suddenly gained thousands of views ! I guess it means people are getting into the series again 🤩
