Needed a bedrail guard for an IKEA SLÄKT twin size bed. We made this for just under $15 (the PVC cement was $6 of that). They cut the PVC pieces at the home improvement store where we purchased the PVC.
Supplies needed:
PVC cement,
Two - 1/2” x 1/2” Elbow PVC Fitting,
Two - 1/2” x 1/2” x 1/2” Side Outlet Elbow PVC Fitting,
Two - 1/2” x 1/2” Tee PVC Fitting,
Two 10’ long 1/2” PVC pipes (cut into seven pieces sized at 1 1/2 feet and two pieces sized at 3 feet long,
damp rag or paper towel for cleaning PVC,
flathead screwdriver for opening PVC cement,
fabric approximately 42" x 48" (I recycled an old blanket for this)
For the cover I used an old blanket cut at 42” x 48”. Sewed the sides up and slipped it on. Made it longer than the height of the bedrail so it could tuck under the mattress snuggly.
