Hi! I'm Elissa, and I'm a Canadian living in Italy. One day, I was just minding my own business, learning Italian because I wanted to feel more connected to my culture, and then next thing I knew I fell in love with an Italian and moved to Italy. Crazy, right?
I make videos in both English and Italian, and do my best to have subtitles in both languages on almost all of them. I make videos about various things, including languages, culture, and just my life. I hope I can help you learn languages, learn about cultures, and maybe even just be a distant friend.
Here's one the things that is tough for me... At no time when I was growing up and learning to speak did I ever think about where my tongue was and how to position it to make a sound. ;-) When trying to shape and place my tongue to make sounds to try to get this rolling R, all I am doing is thinking about my tongue and making weird non-rolling sounds. ;-( Oh well, I'll keep working on it...
Almeno, come percezione personale! L'unico neo in Germania ,è la lingua Tedesca.
i feel like i might have that genetic thing that my tongue doesnt curl up a certain way and my teeth are weirdly shaped ...I've always made that sound from the back of my throat- like i'm gargling water, hacking up flem, or doing a chewbaca from star wats impression...I'll keep working on it but how do I know if I really have that genetic thing or not... like I can sort of curl my tongue like when I say words like lulu but in an exaggerated way kind of sticking my tongue out-- but to get the sides of my tongue to sort of curl up just a little more subtle and independently from the tip of my toungue-- thats where I seem to be blocked- if thats what I need, not sure what i need to do? Any resources to test whether I have this genetic condition or not??
This dress is absolutely beautiful on 2 different levels! 1:It's gorgeous, the beads, the flowers, and the veil. 11/10 broke the scale. Your mother is extremely talented. Level number 2:It came from a mother's love ❤️.
i'm coming from the same background where French is my second language, so I can only do a uvular trill. This is such a comprehensive guide, thank you for the advice!
i would hate if whoever their kid is later on in life RUINS this dress and ends up making it like a plain white dress, considering how you said you and your mother took a long while getting it ready
EEEEEK THIS REALLY WORKED FOR ME! I’ve genuinely been trying to roll my Rs for YEARS and couldn’t get it right but this just worked for me in like 15 minutes! 🙌🏼😭 I am shooketh
