What if I flip the script and ask the question: why no grand strategy games make any real solid effort at organizing and accommodating multiplayer? Humans will share your experience and remember it with you.
@d20studios
@d20studios 4 месяца назад
Thinking back to one of my favorite grand strategy games, Masters of Orion 2, where we'd spend hours engaged in hot seat multiplayer, one reason we're not seeing more multiplayer options in grand strategy games today might be the overall shift in the games market towards faster pace genres and divided player attention. Complex games demand a lot of time and focus. Younger generations will aim towards faster pace modern games, and for older generations that grew up on these games, available time to share with one another in person is scarce. On the positive side, this creates a unique opportunity for developers who can find ways to innovative by making complex experiences more accessible, whether by simpler interactions or new ways to play, such as asynchronous multiplayer.

@@d20studios And it's certainly not as easy as 1v1 play. What I'd like to see, is not only an accommodation for multiplayer, but an actual multiplayer format for grand strategy mp(my suggestion would be 3v3 all majors w USA starting as China until France falls -cold war MD would be different) with the opportunity to play with friends to take over an alliance, or have them assigned by the platform/mp program. What would REALLY be nice, would be to have some way of ranking players based on their game performances. No one listens to me though.

Erm, enumerate all possible legal moves? For many strategy games that could number in the hundreds of thousands or millions. This will only work for really simply games like chess with seriously limited numbers of legal moves.

I would’ve felt condescended by the little game callout at the beginning, until I heard the voices on the room build in excitement as you went on. It was an icebreaker and a way to wake everyone up. Well played. Excellent strategy. GG.

What does he mean by simulation ?
@GameDevChats
@GameDevChats 3 года назад
A simulation is where the AI will play out a move, its entire turn or even its prediction for the player's turn so that it can calculate the potential outcome as a numerical value. By ranking each potential move according to score, the AI can choose the most effective combination that contributes to its end goal.

Great, I have an idea for a app video game, a battle Royale type of game like Call of Duty: Mobile, and like Super Mecha Champions. My game would be called ‘Zombie Castle’, and it would be a huge 100 floor castle, with unique zombies on each floor, like diving zombies, grenade throwing zombies, radiactive zombies, armoured zombies, smart zombies, crazy zombies, and on each 100 floors their would be a unique zombie boss. In the Battle Royale map there would be an exactly reconstructed Area 51👽 stage with aliens in the lower levels, with alien guns and spaceships to earn as rewards, and secret rooms, a huge Los Vegas style area, a haunted forest area for bigfoot to catch and get rewards. A big 50 room haunted house, skyscrapers to expore inside. There would be tons of guns like the Desert Eagle, outfits, and weapon customization. There would be 5 game modes 1. Zombie Castle Mode where you fight 100 zombies, on 100 floors in the Zombie Castle, with unique zombies on each floor, with a zombie boss to fight having defeated all the zombies in the room. 2. Multiplayer Mode 3. Battle Royale Mode. 4. Take The Castle Mode Either Vs real players, or computer controlled zombies. 5. Defend The Castle Mode. Either Vs real players, or computer controlled zombies. My game would have special multiplayer modes I like 'Defend The Castle', where players would defend a castle from other players trying to invade it, and 'Take The Castle', where players would try and invade the castle, with the other players trying to defend it. Or play Defend The Castle, or Take The Castle from computer controlled zombies, whatever the players wants to do. I just need some game developers to get together in a room discuss the game and get it built to start making money. Money would come from ads, and people buying weapons, outfits, and special character skins. To save time we can add things to the game to make it better in updates over time. How do we make this game a reality, and how do we begin? To save time and to get the game released quickly we condence the zombie castle, area 51, Las Vegas area, haunted house, and haunted forest, into a small area on the battle royale map, and make the battle royale map bigger over time with updates. I have looked at games like Call of Duty Mobile, and PUGM, and I am not impressed from what I saw in the game, and I know I can make a better more fun game than these games. These games have a limited number of weapons in Battle Royale mode which is not fun. I expect at least 30,000 million downloads at least from this game idea, when built. Best regards, Nicholas Xee.

I have a card game uses standard deck game it's called bump. Each player has 100 health and is dealt 7 cards discard 3 they select 4 cards and the face cards are monster spawn 2-10 is attack valued aces are shields ska saving throws and jokers are 50 critical attack. Kings beat queens and jacks regardless of attack. If u have no monster player take direct damage. Queens beat jacks. The four cards represent a attack value or keep an ace to protect for your turn. @@dizmanskoemreska6537 It was more like the boardgame Axis and Allies. I had to abandon the project, due to a critical mistake I had made early on. All of the data was stored on the units and within the map instead of in a database; which meant that I couldn't make the map horizontally scrolling.

Hi. I think I understand and also agree on that you cannot reserve for yourself rights over a game mechanic.. I mean, if that were so, we would have to pay some tribute to the early game developers from decades ago just for making an object move up, down, right or left..😅
