I love running these. While it makes them expensive, HQ uplink allows the FD cannon to threaten more effectively. Allows you to lock down an area and have the ability to shoot anytime you decide to. Makes an opponent think twice about leaving a unit in the open for a large area of the board.
Yea. Their dice pools at range 5 really hold back units. Plus that impact is even better now that so many armor units want to rush in like the bus or LAAT. That hq uplink is a great upgrade on them too to make sure you get that shot in early. Thanks for watching!
And one more step closer to buying Echo Base 😂 having multiple FD’s throwing out 5 blacks at range 5 just seems killer. Will definitely pull sniper’s attention while getting those key units into a good range
Oh yea bc even the snipers aren't safe at range 5 with them. And echo base has had a lot of success in games with the fact they can have so many acts and big dice pools
Their range is so much better and they're great if you can spread them across the board. Your opponent will just want to hide quite a bit. Atrts just don't have the same effect. You'll have to post how your game went!
It's a great deterrent unit. The long range helps a lot. And if you are playing echo, you can move your mark 2 forward and then maybe if it had an order, you could shoot with the fd and then fire support with the mark 2 for 9B dice, crit 2, impact 2 (possibly 3). So it has the chance to do some real damage to armored units. And they're about as efficient as snipers with more health and dice
