I have this channel to talk about star wars legion content. I would love to have battle reports up soon as I can find someone in my city to play. So for now, I figured I would talk about lists since I see a lot of people wanting list help.
@@werewolfcomics thanks for following and I'm glad these are helpful. If you ever have any topics or units you'd really like covered in the future, never hesitate to let me know
I haven't been in a podcast before but I'd love to join you guys and chat on some of these changes if you're interested. I'm well versed with the new rules.
Hate to be the bearer of bad news but none of the sabetours lay mines anymore. They're a melee to range 1 weapon profile now. Still early in the episode so if its corrected later, my bad.
Nope I completely looked over the fact it lost arm action and got turned into a granade. Good obvervation! Well honestly that does make it more intresting to run these guys with vibroswords, into the frey in those melee lists that probably gonna do well. If the mine is added to a bigger dicepool the chance posion is actually applied is very high, where in the past it would more often then not dont apply posion due to not scoring a regular wound. This would make the saboteurs amazing character hunters and mabye even as a backline piece to punish certain deep striking special forces or operatives
@@Zeromus5555 that's a very good point. That should be extremely exciting to see. I wonder if they keep the main names characters the same though. Itll be something I'm looking forward to. Great thought!
@@jeskokrumeich9859 I will be doing my best. I'm working on trying to make some now and work on what synergizes and how things work as well as what could be fun to play
Been having a blast trying out all of the changes in Empire. Currently getting my 3rd At ST up and going. Those extra 200 points were great for Tempest.
@@seanalonzo9244 oh yea! I'm going to be vamping up my empire now that the rules and points have changed. It is very exciting for tempest force. You can finally get a decent list with 3 ATSTs! You'll have to keep me updated on how your tempest list does
So I’m pretty sure they said that padawan Ashoka will be a squad leader upgrade and the commander version is the stand alone unit. So I think we’ll get 3 cards for her
@@levihoffman4409 I'm def down with that and happy to see the 2 kinds that we'll be able to play. I just hope he's cards are just as great as the rebel one
Divulging doesn’t mean you have to play it on turn one. Cad names says it has to be played. So it’s not wasting a 1pip. It’s actually good for situations where you might need it
@@shawnrodriguez4489 that's def good to know. So you can divulge it, out it back in your hand, then use it later when you want unless stated that you must select it round 1?
@@shadowscout0013 correct. I believe cad bane is the only one that actually says it must be selected in round one. I found this out the hard way before when I used mauls divulge card and he got nuked cause I thought I had to play it turn one and my opponent capitalized on it.
@@shawnrodriguez4489 ooof. That's a rough way to start. well that's certainly a way to learn 😂. I'll make sure to keep that in mind if I decide to divulge maul or Anakin! Thank you
@@shadowscout0013 no problem. I think you guys are right in a sense of you won’t divulge every game. But it’s there as an option. And it’s quit powerful if you can position him in the middle of a board where he can get anywhere. I did it in a game the other night and there was no way my opponent could avoid him. On turn two I played his one pip card and wiped out two whole squads and moved into a third. Then when he triggered tempted I wiped a 3rd squad. Ani is nuts now
@@Areys87 yea, I wasn't sure when y'all would talk or not, so when I was planning to talk cards, y'all still had some great commentary, so yea... There's quite a few switches happening. And no hotkeys, just the mouse clicks 😂
@@shadowscout0013 oh damn, my comment was meant as an addition to the previous guy complaining about the chair, sorry! Now it looks mean 😂 but yeah, when talking with more than 1 person muting helps :) great Episode dude!
