It shouldn't move if you have the release lever in place and the rollers on the edges holding the vinyl down. Inside the lid of the cameo there is a sticker with details about adjusting the rollers if needed also.

I use epoxy... it's a little tedious but holds up well. You can only mix a small amount at a time. I look for the epoxy that says it works on "some plastics".
Can I transform a cricut cake machine to work just like an expressions machine by just changing the blade? Also with the cartridges work the same as well in the cricut cake that I use with my cricut expression machine?
You have to keep the width just under the width of the vinyl (if you use a mat you should be able to print the width of the vinyl.. without a mat the rollers are on the edge, so I cut in between the rollers without a mat.
I used an AutoBlade so it sets automatically. In the software when you select the material "Heat Transfer, Flocked", it automatically sets the blade settings. I generally go with the automatic settings which are Blade 3, Speed 5, Force 33, Passes 1. On different projects if I find that the settings do not cut well, then I adjust. The auto settings work great for me for the Flocked Heat Transfer.
Thanks for the video . I have the cricut cake for my daughter she has never used it . Sometimes there is not internet for the explore so being able to use her machine will be an advantage.

Well for the 3D card, I can't see heat transfer material working. For the Cricut in general, yes you can cut heat transfer material. I haven't tried it on the Cricut Cake. You will want to try a test area, I would start with the blade at it's highest setting and go from there. The software to cut with your computer is "Cricut Craft Room" - it can be found on the Cricut website.
How big a box can you make. I did the 6" but was hoping I could go bigger. If I use the 12 x 24 would that do it? Or are they just favor boxes that can be done? I wanted to use it to put things in as a gift box full of cosmetics for my daughter for Moms day.
+Sara Cruz You can make a larger one, I forgot the exact size. The cuts are not in once piece though... it cuts two pieces that you tape/glue (it has tabs for this). I made a larger box with medium card stock, it was somewhat flimsy - but worked for what I needed it for. If you look on page 24 of the Tags, Bags, Boxes & More 2 booklet, at the top see where it has "Box Section 1" and "Box Section 2"? You want to do those two cuts. It says 5.5" so that is probably the max size it can do. I was able to fit a youth t-shirt in the box I made. Hope this helps.
I could not make it too big. I was hoping to find out how to make it possibly 2 times the size it is on your video but you can only make it but so big. Oh well....on to my next project :-)
+cristina jones The deep housing blade is used to convert the Cricut Cake into a paper cutter... then I just raise it up so it doesn't press all the way in.. so it scores instead of cuts. I hope this helps.
+Karla Figueroa You only need to replace the current blade housing with a "Cricut Deep Cut Blade & Housing". On the video I show the settings that worked well for me and there is picture of the deep cut housing unit. Hi I have the mini cricut machine cutter, which I regret not buying the bigger one... so do i change the blade for regular paper cut out and use a different mat ? what blade do I use for paper cut outs if so ?
+Aracely Oregel I used a regular blade and regular mat on the mini circuit. For scoring everything stays the same except you want low pressure so the blade doesn't cut through. I don't have the mini anymore.... I have a video I did with it that shows the settings I used for cutting and scoring (not for the pumpkin box, but the gable box - but similar settings should work). By regular paper, do you mean it's not card stock? I haven't tried making the boxes on regular paper only light/medium/heavy cardstock. +Aracely Oregel is your mini Cricut a Cricut Cake? If so, you would need the deep cut housing for the blade and a paper blade, of course (not the one that comes with the Cricut Cake). I just wanted to make sure I was giving you the right info... so if you have a Cricut Cake, you won't use the blade and housing for the blade that comes with the Cricut Cake... to cut paper or card stock you would need the deep cut housing.
Loved your video! I just made one of these and it's so easy! I was just wondering how you got it all in one piece. Mine seems to just cut half of it and then I have to glue the two pieces together.

The mat should already be sticky. I don't use the mat that came with the cricut cake, I use a regular mat for paper. When it loses a lot of it's sticky though, I do tape down the corners for a quick fix. If you don't have much sticky though then it might slip while it's cutting.
The cake mat isn't going to be sticky. You'll need to use a regular cutting mat. I suppose you could add some tacky stuff to the cake mat (but that would just be messy)

I don't think that would work. I think it would mess up your Cricut Expression... but I'm not positive. I 'think' the rollers are different and other stuff (plus it wouldn't be food safe (if you cut other stuff in it)). I have never used my Cricut Cake for food stuff. The cartridges do work both ways so any cake cartridges will work in the expression also.
I have a cricut expression, if I change the needle and the rug can use to cut fondant? And the cartridges that are used in the cricut cake serves for cricut expression? I love your video.
I think you could use these same settings. I used the Cricut with regular housing and a regular blade (I used Pressure: Low, Dial Depth: 1, Speed: Medium (with Med-weight card stock) with successful scoring results). You should test it on yours with those settings. I wouldn't sue the multi-cut, I don't think it is necessary and it might cut through (but it would depend on if you are using very thick paper, duller blade, etc).
Thanks for the tip about scoring I can't afford the scoring blade right now I hv expression w regular blade u think I could use multicut and then use blade depth 1 to use the scoring?
