I had the most pleasant experience at MCI (Kansas City) airport with Mrs. Shider yesterday. Poor gal had been through heck trying to get to a show in DC. I could tell she was in low spirits, so I tried to ensure she put her mind at ease and forgot about life, for a while over her glass of wine, and my beer. What a wonderful woman. She told me of her amazing experience with P-Funk, and her late/great husband. Hopefully she got to DC okay and crushed the show!!!! Thanks for the great conversation, it's not everyday you rub shoulders with greatness. :)
Very talented. Why don't they perform this song more? Much props to the direction of the performance that P Funk does. But I feel Tonysha deserves more moments like this on stage. She should get a solo at every show. I wanna hear her name and people cheer for her. They definitely would cheer for her if they gave her more lead roles like this. I hope on the next p funk album they put her up front on vocals for more songs. She's the most talented vocalist they have and her family should be very extremely proud
I just love Eddie's phrasing, tone and the squall he conjures up through his guitar and himself. Most guitarists will tell you, if they're any good, that there is wanking and there is noodling and then there is PLAYING. Eddie was a true guitar PLAYER. I can't hear a note that isn't truly intentionally played. Gone way too soon. Oh, I almost forgot...it also helps a little to have a band like this behind you.
If this is 15 years ago in 2009, this isn't Eddie Hazel. The great Eddie Hazel passed in 1992. Titles for RU-vid submissions are often deceptive and should be cleaned up. That said, this is an amazing and soulful performance.