25:00 I know the Dooku art is from Armada. So mabye more of them are converted, dont know from the top of my head. 1:02:05 archs probably trained especially for CQC. 1:13:50 I do agree that T series value is way less with the buffs to AI. He isnt bad but there is no reason to bring him anymore over a supertactical 1:14:13 Generic supertactical now definitly is a real consideration outside of very specific lists. They all bring something to the table that could be good in certain lists 1:19:54 Poggles 1pip got a major change. It became actually good with the surge to crit. Doesnt change poggle in a major way, but it is an important buff 1:21:00 Surge to defense is something Dooku needed soo much and also the order fixing for ANY trooper to back himself up with is just amazing. Hes probably gonna be a top guy now. 1:22:40 Agree also here. Force Push is not efficient with him not having charge/relentless. I also think Seperatist Invasion force list that used to pop up for a little while with Battlemediation might make a slight comeback. 1:23:29 QUAD Magna baby is a hype train. I do think grevious is better with his 2pip being really good now. But the pistol with UCaP is less good now since you cannot split the dicepool anymore. So no more block spam, he probably is going to be more of a "We got Darth Vader at home" kind of unit. That trainingslot is probably going to have endurance more often because the game has more suppression now due to higher activations. That or into the frey just to get more easy access to surge to defend 1:30:57 saboteurs dicepool buffed but sabs no longer can take triple striketeam so having mine fields for cheap is no longer an option unfortunatly. 1:33:10 Jup its gonna be the old list but now better with more units in it.
1:36:00 The Original snail already had critical 1. Its only new for the EX snail. And its gonna matter a lot for the EX snail. its damage now actually peaks higher then the normal snail, even though its a bit more swingy (as it was intended to begin with probably) 1:36:39 breaking value is the same 1:37:11 yea the new reposition rules are huge. Snail always had movement problems if you wanted to keep up the pressure with attacking every turn. This is now severely mitigated by it setting up way more efficient in the first turn
@@Emperor_Atlantis this is all perfect for the cis. How excited are you about all the new rules as well? Will you be taking grievous more or b2s more and/or what are your favorite things that got changed?
@@shadowscout0013 I probably play a lot of Dooku in the future although Grevious is also extreemly appealing now. Its hard to judge without playing it first. I definitly think B2 spam is not going to be a thing, but I can definitly see them going for the big unit as a main extra threat alongside the B1s. Its definitly almost all buffs for CIS. The fact disengage got changed and AI got better are huge boons. Only thing that might hold them back is those big groups of Shores knocking.
I just can’t fathom a company serious about a product they sell then change that product almost in its entirety and not release a single physical product that to assist in new and old players playing a brand new edition with updated rules in box sets. Anyone new buying a core set is potentially learning the game incorrectly now, it’s confusing for new and old players. Makes zero sense, self sabotage if I’ve ever seen it.
@@sadis72 I get that. I wish the cards, play board, and the rest of the updated stuff was out for everyone already. There could've been a better rollout, but I think that if ppl are buying into the game now, they either might know someone thats already playing or interested in ppl playing it. So they'll get the idea. I also think it benefits, in some ways, people who haven't played and just getting into it because they don't need to relearn anything and can just get everything fresh from online. It's a little tedious to get and a little extra work at the moment, but I think they'll be entering the game without previous attachments and will like the changes. Let's at least hope so
Thank you for not being doomer. I understand change is hard and feelings are all over the place but godamn any information surrounding this has just been a whine fest with no valuable commentary. You have delivered some much appreciated analysis.
@@jogurt3726 thank you! I greatly appreciate that and I've passed along how much I appreciate these guys being positive about the changes too. I'm hoping for the best for this game. I have seen a few videos of ppl really not liking the changes, but I think the game will still do pretty well with those who love playing with star wars stuff
@@shadowscout0013 and you all had some genuine and understandable worries, concerns and/or difference of opinions on the changes made to the rules but I do really appreciate the honesty about those things you maybe didn't like and thought provoking commentary, matched with a mature discussion about it. Always has me coming back to your videos. I feel like I learn more about the game and how to play when I listen to them.
@@jogurt3726 I very much appreciate that. I hope we can always deliver that for you. I'm happy to hear you keep coming back and learning more! This should be a good game and I want this community to be prosperous and very competitive. I want that to be reflected on these videos and I'm glad it comes out that way. I again appreciate you watching
@@themoody1337 of course! Thank you! And you're right bc change can be difficult when you have something you're used to or like and it's no longer there. Stay tuned for tomorrow's episode as well!
Wow some of these changes literally make me think AMG is trying to kill Legion. That backup mechanic really sounds like a stupid addition that is just going to make leaders like Vader an ungodly force. Plus the new transport rules seem like a lateral change at best. Also not a fan of droid vehicles not getting cover.Really hurts Dekas and spiders. Who knows maybe it will leave a spot for crab droids.
What? CIS LITERALLY got buffed to heck?! :D it's okay to dislike some changes, you'll come around, but saying AMG is killing Legion is ridiculous though
@@benc8738 I think it helped the spiders a lot actually. No more exhausting their ion and I think it got crit 1 on the gun. The backup has some limits I didn't see that anything in range 2 shooting prevents it from getting backup plus with the big dice pools, it really helps them not to get 1 shot. All vehicles don't get cover now, so even the bigger ones that couldn't really get cover now can never get it like the atst. Overall I think this will turn out to be a great game, just maybe not as competitive in the cool things you used to be able to do.
@@shadowscout0013 it IS. I faced this in a skirmish game yesterday, even killed Grevious in round one but still lost the whole game due to an unstoppable amount of B2s 😅 there's hardly a counter to them regarding damage output with only 500p of units. I do hope for a lil nerf 😁
I've not played for 10 month, I'm very worried that the game I knew has be destroyed, but it does sound better than I first read. When are the Clone units going to be put back in.
@@lesliemitchell4984 the clone units are in, they're just labeled differently. But they're still good. We will talk about them more in the next video tomorrow
@@lesliemitchell4984 thank you! We want to stay positive and do what we can to show the changes without much bias. We will give you our thoughts on the matter at the end of the next video, but I think it's overall more positive
@@MatthewBreck we try to stay as positive as we can and not bash the game since we all love the game. We mostly just tried to talk about the changes without complaining. Same in the other video. There might be some critiques, but we're not bashing the game
This is such an amazing interview. Can only say that everything mentioned are solid points. Never considered his tokens blocking off vehicles at deployment. Thats awesome. I do got a thing to add about force user combat: if you get into a situation with a character that has dodges it becomes really tricky to use cads gauntles. If his roll is lackluster and you cant get through any wounds the immobilise tokens dont get applied, you cannot disengage, and you are in big trouble potentionally. Cads skill ceiling is soo high love the vocalisating of many of the tricks here 👍
@@Emperor_Atlantis yea I had no idea that his tokens could block vehicles from movement bc they can't land on them. And yea, that roll can be tricky, you just gotta roll crits and hope for the best 😂. I agree his skill ceiling is high, but hopefully this video starts to help others get to that ceiling faster. I'm glad you approve 🫡
@@btdw-mikecooper3961 awesome to hear! I'm glad you're back in it. The droids have def come up. Always feel free to ask anything you can think of. Thanks for watching!
@@hbalcer it was a pleasure doing the interview with him. I loved padme and the commandos, I thought they did really well, but they were lacking lots of surges and battling for command cards was an issue. But I might even try his list with a little change and see how it goes bc it's so nice
9:30 the point made of boil on phase1 is awesome! Never thought about it like that. 14:45 yea I feel ya. Keypositions is getting very boring 😂 Great to hear crit to block on this channel. Love the content Dan!
@@Emperor_Atlantis yea, I didn't think about how many surges would be getting handed out with aggressive tactics and the cc. It really seems to make the difference. Hopefully with kp, we see some changes next week!
Errata the "within" in the lead from the front, and the bf improves, compared to the experimental droid, that gains action aims or dodges or dice just for spent a surge at r3 from the commander. _.
